Chapter 20: Senior Sister Bai, I’m Here for You
Chapter 20: Senior Sister Bai, I’m Here for You
Looking at Nie Qing, who was now staring at him with an eager thirst for knowledge, Ye Shu didn’t know what to say.
He had thought she was sent by their master to test him.
Earlier, he had taken a risk, trying to force a reaction out of her.
But now…
Ye Shu sighed like an old man, “Sigh…”
To think that the Great Senior Sister had actually admitted to having inner demons and lustful desires!
That meant her earlier actions weren’t an act!
Upon realizing this, Ye Shu’s expression turned pained. He almost wished he hadn’t found out.
Being admired by someone wasn’t necessarily a good thing, especially in the Heavenly Fiend Sect with its ironclad rules.
Seeing Ye Shu’s troubled expression, Nie Qing felt a sense of foreboding.
It was like watching a traditional Chinese doctor shake their head at you, as if you were beyond saving.
She panicked, her Dao heart nearly crumbling.
Were inner demons really this terrifying?
“Great Senior Sister, I don’t know how to explain this. If you want to rid yourself of inner demons, you must face your own heart and understand why such evil thoughts arise. That’s all I can say.” Ye Shu spoke with a tone of deep wisdom.
He truly didn’t know what to say.
After all, he didn’t actually have any inner demons. He could only spout some nonsense and let her figure it out on her own.
Whether it worked or not wasn’t his problem.
“Face my own heart?”
This casual remark was treated like a precious gem by Nie Qing. She kept repeating it, as if she couldn’t get enough.
She seemed to savor the words, feeling as though she had gained profound insight.
After a long while, she seemed to have figured something out and nodded seriously. “Thank you, Junior Brother Ye, for your guidance. I think I understand a little now.”
“You… understand?” Ye Shu raised an eyebrow.
Nie Qing understood, but he didn’t. What exactly had Nie Qing understood?
Still, this wasn’t necessarily a bad thing. At least she wasn’t pressing him further, saving him from embarrassment.
“Well, Great Senior Sister, you should go back and reflect on this. A man and a woman alone in a room can lead to misunderstandings.”
Ye Shu issued a gentle dismissal.
He didn’t dare let any woman stay in his room for too long.
Great Senior Sister Nie Qing was even more troublesome than Bai Rourou. With her having such improper thoughts, he needed to be extra cautious. Sending her away was the best way to avoid future trouble.
“Alright, thank you, Junior Brother Ye.”
Nie Qing spoke with gratitude.
Then, she walked out the door, her steps hesitant.
Just as she stepped outside, she suddenly froze. “Wait, why did I come here in the first place?”
It was only then that she snapped out of her daze!
Her original purpose wasn’t to receive a lecture from this Junior Brother!
She had come to seduce him into breaking the rules!
How had things turned into him lecturing her and diagnosing her with inner demons?
Nie Qing felt like crying. She almost wanted to rush back in, hold a sword to his neck, and demand to know if he had used some kind of demonic trick on her.
But she quickly calmed down.
She thought about Ye Shu’s words. They were logical and well-reasoned, with no obvious flaws.
Even his behavior exuded an air of righteousness.
He didn’t seem like the kind of person who would lust after beauty and betray the sect.
Most importantly, when she had lost control earlier, it was he who had stopped her in time!
This…
It was all too convincing!
How could he possibly be the problem? After everything that had just happened, Nie Qing couldn’t bring herself to believe it.
Instead, she was the one with the problem!
Why had she lost control? Why had she wanted to get close to Ye Shu when she saw his face?
There was definitely something wrong! Nie Qing was panicking. The problem was so big that she was still flustered, so big that she didn’t dare think too deeply about Ye Shu’s face.
She muttered to herself, “Maybe Junior Brother Ye is right. I’ve also fallen victim to inner demons, but I just didn’t realize it.”
“I never thought it would be Junior Brother Ye who pointed this out to me. He’s such a good person… and I…”
“Sigh…”
At this thought, Nie Qing’s face turned red. She didn’t know how to face Junior Brother Ye in the future.
All she could do was resolve to treat him better from now on, to make up for her past mistakes.
With this in mind, Nie Qing turned back and gave Ye Shu a deep, affectionate look. “Junior Brother Ye, you’re such a good person.”
After saying this, she flew away in embarrassment, disappearing into the night as a streak of red.
Ye Shu stared at the spot where she had vanished, replaying her words in his mind.
“I’m such a good person?”
After pondering this for a moment, he felt a chill run down his spine. “No way, is the Great Senior Sister really like that?”
The Nie Qing he knew wasn’t such a frivolous woman.
Could it be…
Ye Shu stroked his chin, deep in thought. Could it be that his confession to her had opened Pandora’s box, leading to this uncontrollable chain of events?
“It’s my fault, my fault.” He had no one else to blame but himself.
This was all the result of his own reckless actions.
From now on, he would have to find a way to make it up to Great Senior Sister Nie Qing. Consider it his way of atoning for his guilt.
“One problem after another.”
Ye Shu rested his head on his arm and sighed deeply. “But it’s not all bad. No regrets!”
He raised his hand, recalling the softness and intensity of the earlier moment. It had nearly made his nose bleed.
If he hadn’t reacted quickly and played the victim, who knows how things would have turned out?
In the end, it was a close call, but everything turned out fine.
Time to sleep.
…
The next day.
Ye Shu woke up, having slept soundly and comfortably. His dreams had even featured some… tantalizing scenes involving the Great Senior Sister.
He reached down and checked his pants. Thankfully, they weren’t wet. That would have been awkward.
With nothing else to do, he decided to go out for a stroll.
He strapped the Great Silver Sword to his waist and walked out with an air of confidence. As he strolled down the main path of the disciple peak, he was met with admiring gazes from the other disciples.
“Wow! It’s the Demon Prince! I can’t believe it’s really the Demon Prince!”
Before he knew it, a group of fangirls and fanboys had gathered behind Ye Shu, gazing up at him with admiration.
Suddenly, Ye Shu’s footsteps came to a halt.
He spotted a beautiful figure gracefully performing an astonishing sword dance among the bamboo grove.
In the blink of an eye, leaves scattered like green boats floating in the air.
With a light tap of her toes, she danced across the floating leaves like a dragonfly skimming the water, executing a series of breathtakingly beautiful moves.
“Bravo!” Ye Shu couldn’t help but clap at the sight. It was truly a feast for the eyes.
As expected of Senior Sister Bai! Her swordsmanship was truly exceptional!
The person in question was none other than Senior Sister Bai Rourou.
Although her offensive capabilities might need some work, when it came to flashy techniques, she was second to none!
“Huh?”
Hearing the applause, Bai Rourou, who had been dancing on the bamboo, lost her balance. She tilted backward and began to fall!
She was only at the Foundation Establishment stage and couldn’t fly. Losing her balance, she flailed her arms and legs, plummeting toward the ground.
“Save—me—”
In her moment of despair, she managed to utter these two words.
But in such a short amount of time, who could possibly save her?
It seemed like wishful thinking.
The fall was going to hurt. She didn’t want to imagine it and closed her eyes in despair.
“Senior Sister Bai, I’m here for you.”
A gentle voice reached her ears, causing her heart to tremble. Her entire body went weak.
