Chapter 135: A Dragonite with Psychic Talent!

Away from the others, Hikaru and Hayashi Ten distanced themselves from Sakura to have a private conversation.

Hikaru explained the backstory behind Sakura bringing him to Dragon Island.

Hayashi Ten's expression softened.

"So, you didn't know about this beforehand..."

Hikaru chuckled wryly.

"I really didn't. Just a bit of good fortune, I guess."

Despite his youthful appearance, Hikaru's calm demeanor and polite tone gave Hayashi Ten the impression he was speaking with an equal.

There wasn't a trace of arrogance in Hikaru's words.

Likewise, Hikaru quickly grasped the reason behind Hayashi Ten's initial hostility.

"I apologize for causing trouble," Hikaru said earnestly.

"It's fine, really..." Hayashi Ten replied, his earlier resentment fading.

Hikaru's genuine attitude and humility left a good impression. Still, Hikaru soon found a way to completely dispel Hayashi Ten's lingering frustration—through his Dragonite.

Hikaru had noticed something unusual about Hayashi Ten's Dragonite earlier.

A Champion-tier Pokémon at Level 52 was clearly an impressive achievement, indicative of a Master-level Trainer.

However, as Pokémon grow stronger, their progress slows significantly.

Some trainers might only take two or three years to reach the Advanced Trainer stage, but transitioning to Master Trainer status could take over a decade, often leading to frustration and burnout.

This phenomenon highlights the critical importance of a Pokémon's growth period—a phase when they're most receptive to battle experience and specialized resources.

Sakura had likely been eager to bring Hikaru here to capitalize on this crucial window of growth for her own Pokémon.

After some thought, Hikaru spoke up.

"Hayashi Ten, has your Dragonite been training with Outrage frequently?"

Hayashi Ten froze in surprise before nodding instinctively.

"Yes... how did you know?"

"This is my mentor's contact card," Hikaru said, handing over a card. "I'm also a Certified Specialist Breeder, so it wasn't hard to notice."

"Wait... what?"

Hayashi Ten looked at the card in disbelief.

A Specialist Breeder?

"Has your Dragonite been experiencing headaches recently?" Hikaru asked.

Hayashi Ten's shock deepened.

"How... how did you know that?!"

Realizing Hikaru's expertise, Hayashi Ten calmed down. He explained that he had already consulted top-tier breeders and physicians about the issue, but their conclusions only pointed to Outrage training as the cause.

Despite providing calming remedies, the problem persisted, leaving Hayashi Ten deeply troubled. He had even considered seeking help from the family's in-house Specialist Breeder, though that would be no small feat.

Now, Hikaru had pinpointed the issue in seconds.

"Do you have a solution? The breeders I consulted all said the problem stemmed from Outrage training, but I've stopped Dragonite from practicing it for a while now."

Hikaru smiled. "Release your Dragonite first, and let's take a closer look."

"Oh, okay!"

Hayashi Ten quickly released his Dragonite.

Sakura, watching from a distance, felt a pang of worry until Hikaru waved reassuringly.

[Pokémon: Dragonite]

Ability: Inner Focus

Gender: Male

Potential: Champion

Level: 52

Moves: Protect, Hyper Beam, Dragon Dance, Psychic, Confusion, Wing Attack, Ice Beam, Ice Punch, Extreme Speed...

Note: Born with exceptional psychic potential. Excessive use of Outrage triggered latent Psychic abilities, but without proper utilization, the overwhelming Psychic energy caused cranial pressure, resulting in headaches. Prolonged neglect could lead to neurological disorders.

Though Hikaru had already noticed something unusual about the Dragonite, he confirmed his suspicions with Aura Vision.

"It's nothing too serious," Hikaru began, explaining the situation in detail.

"What?!"

Hayashi Ten was stunned.

His Dragonite wasn't suffering from an illness—it had untapped Psychic potential?

As a Dragon Tamer, Hayashi Ten had always prioritized training Dragon-type moves, as they benefited most from his Dragon Tamer Power.

While he occasionally trained other types of moves, they were never a primary focus.

Had it not been for the side effects of Outrage inadvertently unlocking Dragonite's latent Psychic abilities, he might never have discovered this potential.

"So... how do we fix this?" Hayashi Ten asked anxiously.

"It's simple," Hikaru replied. "Dragonite, use Confusion."

Hikaru gently patted the large, slightly goofy-looking Dragonite.

Dragonite glanced at Hayashi Ten for confirmation. Upon receiving a nod, it closed its eyes and focused.

A surge of Psychic energy erupted like a tidal wave, lifting and rearranging nearby rocks and creating ripples across the sea.

Even a simple Confusion from a Master-level Pokémon demonstrated immense power.

"That's it. Keep practicing," Hikaru encouraged.

Dragonite hesitated momentarily before continuing.

It began levitating seawater into the air and manipulating it into various shapes before letting it splash back down.

After half an hour of continuous practice, Dragonite noticed something extraordinary—the persistent, dull ache in its head was gradually fading.

Overjoyed, Dragonite eagerly attempted more complex maneuvers.

Hikaru stopped it with a raised hand.

"This isn't something that can be resolved in a single session. It'll take consistent practice," he explained.

"Dragonite, Hayashi Ten, the solution is straightforward: train its Psychic-type moves.

"Once Dragonite gains full control of its Psychic energy, it may even be able to shorten the confusion period caused by Outrage."

"This issue isn't really related to Outrage—it's simply that your Dragonite was born with Psychic potential."

"Thank you... really, thank you, Hikaru."

Hayashi Ten was at a loss for words.

Any lingering resentment he'd felt toward Hikaru had completely evaporated, replaced by genuine gratitude.

"It's no problem. I'm just glad I could help," Hikaru said with a smile.

"You don't understand—this is more than just a personal issue. My younger sister's Dragonite has been experiencing the same problem. You've helped me solve something we couldn't figure out for years!"

Hikaru raised an eyebrow.

"If you'd like, I can take a look at hers as well when we return."
