Tensura: The First Reason

Chapter 13: Chapter 13

Disclaimer: We own nothing. This is merely our interpretation.

The winds, which were raging wildly a few minutes ago, became calm, brushing past the figures of the four that were suspended in the sky.

Veldanava - Guy.

Twilight - Dawn.

"He stopped. No, rather, he negated it?"

Dawn's crimson eyes narrowed, his gaze fixed on Twilight, who now held his fist effortlessly.

True enough, ever since he had gotten to know this person, he had seen little to no signs of Twilight's power in action.

This person seemed content with his experiments, hobbies, and musings rather than demonstrating any combat prowess.

But seeing as he is able to easily deal with attacks like a casual shrug of his shoulders...

"He's stronger than he let on."

The same could be said for Guy, whose mind raced with [Thought Acceleration].

The Red Primordial was able to process this new situation in a matter of seconds.

'Originally, the one like me who calls himself Dawn was unexpected but rather fun. However, these two who appeared from nowhere…'

What's more, they were able to break into their fight like so and calm the destruction around them.

But perhaps what was more intriguing was the boundless aura emanating from the figure in front of him.

A grin spread across Guy's face as he threw back his head and laughed.

"Hahahahaha! This is certainly interesting."

He cocked his fist but then folded his arms across his chest as he laughed.

Boredom.

Like Veldanava, the one who had created them, such concepts applied to people like "them" who had been alive since the Dawn of Creation.

The weaklings of the underworld provided little entertainment. Fighting them was a fleeting distraction at best.

Even his so-called fellow primordials, other than a certain oddball, were, to be fair, beneath him.

But now...

"You've gotten stronger, Dawn, even more than me."

The silence that had been broken by Guy's laugh suddenly stirred towards Twilight, who looked at the different appearance of his alter ego.

Unlike his shimmering silver appearance, Dawn had donned the opposite of Twilight in entirety.

To say Dawn's color had now been dyed entirely black would be the correct statement here no doubt.

Long black-hair, coupled with a dyed-in-black regal outfit. Yes. A complete opposite.

"Though you say that, you were able to easily counter that. What's up with it?"

Dawn, curious, had asked such with a slight tilt of his head.

From what he saw, there wasn't anything special behind that attack, other than Twilight doing the same thing he had done.

Twilight on the other hand—

"Hm? According to a scholar from another world, if you hit an incoming force with the same magnitude from the opposite direction, it's possible for both forces to get cancelled out."

Twilight said, raising two fingers and putting them together.

Then after that, Twilight paused for a moment, then slowly, he raised his head up as if mulling something over in reminiscion of the past.

"What's their name again? I'm new... Nelson…, hmm… Screw it, from now on it's called Twilight's Law of Magicule Force. Hmm."

Dawn could very much understand the part about two incoming forces with the same magnitude from opposite directions.

However, to match the same magnitude and force as his was the weird part. Rather than that—

"No. Scratch that, perhaps I shouldn't have asked."

Dawn said as he shook his head, looking towards Veldanava and Guy, who were just in front of them.

"How about it?"

It seemed Veldanava had begun talking to Guy about what Twilight and Veldanava had talked about.

"A new Demon Lord, rather, two wasn't expected by this time, while your summoning was more of a collateral, if anything, I'm glad someone like you did become a demon lord."

Even when facing the Red Primordial for the first time, the creator addressed him as an equal, or with respect.

This was more to his liking than forcing or bending someone to his will.

"So, you're saying, his ascension was by a slight miscalculation, and mine was collateral?"

"Uhm... I think."

The creator, who wasn't omniscient anymore, could only speculate.

Certainly, not even he would do something as invasive as invading other people's privacy, so he wouldn't have known what Jahil's Empire was doing.

For the other one destroyed by Dawn, on the other hand, those ones didn't even try to hide their experiments; hence, their destruction just happened.

"Because humans are such creatures, we have decided that since you two are the first of your kinds, rather than terrorizing the world with your strength, use it to keep humans in check."

In a way, this would also help accomplish Veldanava's goals, as by them keeping the humans in check, it may lead to a more peaceful society.

Or so the creator had hoped.

"And of course, Dawn, you too included. You now possess the power to destroy the world, and I can't have you doing that."

Veldanava said as he turned to Dawn, whose expression soured for a moment. And to make it worse...

"As a certain somebody said: With great power comes great responsibility."

Twilight had quoted with folded arms, earning the gaze from Veldanava and Guy, who reasoned the words.

"That's a nice way to put it."

"I see..."

While Veldanava and Guy had respectively pondered those words, however, to Dawn this was adding more oil to the fire.

"Wait."

