Chapter 19: Chapter 19

{A/N: I would appreciate any feedback anyones able to give. I was originally planning to use a movies story for this chapter but decided mid way through not to. Instead I did it my way, tell me what you think?}

1st Pov

Quickly ushering Jean inside I guide her to the couch and sit her down with a towel. Sitting next to her I use a separate train of thought to control some items in the kitchen and start making a hot chocolate.

Pulling Jean into a hug I pat her on the back as she cries, something very noticeable though is how hot Jean is at the moment. Extending a tendril from my back I create a contactless thermometer and use it on her, looking at the results I see Jeans current temperature is 82 degrees Celsius.

Looking closer at Jean I can see faint orange energy trails running under her skin in a similar pattern to veins. Changing the hot chocolate for a cool drink from the fridge I separate from the hug and hand it to her.

Looking Jean in the eyes I can see she calmed down a bit so I decide to see if I can gather some information from her surface thoughts, skimming her surface thoughts that she projecting outwards I'm immediately noted to her massively increased mental capacity.

Scanning her mind more deeply to see what could have caused this I find the mental blocks Charles installed have loosened and her suppressed might is slowly blending back into her. I can also note how her energy seems to of changed sightly and has a hint of heat to it.

Looking around the edges of Jeans mind for a bit more whilst giving her a hug I make sure to avoid reading her memories and look for anomalies. Not seeing anything different from Jean in her mind apart from Charles's shackles I decide to address the elephant in the room.

"What happened Jean?" – Morgan

Eyes brimming with tears again Jean sobs out a reply "I hurt them Morgan"

Comforting Jean by patting her back I get her to elaborate on what she means, after a few minutes Jean finishes her story and I have most of the picture. It seems Jean went on a mission with the X-men to space.

In space Jean got trapped as a satellite smashed through the shuttle she was on, with her helmet cracked and leaking Jean had drawn on all her psychic reserves to blast apart the debris. Seeing the X-men's shuttle flying away from her and the debris storm she was in; Jean had drawn out more energy than she should have been able.

With her increased energy reserves Jean was able to safely make it back to the shuttle, after landing Jean had tried to sleep it off but had been awoken by vivid images of her parents in a car crash. Unable to control her still increasing mental powers Jeans emotions caused her to violently blast apart part of the mansion and knock out Charles.

Running out of the broken mansion Jean had then used her increasing powers to fly to the town she had seen in her memories. There she was able to find her father who didn't remember her, the influx of emotions from seeing her father had further loosened Charles's shackles.

With the loosened shackles Jean was able to remember the crash that killed her mother.

At this point I realised this version of Jeans story was different from both the comic and movie versions and continued listening.

In her memories Jean remembers happily chatting with her mother and father in their car, earlier that morning Jean had awakened her powers and her parents had both celebrated. Her mother in this universe seemed to be a meta-human with the abilities of a phoenix.

In the car Jeans parents were taking her to Charles's mansion to help her train, when out of nowhere a three metre tall muscle bound man wearing a large helmet rammed the car. As the car hurtled off the road Jeans mother had used her powers to protect Jean and her father but was quite injured.

As her mother slowly healed the tall man walked over with a shorter younger version of Charles Xavier. At this point in Jeans story, I had already realised the likely identity of the large man but held back telling her for now.

Continuing her story Jean almost couldn't talk when she recounted how her mother had used the last of her energy to secretly revive her father after the tall man stomped his head into mush. Unfortunately, Jean's mother didn't have enough energy left to revive herself after suffering the same treatment and perished.

Afterwards Jean was captured and Charles slowly used her as a battery for years, changing her memories and emotions and syphoning her negative emotions into Cerebro to use himself.

When Charles eventually used the shackles in her mind and Cerebro to track her down she was ready to confront him, but Charles didn't come alone and manipulated the rest of the X-men into thinking Jean was an enemy.

This brings the story back to the point where I found Jean at my door. After fighting off the X-men for a few minutes Jean snapped and blasted them away, hurting a few of her close friends in the process and knocking out Charles.

With Charles unconscious the rest of the X-men went down and Jean was able to escape as the Brotherhood of Mutants appeared on the horizon. Nodding a few times, I continue to hug Jean and comfort her as I hack into all Charles's systems, shutting down all his wireless devices I was unable to access his underground base due to it being shielded.

