Chapter 136: A 99-Level Gigantic Dragonite!

As Hikaru and Hayashi Ten walked back, smiling and chatting, Hayashi Fire—the other youth accompanying Hayashi Ten—was stunned.

He and Hayashi Ten came from the same family and were naturally familiar with each other's personalities.

Hayashi Ten was notorious for being unyielding, unwilling to give in to others unless absolutely necessary.

Even though Hikaru had shown humility earlier, Hayashi Fire couldn't fathom how Hayashi Ten, who rarely softened his stance, could end up in such high spirits.

"Did you two... make up?" Hayashi Fire asked, utterly perplexed.

"Make up? I was the one being shortsighted earlier. Hikaru is an incredible Trainer. My little sister was right—it's only fair that he should be allowed to capture a Dratini on Dragon Island!"

Hayashi Fire's face was full of confusion.

"Wait, what?"

"That was just a joke," Hayashi Ten clarified, though he glanced at Hikaru with a mixture of newfound respect and embarrassment.

Sakura quietly moved beside Hikaru, gently linking her arm with his.

"Brother, you're amazing!" she whispered with a grin.

Hikaru flicked her nose lightly.

"Next time, don't keep things from me. Let me know ahead of time."

"Fine, fine~ Next time for sure!" Sakura pouted playfully, though she quickly changed the subject with an excited tone.

"By the way, don't be too surprised when you see Dragon Pool later!"

Hikaru smirked.

"Surprised? Me? I've seen a lot, Sakura. I've even commanded Kyogre in battle! What could possibly surprise me here?"

Sakura rolled her eyes.

"We'll see about that," she teased.

Hikaru, intrigued, decided to press further.

"So, what's the deal with this Dragon Pool?"

"Legend has it," Sakura began, her voice dropping to a conspiratorial whisper, "that beneath the island lies a massive Dragon Crystal, buried deep underground. The crystal interacts with the subterranean water to create the pool. For Dragon Pokémon and Dragon Tamers, it's incredibly beneficial!"

Hayashi Ten added more context.

"The pool can enhance the strength of Dragon-type Pokémon, boost their potential, and there's even a small chance that—"

He hesitated, cutting himself off.

Hikaru noticed the pause but decided not to push. Clearly, there were aspects of the Dragon Pool that Hayashi Ten wasn't comfortable sharing with an outsider.

---

As they continued deeper into the island, a resonant cry echoed through the air.

"Roar~!"

The Dratini and Dragonair on the beach suddenly perked up, as if answering a summons. They took to the skies, heading toward the center of the island.

"The Dragon Pool has opened. Let's go!"

Hayashi Ten and Hayashi Fire summoned their Dragonite, while Sakura called out her Dragonair.

Hikaru reached for Latias's Poké Ball, but Sakura stopped him.

"Why not ride with me, brother?"

Her Dragonair gracefully twirled in the air before descending to Hikaru's side.

Deciding to respect local customs, Hikaru complied and climbed onto Dragonair's back.

He couldn't help but notice how silky and smooth Dragonair's skin felt, like the finest satin.

With three Dragon Pokémon leading the way, they soared toward the island's center.

---

Dragon Island was a sight to behold.

As they flew over the dense forest, Hikaru couldn't believe his eyes.

There were Dragonite, Haxorus, Altaria, Axew... Pokémon that were incredibly rare in the outside world were commonplace here.

The sheer abundance of Dratini and Dragonair was especially staggering.

"This place is priceless," Hikaru murmured to himself.

Eventually, they reached the center of the island.

A massive stone mountain loomed before them, its size and grandeur leaving Hikaru speechless.

The mountain was hollow, resembling a giant basin from above. Countless Dragon Pokémon were gathered at its base, waiting for their turn to enter.

"That's the Dragon Pool," Sakura whispered.

Hikaru could only nod, his awe evident.

The area was teeming with high-level Pokémon, many of which were at or above Level 50.

But what truly took Hikaru's breath away was what came next.

---

"Roar~!"

A deafening cry tore through the sky, and the clouds themselves seemed to part as a colossal Dragonite descended from above.

This Dragonite was like a moving mountain, towering at an estimated 30-40 meters tall. Just one of its claws was as large as an average Dragonite.

"Holy...!"

Hikaru's jaw dropped.

This was the second most powerful Pokémon he had ever seen in his life.

Sakura giggled at his reaction.

"This is the leader of Dragon Island and the strongest Dragonite here!"

Hikaru could tell.

Level 99.

Even among legends, this Dragonite was a force to be reckoned with.

Yet, as Hikaru studied the gigantic Dragonite, he noticed signs of its age. Its vitality was waning, its once limitless energy now ebbing away.

Even so, it radiated unmatched strength.

"Roar~!"

The colossal Dragonite let out another roar, prompting all the other Dragon Pokémon to join in unison.

Its piercing gaze swept over the crowd, pausing momentarily on the humans below before settling briefly on Hikaru.

Sensing Hikaru's lack of Dragon Tamer Power, the Dragonite moved on without much interest.

With a final, thunderous flap of its wings, it soared back into the sky, leaving a massive gust in its wake.

The other Dragon Pokémon began filing into the mountain's hollow interior.

"Let's go," Hayashi Ten said, leading the way.

Inside, the mountain was like a giant hive, with countless branching tunnels.

Only four central pathways were large enough for humans and their Pokémon.

"Alright, Sakura, Hikaru. You two take one path. Hayashi Fire and I will take the others," Hayashi Ten said.

"Got it," Sakura replied.

Turning to Hikaru, she added, "Brother, when you get inside, you'll see a pool filled with steaming water. Have your Charizard and Latias soak in it. You can join them if you want—it's like a hot spring."

"Understood," Hikaru nodded.

"Also," Sakura added with a mischievous grin, "bring Latias out."

"Latias?" Hikaru asked, confused but compliant.

"Hmm~?" Latias appeared with a curious hum, only to be whisked away by Sakura.

"I'm borrowing Latias for a bit!" Sakura declared.

Latias, still half-dazed, glanced at Hikaru, who nodded in reassurance. Reluctantly, Latias let Sakura lead her away, even transforming into her human form mid-way.

Hikaru could only watch, shaking his head with a smile.