"Then, are you saying I should be keeping watch over the humans?"

Dawn said as his lips twitched. As he did, the three primordials who had been awfully silent began to silently approach the four in the air.

As for them?

Before Veldanava and Twilight had stopped Guy and Dawn, they had taken care of the three primordials.

Of course, that was to say, the white primordial was able to keep her own against those fairly, before they had interrupted.

"Of course not, you can still indulge in your own things as long as it doesn't cause... well, world destruction and everyday mass chaos."

Twilight said with the tilt of his head, his finger raised slightly.

'Do you even feel anything for the beings you've created?'

Dawn and Veldanava wanted to ask such words, however, even they didn't think of it that profoundly, and the creator himself thought he wasn't in any place to talk.

"Well, it's not like there is that much of a society currently, but in a millennia or two, both of your workloads might increase slightly, of course."

Hearing that, both Guy and Dawn now had sour expressions.

For Guy, it wasn't even the workload, but rather, having to wait for millennia like that only spelled one thing for him.

"Boredom."

And for Dawn, it was the word "workload."

"Don't worry, Primordial of Red."

Twilight finally spoke to Guy for the first time, addressing him formally by his name.

"You'll be surprised at how much this world can give, over west or so is a True Giant who probably won't necessarily lose to both of you."

Twilight, having said that at first, now paused.

On his face, an uncharacteristic smile as he turned towards Veldanava, who couldn't help but squint at Twilight.

"On that note, I also recommend Dagruel to be on this."

With a snap of his finger, Twilight had sold his friend, Dagruel, out just like that.

"That's... cruel, but Dagruel, yes. He's trustworthy, and perhaps, if Luminous does grow and is successful in her endeavors, I'd like her to be in on this."

"Oi, oi, oi, why are you two suddenly deciding things like that?"

Much to Veldanava's calm words in agreement to Twilight, Guy was the one to speak up with raised eyebrows.

He then pointed at Twilight.

"And beside, what about you?"

"He has a different job; a Demon Lord wouldn't fit him."

Dawn was the one who then interrupted after some silence. Hearing Luminous could potentially become a Demon Lord suddenly gave him, well...

Some interesting ideas.

He couldn't count on Twilight, as he's more of Veldanava's agent than anything else.

And from what he knows, Luminous is currently gathering the Vampires causing problems in Damargania.

"Oh? I wonder what that is?"

"Shh. Don't tell him I said so, you see, he—"

Dawn had, in zero time, appeared beside Guy, whispering into the red primordial's ears, but before he could give any information of importance...

"Oh... Seems like you've grown into more of a chatterbox than I thought, Dawn."

Twilight looked over at Dawn as shadows covered his face. Dawn, seeing the expression on Twilight's face, silently backed away from Guy, hands raised in mock surrender.

"Hahahaha~"

More to their bickering, Veldanava laughed as he watched this in interest.

Suddenly, this airspace gathering was more to his liking. To think their little group has grown ever so slightly.

The Administrator of Stars, King of the True Giants, the Divine Ancestor, now two demon lords, three other primordials that have become demon peers, and finally, a potential future demon lord.

"Our group is suddenly growing, isn't it, Twilight?"

Group. Though Veldanava referred to it as that, what he did say made some sense.

Currently, most of the strongest in this world were gathered in one spot, and it wasn't bad per se.

"However, a certain guard of yours would definitely sulk if he knew his creator left him out like that."

Twilight shot Veldanava a side glance, and the creator who wasn't ready to deal with that right now turned over to Guy.

"That aside."

Veldanava began changing the subject, turning over to Guy as he pointed at the primordial being.

"From today, I will appoint you as [Mediator]. Your job will be to keep the world in check and prevent it from destruction."

"Oi. I haven't accepted anything, ya'know."

More to Veldanava's enthusiasm, Guy had refused, but with that refusal, even in the face of the [Almighty], he had granted him–

[Notice: Unique Skill: [Pride] has been acquired successfully.]

He had felt something form around his heart. Even before he could study what it was, Veldanava had turned to Dawn.

"And you, I appoint you as: [Harbinger], your job is just like his, but it's when the world is facing overwhelming danger that you are allowed to do as you wish."

Certainly, Dawn had sensed it.

It was clever, both Veldanava and Twilight, using a position like this to tie him down.

Was he as dangerous as they made him out to be?

Of course, with the partial nerf came another increase in power. This, of course, was in relation to Twilight, to be more specific, what Twilight had shown him earlier.

[Notice: Unique Skill: [Null] has been acquired successfully.]

One of the most troublesome Unique Skills which would exist was just like that bestowed onto Dawn.

Their attempts to nerf him had only made him stronger than they hoped.