Rapidly extending my psionic energy to blanket the surrounding area for up to a hundred kilometres in each direction, I find all the X-men and Brotherhood currently on their way. At the moment I could easily kill or free all of them but decide against it.

They are after all Jeans friends and Charles deserves to die at Jeans feet hopeless and alone for what he's done.

Releasing my hug, I lean back on the couch and look Jean in the eyes, then with as much seriousness as I can muster I talk.

"Jean, Charles is on his way here now with the X-men and Brotherhood. I'll deal with the majority of the groups but I want you to defeat Charles, I don't believe you'll be able to get over any trauma without personally enacting revenge for your mother." – Morgan

Nodding silently Jean seems to gather her resolve before wiping the tears from her eyes and standing up.

"Very well then, if you are willing to help me deal with the X-men and Brotherhood I can't keep sitting here crying. I'll kill Charles myself. " – Jean

Smiling at Jeans resolve I open my inventory and gather some materials, looking at Jean still in her pyjamas I slowly begin making a suit for her. Taking care to reinforce the suit and upgrade it with my increased intelligence, I copy the same design I used during her battle with the Lizard.

Handing her the completed suit I gently guide her to the bathroom and leave her be. Whilst Jean changes I head outside to prepare somewhere away from my house to fight. Changing into my base form I move around a kilometre from my house and expand my tendrils to store all the dirt and rocks in my inventory.

Looking at the now flat 200x200 metre square I notice it doesn't seem quite complete and use my psionics to compress the area into a solid platform. Nodding at my work Jean flies over now with her suit equipped as the X-men and Brotherhood appear on the edge of the distant city.

Waiting next to Jean for a few minutes I take the chance to look her over, the glowing lines that were previously covering her entire body have receded to just around her eyes and hands. As well her mind has become far more stable.

Flying in on a floating piece of metal the X-men and Brotherhood land twenty metres from us, checking the area with my psionics I notice Charles extending his mental power throughout the area with tendrils connecting all the people on his side to him.

Wheeling back away from the group Charles positions himself as far from the fight as possible, looking at this pathetic old man shielding himself behind brainwashed young kids greatly angers me. Flexing my psionic energy surrounding the area Charles goes pale as I snap the puppet strings on all the people he brought.

Watching as everyone but him, Jean and I fall to the ground unconscious, Charles rapidly starts smacking buttons on his wheelchair and sending out psychic messages. Intercepting most of the psychic messages I'm not able to intercept one as its intercepted by another psychic signal.

Unfortunately, as fast as I am and with as many minds I have access to I'm unable to stop a psychic signal that's already reached its target. Ignoring the signal for now I turn back to Charles, at the moment he has a cocky grin as he press's one last button on his wheelchair.

Bracing for anything he could throw at me I'm pleasantly surprised when all that happens is his wheelchair transforming into a mech. Watching as Charles disappears within the metal contraption I quickly do a scan of it to check its threat level, surprisingly the mech is actually made of adamantium and has a basic version of cerebro in it.

Walking towards us in his mech Charles proudly boasts about how he got Hank and another mutant to make it for him, bored of his villainous monologue I give Jean a go ahead sign and move to the pile of unconscious meta-humans.

Working on scanning and fixing the Meta's minds with some thought trains I use another to watch the fight. Stepping forward Charles draws a sword and slashes it at Jean, ducking under the sword swipe Jean steps between the mechs legs as she glows orange.

Punching out at the leg of the mech no visible damage appears on the surface apart from a lingering orange glow, dodging a kick from the mech Jean shoots out a blast that hits the robots other leg also causing it to glow.

Already seeing what Jeans doing my confidence in her victory rises ever higher. Continuing the physical back and forth for a few more minutes the mechs legs and one of its arms are now all glowing a bright orange.

Jumping back from an especially powerful hit Jean stops and makes a motion with her hands, with a loud groaning sound the glowing limbs of the mech rip off and fall to the ground, the motors and bent gears spilling out as the weaker materials break.

Walking over to the disabled robot Jean begins picking apart the cockpit part by part, making her way around the adamantium parts and targeting the loose electronics to further disable the robot.

As she works I notice Jean enter a single minded trance as she effortlessly deflects Charles's desperate mental attacks. Surprisingly without any mechanical aid the Charles of this reality is quite mentally weak, I guess always getting what he wants isn't good for his mind.

