Superman's Saiyan little brother

Chapter 394: Chapter 395: You Had the Chance, But You Weren’t Up to It

"Of course, I'd be more than happy if Asgard never came to Earth to cause us trouble again!" Robert confidently nodded and smiled. However, what he truly thought remained a mystery, even to King Odin.

Despite not knowing Robert's real intentions, Odin had no other choice. He could either descend in person to forcibly take Thor away or let Thor complete his training to shut Robert up. The best choice was obvious.

Especially since Odin sensed a familiar gaze upon him—not Clark's, whom he had fought before, but the Ancient One's!

"Buzz!" Ultimately, Odin made a decision. As Robert's words fell, Mjolnir in Peter Parker's hand flew up and landed in Thor's hand...

"Huh? What's happening?" Peter Parker opened his eyes in confusion, watching Mjolnir fly into Thor's hand. He had just prepared to absorb Mjolnir's power, and Robert had said that Thor's situation wouldn't be resolved anytime soon. So why did Mjolnir suddenly fly away?

"What's going on? Did Thor regain control of Mjolnir? Is he an enemy or...?" Barry Allen, who had just returned, was also puzzled. Although his speed was slightly slower than Pietro's, he mainly took longer because he lost his way when the Ki blast disappeared.

"Not sure, but judging by Robert's reaction, it shouldn't be too serious, right?" Johnny Storm scratched his head, hesitantly looking at Peter Parker. "But I wonder if Peter will still be able to use Mjolnir..."

"It's fine. It wasn't my hammer to begin with. If I can't use it, I can still work on enhancing my internal thunder power..." Peter Parker sighed at Johnny's words but quickly adjusted his mindset.

"Zzz!" On the other side, when Mjolnir flew into Thor's hand, bursts of thunder power erupted. Both Thor souls sensed the familiar power, their eyes lighting up. But the thunder power only flowed into Asgard's Thor, blasting towards Hydra Thor.

"Ssh!" In an instant, Hydra Thor's soul was utterly destroyed by this power, merging back into Asgard's Thor. At that moment, Robert's lips curled into a smile as he acted.

"Buzz!" As Robert moved, Mjolnir flew out of Thor's hand, floating mid-air. Massive thunder power burst from Mjolnir, flowing into Robert's hand and then transmitted to Peter Parker.

Robert had no use for Mjolnir's thunder power, but for Peter, it was a significant opportunity to regain some strength lost due to the separation from Mjolnir.

"Robert! What are you doing?!" Odin's furious voice echoed in Robert's ears.

"What? Can't I take some interest? No storage fee for keeping Mjolnir here so long? We rescued your son from Hydra, and you won't pay a little interest?" Robert shrugged, imagining the furious Odin in Asgard. He laughed, saying, "Rest assured, if I wanted to take Mjolnir, I wouldn't wait until now. I'm just drawing some thunder power. It's nothing for Mjolnir. Besides, your son isn't in the right state to wield such power; he might lose control..."

"Zzz!" As Robert spoke, Odin refocused on Thor. Thor's soul had returned to his body, faint lightning flickering on him. This was the first time Thor used his thunder power without Mjolnir.

Yet clearly, Thor hadn't fully mastered this power. His face was grim, his body trembling slightly, as if on the verge of losing control!

Not just seemingly—Thor was indeed losing control. During the mutual devouring with Hydra Thor, Thor had absorbed part of Hydra Thor's soul and lost part of his own.

Thus, even though Hydra Thor's soul was destroyed, Thor was still struggling to distinguish his true identity.

This showed Odin's limited understanding of souls. Allowing Thor to be brainwashed by Hydra was indeed overly confident.

"Hammer! My hammer!" Under Odin's watchful eye, Thor reached for the floating Mjolnir. Seeing Robert drawing power from it, Thor grew furious and called for Mjolnir, only to find it wouldn't return to him.

Given Mjolnir's current state, Thor should have been its primary user, rendering it inaccessible to Robert or Peter during his use.

But Robert's strength far exceeded Thor's. Holding the right to wield Mjolnir, Robert could use his power to restrain it, preventing it from returning to Thor. Mjolnir couldn't revoke Robert's user status, lacking that function.

