"Today, we will be discussing the raid to take down the monsters at Garena town. But apart from that, I will also brief everyone of our findings."

The lieutenant colonel said as the meeting started off.

"As you all know, it's been over two weeks since the desolate beasts tide appeared in Alleva district and took down Rosewood city. Ever since, we've carried out investigations to understand their mysterious appearance into Alleva district, which is known for not having any monsters.

"Our investigations showed signs of spatial passages having existed within the same dating of the wave's appearance, which suggests that there was a spatial transmission."

The crowd was surprised by this, but some seemed to have a look of understanding on their faces.

A spatial transmission meant that there was teleportation involved. Teleportation wasn't some magic in the current era, but it was still something out of reach for Eretre.

The Kellan solar system, despite having a few planets far more advanced than Earth, was still termed as a backwater when the entire galaxy was being considered. Even within its star region, the Blue Mist star region, the Kellan solar system was ranked third out of the four active solar systems.

Planet Eretre was similarly in a difficult situation. Of the five habitable planets out of eight in the solar system, Eretre was near the bottom, if the desolate beast-occupied planet, Jota, was excluded in the count.

All these unfortunate circumstances resulted in the planet being well behind in technological advancements, such that even the teleportation was a problem for them despite the existence of star engines used for long distance space travel.

"Does that mean that the space-bomb theory is true?" Someone in the gathering asked.

The individual was an influential person and privy to confidential information, like the meeting held by the security agency heads in Baylands City. That was how he knew about the space-bomb theory brought up by the director of the Red Fangs.

"Plausible, but there's no sufficient evidence to suffice." The lieutenant colonel rebuked the statement with a nonchalant expression.

He then added, "There's similarly a likelihood that a void-type desolate beast was involved, or even a Void beast. I'm more inclined to believe this as the cause since it's occurred once before."

Apart from hyumankin and the animals that previously existed in the Human era, a new biological kingdom of creatures was discovered, under which aliens were classified. There was also a new kingdom which was reserved for desolate beasts known as the Desolatum. However, desolate beasts were just one class of creatures in this biological kingdom.

Desolatum was used to refer to Astral Monsters; a unique breed of organisms that possessed stellar energy innately, and could live in different environments. Under this taxonomical classification, there were other classes of Astral Monsters, with desolate beasts being the most common in Eretre.

The other classes, Stellar creatures and Void beasts mostly wandered in space or higher regions. Compared to desolate beasts, they were more powerful and possessed unique abilities. It was no underestimation so say that a horde of Void beasts could wipe out the entire planet, while only a single Stellar creature could pull off the same.

Stellar creatures were very rare, which made sense otherwise planets like Eretre would be living in constant fear. However, Void beasts weren't as rare, albeit a horde of them together was.

It was due to the unique abilities of Void beasts which made the lieutenant colonel suggest that the appearance of the desolate beasts were related to it. Chances were that a Void beast with spatial powers might have been wandering in Jota, the planet of desolate beasts, and created a spatial passage in the process. Said spatial passage's destination coincidentally led to Alleva district in Eretre which resulted in an army of desolate beasts, some of which were rarely seen or even extinct in Eretre, appearing at the moment.

Although this theory could be described as wild, it was very plausible as a similar situation had once occurred in a different city-state. However, the main reason why many supported this idea was that it sounded more logical and 'nicer' to believe that this was a mere coincidence and not the act of terrorists who possessed complex space-bombs. The latter theory, which meant that the terrorists possessed connections and weapons that the Oklo Dynasty couldn't even fathom, was a lot scarier and many refused to admit to it.

The man who spoke up remained quiet. Since the lieutenant colonel was the leader of this meeting, it was best to not argue too much with him.

"As was mentioned in earlier disposed memoirs, the desolate beasts we've discovered are a mix of unique and common ones. Some haven't even been seen in the Wastelands for over two decades, and others believed to be extinct. So, it's safe to say that this is an incident of a Void beast. But it spells great fortune for us all so long as we can handle the issue well." The lieutenant colonel stared at everyone in the hall, one at a time.

"Now, let's begin discussing the raid to take down the monsters, which our defence force terms 'Operation Wild Strike'."

Just as the lieutenant colonel was about to continue the meeting, an alarm rang out.

Waaaa. Waaaa. Waaaa.

"What's going on?"

The guests of the meeting were all confused and looked to the lieutenant colonel for an explanation.

However, as soon as they saw the expression on his face, everyone had a bad feeling.

"Ladies and gentlemen, this is THE alarm." The lieutenant colonel suddenly said with a solemn expression on his face.

Although there didn't seem to be much information in those few words, the people gathered here weren't slow. There was only one type of alarm that would spark such a reaction from the lieutenant colonel. The desolate beasts tide has made its move.

The lieutenant colonel stood up from his seat and began to walk away while saying,

"I'll be sending a rapid response team to ensure that the situation is kept under control as much as possible. Meanwhile, please return to your respective parties and make your preparations as quickly as possible. The details of Operation Wild Strike will be altered and sent over to you.

"While it might look as if we would come out victorious, please take this battle seriously."