As Jean continues to tear into Charles's mech I notice a signal incoming from the air, putting off the rest of the Meta's mind repairs I brace for arrival. From what I'm feeling from this signal it feels like a large amalgamation of tortured minds all crammed together in an eldritch mass.

As the signal gets closer I'm able to feel the sheer power radiating off of it, the power from the incoming object is easily enough to level a continent in a single hit. Snapping Jean out of her trance I tell her to grab the professor and Meta's before getting as far away as possible.

Looking at me confused I feel Jean extend her mental powers and find the signal, going to knock Charles out I notice he's discreetly sending out a psionic signal that disappears just under his skin. Forcefully suppressing all psionic energy in his area, I quickly disrupt his signal and knock him out.

Extending my matter manipulation, I decompose the adamantium on his mech into ingots and stash them in my inventory. As Jean and I had our small conversation the signal has gotten close enough to be seen.

Looking at the signal it's a large 5 metre tall figure clad in a shiny silver exoskeleton, the figure has a large helmet on their head with a X across the front of it and a glowing red gem imbedded in the metal armour around their chest.

Bracing for impact I forcefully teleport the still close Jean and Meta's as far away as I can currently reach, which at this time is Australia, priming my spatial manipulation and psionics skills I check my energy reserves.

Seeing my energy at 99.98% I quickly lock all the space around me temporarily and hold every particle. If this figure is as strong as their energy signal makes them out to be I don't want my house being destroyed.

Now almost atop me the figure flies directly into the ground 50 metres from me, feeling the force ripple out from the impact zone I'm glad I reinforced the area because the impact alone would have levelled a two kilometre area.

Using my psionics to quickly brush away the dust that flew up from the crater I finally get a look at the figure. The figure is a five metre tall man with what looks to be a set of armour fused to his body, on his head the large silver helmet covers down to his nose leaving only his foaming mouth visible.

Scanning the armour with my spatial awareness I see blue liquid flowing through small pipes into the figures body and large metal grafts attaching the armour directly to the persons nerves and bones. Scanning the armour my worst fear is confirmed as it seems to be a ultra-pure adamantium alloy with resistance to my matter manipulation.

I'm still able to affect the armour but whatever material is in it seems to resist matter manipulation. Continuing my assessment of the figure, which in real time has taken less than a millisecond, I notice a large device on his back underneath all the armour. The device seems to be surgically grafted to the mans spine and I'm able to make out a nuclear reactor and other core components within it.

More worrying though is within the device I can fell hundreds of trapped and tortured minds screaming in agony. Throughout all this device I'm also able to fell Jeans energy tying it together and syphoning the energy from the tortured minds.

My best guess for what this device is at the moment would be the actual cerebro, what it's doing attached to this man I don't know. Finally, the most concerning part of the armour is the diamond shaped glowing red gem embedded between the mans chest and the armour.

From what I can tell the gem seems to be putting out enough energy to destroy an entire continent in a single hit, almost all of which is going straight into the man with a comparatively small amount going into the armour.

Dreading the results I decide to use appraisal on the man.

[Name: The Amalgam

Species: Meta-human?

This creature was formerly known as Cain Marko, after accidentally finding the Crimson Gem of Cyttorak Cain sought to use its abilities to aid the world. Unbeknownst to him at the time his stepbrother Charles Xavier had other plans for him, over years Charles slowly corrupted Cains morals until he became the Juggernaut.

Over the following years since then Charles's control of him grew until he became no more than a puppet unable to think. Seeing no further use for him like this, Charles controlled both Forge and the Beast, two of the smartest X-men, to begin modifying him. Now there is no longer a soul called Cain Marko and in his place resides The Amalgam.

The Amalgam is a combination of the most advanced tech Charles has access to combined with the power enhancing drug Mutant Growth Hormone, the Crimson Gem of Cyttorak and the minds of all Charles's victims stored within Cerebro. This is the first time it's been awakened, the only command it has recieved is kill.

Estimated Power Level – High A; Able to destroy a continent in a single hit at full power]

Gulping slightly, I'm kind of impressed by the monster Charles Xavier created, other than that tough I'm kind of scared. Why couldn't the Avengers deal with this.