So Mjolnir trembled mid-air, unable to return to Thor, while Robert continued drawing thunder power.

"Bastard!" The already confused Thor grew furious upon seeing Robert control Mjolnir. He charged at Robert, thunder power surging, aiming a punch at Robert's head!

Thor was formidable, in peak combat form, stronger than Hydra Thor and his previous self wielding Mjolnir. Thor's thunder god power was awakening; he was truly becoming a god!

But Thor's first awakened strike missed his target. He couldn't even see how he was struck. His body flew out, lightning dimming, landing in a pit, dazed.

"I didn't strike first; he did..." Robert glanced skyward, preempting Odin's reaction. "Don't worry. He'll settle down after this. When Peter's absorbed enough power, I'll return Mjolnir and restore the surrounding space... Oh, hit a limit already?"

Robert noticed Peter could no longer absorb thunder power, feeling a bit helpless. Given the chance, Peter wasn't up to it!

But Robert didn't force more thunder power into Peter, as that would stunt his growth. The current power was enough for Peter to digest. Once absorbed, Peter would be Thunder Spider-Man, even without Mjolnir.

"Alright, the hammer's yours. Guardian, retract the surrounding spatial power!" Robert withdrew his power, signaling the Guardian. Instantly, Mjolnir flew back to Thor like an unrestrained horse. If Mjolnir could revoke Robert's qualification, he'd be blacklisted, probably along with Peter.

"Buzz!" With Mjolnir in hand, Thor regained some clarity. His power reached new heights, but he seemed different from his former self.

Previously, Thor would have challenged Robert directly with Mjolnir. But now, he merely glanced at Robert without speaking.

"Buzz!" Meanwhile, the Rainbow Bridge descended towards Thor.

"Wait! Father!" Just before the Rainbow Bridge enveloped Thor, he dodged and shouted skyward, "I need to stay on Earth to rescue Sif and the others!"

"Come back first. Many things have happened during your absence. I need to discuss them with you..." Odin sighed, "I'll bring Sif and the others back."

"I captured them, so I should rescue them. If you handle everything, how will I grow?" Thor's refusal stunned Odin, his words irrefutable.

Odin looked deeply at Thor, finding him unfamiliar. This was a more mature Thor, yet not the one he knew...

"Did I make a mistake from the start?" The thought of arranging Thor's current state step-by-step troubled Odin.

It wasn't just age causing Odin's regret, but repeated setbacks recently, each significantly impacting him, making him doubt himself...

"Fine, your affairs are your decision. Don't provoke him; you're not his match. Handle everything else yourself. Contact me when you wish to return..." Odin, looking older and more defeated, glanced at Asgard, now a shadow of its former self, and spoke bitterly.

The king is old; his heart is no longer strong.

"Yes, Father!" Unaware of Asgard's condition, Thor nodded, watching the Rainbow Bridge's light fade. He glanced at Robert without speaking, then vanished in a flash of lightning.

"He left? I thought he'd fight Robert with the hammer!" Johnny Storm scratched his head, disappointed. "But his power seems impressive, stronger with the hammer than Peter, though without it, he probably couldn't beat me..."

"It's his hammer, after all. It's normal for him to wield it better..." Barry Allen shook his head, looking at Peter. "So, Peter's okay?"

"No problem. Similar to Pietro and Lorna's experiences, he's just overfilled. He'll be fine after digesting it. It won't take him longer than Pietro..." Robert smiled, shrugging. Thor staying on Earth was unexpected but fine. If Thor caused trouble, Robert wouldn't be lenient.

Moreover, with Peter's thunder power at its limit, the next encounter with Thor would be another opportunity for Peter to absorb power. Thor and Mjolnir remaining on Earth seemed beneficial.

"By the way, Robert, are you sure you're not going to college? We'll start soon, and even Kara is going. Our team will miss you," Lorna asked softly, looking at Robert.

"It's fine. We can meet quickly with my speed. I'll get some communication gear from Tony for emergencies..." Robert waved, considering Stark's tech to overcome phone limitations.
