Chapter 103 Half-Elf / Massive Datafication
Lake Shore Village.
In the alchemy workshop outside the village, Kana is here training his skills, constructing [puppets] that can truly be used in battle.
"Ding ding dong, ding ding dong."
The sound of bells echoed in his ears.
Kana turned his head to look at the prototype puppet he made for himself, ringing the bells.
A hemisphere was attached to a giant bell underneath, its sole function to scout the surrounding radius.
When Kana looked over, it was still swinging wildly, the sound of dinging refusing to stop.
Seeing this, Kana frowned slightly.
Just as he was about to grab his weapon, Raelia's voice rang out from outside: "Kana! Are you in there?"
Recognizing Raelia's voice, Kana punched the bell-ringing puppet beside him.
"You fool, didn't I set it to ring only once if it's an ally?"
Persistently ringing is generally to indicate strangers.
"Still a bug." Kana sighed.
Everything else was fine, except this intelligent system was completely inferior to the spherical puppet he had acquired from the graveyard.
With a flick of his finger, he shut down the bell-ringing puppet.
Kana walked out, but heard the ringing sound trailing behind him.
Turning his head, the puppet hadn't been shut down, following behind him.
"Tsk."
Kana clicked his tongue and simply removed its "power source."
Raelia had already arrived and asked upon seeing Kana: "Why didn't you answer me? Come quickly, there's something I need you for."
Speaking this, she grabbed Kana and hurriedly led him outside.
"Don't pull, what's happened?"
"A ranger from the tribe brought someone back while patrolling outside, about this tall, similar to a dwarf." She gestured for height.
Then she added: "But not as stout as a dwarf, and lacking a beard."
Isn't that a half-elf?
"You must mean a half-elf," Kana said.
Raelia slapped her forehead: "Yes, yes, I think I heard Bobo say that when I came over."
"Let's talk as we walk."
Kana followed Raelia swiftly, listening to her account of the situation.
"The half-elf we found is very anxious; he doesn't look very well, with many scars on his body and his clothes in tatters.
But he keeps asking us for help, asking us to save his kin; apparently, a whole group of half-elves are in distress, they came from the coast."
Listening to Raelia, Kana nodded his head.
It seems the half-elves have arrived.
In the game, there indeed is a group of half-elves that come to the Eastern Wilderness around this time, though Kana doesn't know the specific timing.
Previously, when they had just landed, Kana had Ichard lead a search party.
Though he knew the half-elves came to the Eastern Wilderness nearly before the Blood Race attack, he had forgotten the exact time.
Unexpectedly, this group of half-elves arrived several months later than them.
Having encountered a shipwreck, their bodies covered in scars.
It seems very likely that this group of half-elves met the Blood Race fleet's attack while aboard their ships.
"Since that's the case, let's go directly to your tribe to see the situation. You go ahead, have Alyris and the others wait at the village entrance for me."
Raelia nodded, mounted her horse, and galloped away.
Kana turned towards the orchard direction and whistled loudly.
After a moment, he heard the sound of rapid trample from afar.
A blue and white land bird charged over, stopping abruptly before Kana.
"Splash, keep steady."
Kana patted the land bird and mounted it.
This land bird had a complete saddle and reins fitted, even a layer of armor at the connection of its chest and neck.
When Kana arrived at the village entrance, Alyris, Bobo, and Blake were already waiting there on their land birds.
"Everyone's here, let's go then."
Riding their land birds swiftly, they soon arrived at the Centaur Tribe on the plains.
As soon as they arrived, they saw Abis and Andrew, with a half-elf standing before them.
He wore worn-out cloth garments, covered in scratches, many wounds already inflamed and festering.
Despite this condition, he managed to function normally, indicating that his Constitution attribute wasn't low.
He was applying centaur-provided herbs to his wounds, grimacing. Yet, he spoke urgently.
"We really need herbs and food. If possible, please be kind and send a few healers?
My family and compatriots, many are on the brink of collapse."
Upon saying this, he even shed tears, unable to hide the anguish etched on his face.
Andrew was about to speak impatiently, but Abis turned towards Kana and the others.
"They're here."
All three looked over.
Kana and the others swiftly rode up to them on their land birds.
At a glance, Kana saw the half-elf.
He raised an eyebrow, somewhat surprised.
Well, well, encountered a boss.
So this boss emerged from this group of half-elves?
That was unexpected for Kana.
"There he is," Raelia pointed.
The half-elf seeing Kana clearly recognized him as the leader, and a human being, possibly making communication smoother. He came over and knelt: "Please, kind sir, we need help; my people are in dire straits, needing treatment and food.
