Chapter 61 - The Slum Boy’s Desperate Counterattack (6)
Si Yisi’s fierce determination and ruthlessness made the soldiers facing him tremble slightly, to the point where they truly didn’t dare to lay another hand on Lisa!
At this moment, the roles between Si Yisi and the soldiers had completely reversed. Even the officer in charge was trembling, wishing he could immediately distance himself from this hot potato!
Amid such a tense and oppressive atmosphere, Si Yisi, however, displayed an attitude of complete indifference.
Stepping over the soldier he had kicked to the ground, he spoke in a calm voice to comfort Lisa, “It’s fine, Mother. Really, it’s fine. I promise you, these useless people can’t do anything to me. Wait for me to return.”
Si Yisi’s voice was low and steady, carrying a reliability that reassured Lisa. Trusting her son’s words, she nodded with tears in her eyes, stepping back slowly while keeping her gaze on him.
Si Yisi then swept his gaze over the restless slum dwellers one by one. That glance alone was a warning; warning them not to lay a single finger on Lisa!
Those in the slums who had harbored any thoughts of taking advantage of the situation were now trembling from Si Yisi’s gaze. Who among them would dare to touch the mother of this demon? She was connected to a cultist! Understanding the danger, they sensibly took a step back, leaving an open space around Lisa.
“Let’s go.” Si Yisi tossed out these words lightly.
Without a trace of hesitation, he allowed the officer and soldiers to take him away. Strangely, the ones who felt immense pressure wasn’t Si Yisi, but rather the officer and the soldiers!
They didn’t even dare to treat Si Yisi as they would an ordinary lowborn prisoner. Even when ordering him into the prison cell, they used the word “please.” The difference in treatment was like heaven and earth!
***
Si Yisi was placed in a cell, and the prisoner beside him was a burly man with a buzz cut and dark brown skin, exuding an air of brutality.
There was a faint but unmistakable scent of blood on the man; proof that he had killed before!
“Kid.” The man smacked his thigh lazily, his gaze filled with a scrutinizing arrogance. “What did you do to get locked up? I, for one, evaded capture for 10 years after committing murder before they finally caught me. What about you? How did a weak little pretty boy like you end up in a prison of this level?”
“Don’t tell me you stripped naked and tried to climb into some bigshot’s bed, only to get mistaken for a spy? Ha!”
The man laughed openly as he mocked Si Yisi, his eyes wandering over him with undisguised contempt. Then, without warning, he extended his shackled hands through the iron bars of the cell, his large, fan-like palms reaching straight for Si Yisi’s thin and delicate neck!
He never expected that Si Yisi wouldn’t retreat to the corner at the first sign of attack. Instead, Si Yisi raised a slender arm and deliberately rammed his hand into the man’s grasp!
Did he actually think he could use one hand to resist my strength? Ha! How ridiculous! A vicious grin spread across the man’s face. He could already picture Si Yisi clutching his own arm in agony, hear the satisfying sound of bones shattering!
Crack!
Without the slightest hesitation, Si Yisi crashed his hand directly into the man’s grasp! A tremendous force erupted, and just as the man had hoped, the sound of bones breaking rang out; music to his ears!
But at that very moment, searing pain shot through his own hand!
“AH—!”
Indeed, bones had indeed been shattered; but it wasn’t Si Yisi’s. The one who had suffered a devastating injury was the burly man himself!
“Who’s causing trouble!”
The prison guards stormed in, weapons at the ready, prepared to respond to any violent outbreak.
The prisoner who had been temporarily locked up had been personally escorted by their superiors with explicit orders to keep a close watch on him. If anything happened to him, they would be held responsible!
To make matters worse, the cell next to this prisoner held none other than the infamous fugitive and murderer, Stane. The guards’ hearts pounded wildly in their chests, fearing they would walk in to see Si Yisi’s mangled corpse!
They rushed to the cell bars, only to be met with the sight of the frail-looking young prisoner gripping Stane’s hand in an iron hold; then ruthlessly twisting it outward!
The burly man, Stane, had no strength to resist whatsoever. The guards watched, horrified, as Si Yisi methodically shattered both of Stane’s hands, the sickening sound of cracking bones sending shivers down their spines.
“Hiss…”
Some of the guards with weaker nerves gasped sharply, their teeth chattering from sheer terror!
The criminal Stane’s eyes rolled back as he let out an inhuman scream. Blood dripped intermittently from his broken wrists, while Si Yisi loosely held onto him with his slender hand, his pale face showing not the slightest sign of being affected!
Seeing the prison guards rushing over, Si Yisi let go of Stane’s hand regretfully and raised both hands to indicate his innocence.
He had only defended himself.
However, the moment Si Yisi lifted his hands, the guards, all holding guns, took a synchronized step back! Their startled retreat was even more coordinated than their arrival!
“I didn’t do anything,” Si Yisi said innocently.
Yet the guards before him stared at him as if he were a mortal threat, and they even summoned the prison’s chief warden.
The chief warden was an elderly man with white hair and beard. Si Yisi looked at him and repeated his innocence once more.
“I just moved my hands lightly. I barely used any strength at all.”
The old warden studied Si Yisi for a long moment before making a gesture for the guards to lower their weapons. He then whispered a few words into one of the guards’ ears.
The next moment, Si Yisi was transferred from this crude prison to a far more luxurious location. Aside from a few symbolic iron bars still blocking his way, the rest of the accommodations were as lavish as those of an ordinary noble’s residence!
“Chief Warden…” A guard hesitantly asked the old man in a low voice, “Why are you treating this slum-born prisoner with such respect?”
The old man struck his snake-head cane against the ground and said, “What does birthplace matter?! Not only is he connected to the Blood Moon Mist and cultists, but he is also the first person in centuries to possess an A-rank or higher level of mental power!”
“Just wait. He won’t be staying here for long before a major force takes him away! If we don’t treat him well now, are we waiting for him to hold a grudge against us?”
His sharp, eagle-like gaze swept over the guard before he added one final remark to end the conversation. “You still have much to learn.”

At the same time, the sudden emergence of an A-rank or higher mental power wielder sent shockwaves through the various factions!
Marshal’s Council of the Shuling Kingdom.
“…Is the information confirmed? An A-rank or higher mental power wielder? This isn’t just another so-called ‘genius’ hyped up by the Kaz Empire, is it?”
“Marshal, Sir, this urgent intelligence was relayed by our spies embedded within Kaz territory. It should be accurate! However, the person in question seems to have some vague ties to the Blood Moon Mist. According to reliable sources, the wielder comes from the slums and is currently being temporarily detained in a prison!”
At the mention of the Blood Moon Mist, the subordinate’s voice carried a hint of hesitation.
The Marshal let out a cold scoff. “The Blood Moon Mist? That’s ancient history. Detaining an A-rank or higher mental power wielder over such a ridiculous reason; Kaz really is regressing more and more!”
“Pass down my orders. Use any means necessary to win over the wielder’s loyalty before Kaz takes action!”
“Yes, sir!”
Meanwhile, the noble circles of the Kaz Empire were in an uproar! Some hesitated due to the lingering fear of the Blood Moon Mist, while others immediately rushed to the prison, eager to claim this potential asset!
Lin Xian lazily bowed to his father. “Understood. I’ll do my best to establish a good relationship with this A-rank or higher mental power wielder.”
Ha… Tru had thought he was just picking on a helpless slum rat, but now?
As someone who had a strained; if not outright hostile, relationship with Tru, Lin Xian couldn’t help but feel a sense of schadenfreude. Rising to his feet, he altered his schedule for the day and headed straight for the prison where Si Yisi was being held!
