Summoning Pokémon in Naruto

Chapter 38: Chapter 38: Art is an Explosion!

Uchiha Hayato stood amidst the scattered remains, his heart heavy and cold as ice.

He had anticipated bloodshed during this mission, but the sight of the brutally slain villagers ignited an uncontrollable anger within him.

"Boom!"

A loud explosion pierced the tense silence, drawing everyone's gaze toward the flare that had just erupted into the sky.

"Oh? Is it Konoha's reinforcements already?" Ameyuri Ringo raised a brow, her lips curling into a sinister smile. "I didn't think they'd arrive so quickly!"

"Only one day has passed, yet they've already reached here," muttered one of the Kumogakure shinobi, their tone filled with disbelief.

"Konoha, huh?" A gleam of excitement flashed in A's eyes. "I'll show them that Kumogakure is the strongest!"

"Wait!" Another voice, belonging to Chūji, interjected, his tone grave. "I sense no large-scale chakra signatures. Something's off!"

"Does it matter?" Jūzō Biwa, with a sinister grin, hoisted his explosive blade, Kubikiribōchō, over his shoulder. "Whatever they've sent, my blade will tear them to shreds!"

As the shinobi exchanged words, the atmosphere shifted abruptly. A wave of blistering heat descended from above, as if the heavens themselves had unleashed a fiery judgment.

"What is that?" A perplexed Chūnin squinted upward, his face etched with confusion. "It looks like… a ball of fire?"

"Take cover! It's an attack!" Chūji's shout rang out, his face now twisted in alarm.

But it was too late.

The fireball struck with a thunderous roar, sending shockwaves rippling across the battlefield. The ground quaked, and a dense cloud of dust and debris consumed the area, forcing several Kirigakure shinobi to stumble and fall.

"Lord Dodai, what's going on?!" Kumogakure's shinobi turned to their leader, their voices filled with unease.

Dodai's expression darkened as he barked, "Everyone, use Water Release techniques!"

"Water Release: Water Bullet Jutsu!"

"Water Release: Water Dragon Jutsu!"

Streams of water shot toward the inferno, but their efforts were met with resistance as the flames surged with unnatural vigor, pushing back against the torrents of water.

From within the smoke, a figure emerged—a blur of motion that struck like a comet, sending one of the Kirigakure shinobi flying.

"What… is that? A monkey?!"

The bizarre sight left the shinobi dumbfounded. None of them had ever encountered such a creature before.

"How interesting," Jūzō chuckled, hefting his blade. "A wild monkey dares to challenge me? Let's see if it can survive against my explosions!"

Meanwhile, Dodai's expression grew more complex as he muttered under his breath, "Could it really be… Konoha's Pokémon? How could they arrive so quickly?"

On the battlefield

Infernape shook the dust from its fiery fur, its sharp eyes scanning its surroundings. It quickly realized that the enemy shinobi specialized in Water Release—its natural weakness.

Hayato's voice rang out from above, commanding, "Good work, Koyake! Use Flamethrower!"

As Infernape unleashed a torrent of flames, Hayato followed with his own attack.

"Feel the wrath of Lightning Inferno Dance!"

Electricity crackled around Hayato as he gathered chakra into his palms, creating a dazzling display of electrical arcs. With a shout, he unleashed a devastating bolt of lightning, merging it with Infernape's blazing flames.

The resulting collision of fire and lightning tore through the battlefield like a raging storm. The explosion shook the earth, sending shockwaves rippling outward. Smoke and debris blanketed the area, swallowing the combatants in an apocalyptic haze.

"Fall back! Everyone, retreat immediately!" Dodai shouted, his voice tinged with panic.

But the chaos was too swift and all-encompassing. The combined forces of the explosion overwhelmed the shinobi, leaving destruction in its wake. When the smoke cleared, a massive crater scarred the earth, its edges still smoldering with residual fire and electricity.

Infernape emerged from the nearby forest, its fur singed and expression shaken by the sheer scale of the attack.

Hayato descended from the sky, his voice calm but resolute. "This… is what I call a failed Sage Technique."

His tone carried a faint regret. Infernape had yet to fully adapt to its new power, and Hayato himself struggled to balance the force required for this technique. The premature release of Lightning Inferno Dance had unleashed a catastrophic wave of destruction.

As Hayato assessed the aftermath, a voice filled with rage and despair interrupted his thoughts.

"Why? Why did you do this?!" A Kirigakure shinobi, blood trickling from his lips, glared at Hayato, his voice trembling with fury. "What have you done?!"

Hayato turned his cold gaze toward the shinobi, his voice carrying across the battlefield. "You're asking me why? Did you expect your actions to go unchallenged? You attacked Uzushio and slaughtered innocents. Apologize to the people you've killed before questioning me!"

The shinobi faltered, his words caught in his throat.

Amidst the tension, Dodai stepped forward, his expression unreadable.

"Uchiha Hayato, is it?" he began, his tone measured but tinged with calculation. "The Land of Lightning welcomes all talents. Join Kumogakure, and you'll have power and status equal to 'B.' Your strength deserves recognition."

Hayato smirked mischievously. "Why don't you have your Kumogakure shinobi join Konoha instead? Life in the Land of Fire would suit you better."

Dodai's expression darkened, his patience wearing thin.

"Capture him," Dodai ordered, his voice steely. "If that's impossible, kill him. And seize Uzushio's sealing techniques while you're at it."

As the shinobi closed in, Hayato's smirk faded, replaced by the steely determination of a man ready to defend his allies and ideals. "Let's see if you're ready for what's coming."
