Chapter 11: awakening.
sapnap opened his eyes. he was in the back of something moving. he tried to light his fire only to find himself unable to. he was still too cold. he tried moving, his arms were stuck at his sides. he looked around. it was a box, and what ever the box was in was in something moving.
then the thought his sapnap. was he in a chest? in some carriage going somewhere. now, sapnap started struggling. he was blinded just a little, he kicked and shifted, trying to yell out just to find his words muffled by something.
he heard talking that was muffled though the chest walls.
"keep the prince quiet!"
that sounded like quackity. how could he not remember the man who just kidnapped him from his very own home? sapnap kept struggling.
the second the chest opened. he kicked up. hitting the guard in the face. sapnap struggled to get up for a moment before he started to run. it didn't take long for him to feel a hand grab his tail, wincing as he was yanked to a stop. landing on his stomach.
sapnap felt a hand grab one of his horns as his head was yanked up. it was by some guard, obviously important because of the gold on him. the green also said that this man was from the essempi.
"come on prince. you didn't think that would really work did you?"
sapnap could only rumble, a noise that came from deep in his throat. he winced again as his hair was grabbed and dragged back to the now stopped carriage quackity was stood nearby. looking strangely sympathetic. sapnap was dragged back in the carriage before being shoved back into the chest. this time with blankets. they were big and limited sapnaps movements incredible. sapnap hated this. but he was feeling warmer.
sapnap, after a few hours was feeling constrained. his knees were starting to lock in place and his arms were bent back at uncomfortable angles. he tried to figure out were he was. but every movement felt like a fight against a weight. and if he was being completely honest.
he wanted his dads. he missed home. he didn't know why the essempi was taking him away. sapnaps tail was bent to make more space. and sapnap thought. he thought about his past. his first memories. oh how he remembered.
it had been in a dark room, with both his fathers infront of a pool of lava. with a wizard that had disappeared soon after helping with his creation. skeppy broke off a diamond spike that grew from him, to give the kid a connection to the gems and specifically skeppy. and bad dropped a bit of void essence. to give the kid a essence to build off of.
sapnap remembered being pulled out of the lava by the wizard. he cried immediately. calming only as he was handed off to his dad, skeppy. bad went to see their new creation. their son.
sapnaps thoughts were inturrupted when the carriage hit a bump. causing him to go up and slam down, a muffled cry of shock and pain tor through the silence. sapnap was sure his shoulder was bruised now. he felt the carriage stop a few minutes later. maybe 30. before the chest was opened, he was held down as the blanket was removed and the lid was shut again. he laid there confused before he felt the chest be picked up.
he hit the side as they started moving. his legs hurt. and so did his shoulder. he tried to kick the wall of the chest. no success. sapnap heard doors, talking that was unintelliagable. he heard one last door be opened. before the chest was dropped.
sapnap landed with a huff. the chest was unlocked and very quickly. a door was shut. sapnap bursted out of the chest. the light was blinding as he looked around. his eyes widening at the scene. it was a new dark space. this time. there was a bed, and a table. the room was of cobblestone. the door, made of a thick iron was infront of him.
there were small windows of light. even though the hall outside was filled with torches. and the room across from his seemed to have torches with lit flames. they knew of him and his abilities. sapnap stepped out of the chest. taking time to look at the floor.
water. the room had been dug a moat specifically at the front of the room. the door, clearly having space for a walk way to be set down, was beyond sapnaps reach. and he really didn't want to take a dip in water. so.
sapnap went to the table and started searching. paper. pen. ink. that was it. what were they expecting him to do with this. that was sapnaps burning question. he huffed. still unable to talk. and sat on the bed.
he wanted to go home.
