Transmigrated into a Villainess? I’m Going to conquer the Heroine!

Chapter 84 - Key Character Meng Yao’er

Tang Yuan called her parents to introduce her girlfriend, letting them get familiar with each other’s faces through the video call. She even sent a photo of herself with Jiang Zi to them.

Tang Yuan’s mother was a fashionable woman who dressed impeccably every day, appearing youthful enough to be mistaken for Tang Yuan’s sister. She was also very open-minded and didn’t show any discomfort knowing her daughter was dating another woman.

“My dear daughter, I feel like I’ve gained another daughter! Little Jiang, come closer so Mommy can see you better. Oh my, you’re so beautiful. Ah Yuan really has good taste!”

During the call, Tang Yuan’s father barely spoke, leaving most of the conversation to Mrs. Shi. She continuously showered Jiang Zi with compliments and engaged in casual small talk without prying into anything too personal.

After hanging up, Tang Yuan leaned over and kissed Jiang Zi. “Sister, Mommy really likes you!”

The two of them were squeezed together on a single chair. Jiang Zi tightened her arms around Tang Yuan to keep her from sliding off. “Auntie is very nice.”

“She’ll be ‘Mom’ from now on,” Tang Yuan corrected her. “This wasn’t an official meeting with my parents, but there’s no helping it. They won’t be back until the end of the year. We’ll make it official then.”

“Alright.”

With family and friends all informed, their relationship was now officially public.

The next day, after breakfast, they started packing for the move.

There wasn’t much to take since most items could be replaced. With just one suitcase, Tang Yuan moved into Jiang Zi’s apartment at Dingxinghai.

After a recent variety show ended, many endorsement offers came flooding in, but Sister Qing had declined them all. Instead, she curated a selection of variety show scripts based on Tang Yuan’s strengths and sent them to her email for review.

Tang Yuan, who wanted to develop further in dance, realized she needed to enhance both her professional skills and popularity. Currently, most of her fanbase consisted of CP fans; she needed to attract career-oriented fans too.

As for Jiang Zi, she stopped accepting acting roles, focusing instead on gaming. This newfound dedication showed in her increased live-streaming activity.

Meanwhile, Jiang Zi’s company seemed busier than ever. During the week Tang Yuan moved in, Jiang Zi spent five days commuting to Qi Yuan’s headquarters. Even after work, she’d still find time to stream.

One morning, after Jiang Zi left, the system popped up with a reminder.

[Host, please note: there are 14 days left until the deadline for the main Mission. Please complete the mission of exposing the male lead’s true nature.]

Tang Yuan suddenly remembered that half a month had passed since the mission was issued. She’d nearly forgotten about that scumbag. Before starting any new work, she needed to deal with him.

“What’s he up to lately?”

[After Qiaochu Entertainment collapsed, the Chu family’s legitimate businesses suffered a blow. The male lead has shifted his focus to underground dealings, where he remains dominant. The decline of his legal ventures hasn’t significantly impacted him.]

[The male lead is protected by the world’s rules and currently retains 68 protagonist halo points, which is still relatively high. Direct confrontation would be extremely dangerous, and the system cannot guarantee your safety. Please consider a safer approach.]

[Side Quest Triggered: Key figure Meng Yao’er plans to kill Lu Shan’en and is already preparing to abduct him. Her actions will fail tonight due to Lu Shan’en being partially protected by the world’s rules.]

[The host can intervene in this event:

Turn Lu Shan’en and Chu Yu against each other, deducting 10 points from the male lead.
Help Meng Yao’er gain control over the Lu family’s power, causing Chu Yu to lose a major ally, deducting 10 points.]

[As long as the male lead’s luck points drop below 60, his protagonist halo will be stripped. At that point, exposing him will have the greatest impact.]

Tang Yuan mulled it over and replied, “Exposing him without putting myself in danger is better.”

She didn’t trust her luck—taking risks would probably lead to her demise. For the sake of her own life, she definitely wouldn’t use herself as bait.

As long as his luck decreased and there was evidence to expose him, people would believe it.

Right now, Meng Yao’er was her best lead.

In a previous production team’s work group chat, Tang Yuan had Meng Yao’er’s account, but it seemed to be her work profile. Contacting her through that would be time-consuming. Since Meng Yao’er was acting tonight, Tang Yuan needed to act fast.

She thought of Su Qingyao, who likely had Meng Yao’er’s private number, and conveniently, Tang Yuan had Su Qingyao’s contact information.

Tang Yuan: Sister Su! Emergency! I need Meng Yao’er’s private contact info ASAP. It’s super urgent!

Su Qingyao: What’s wrong?

Tang Yuan: It’s very urgent. If I wait any longer, I’m afraid I won’t be able to reach her.

Su Qingyao: What happened to her?

From the speed of her replies and the wording, it was clear she was anxious.

Tang Yuan recalled the tension between them and how their relationship had soured during a program…

There was definitely a story between them, but this wasn’t the time to dig into it.

With Su Qingyao’s help, Tang Yuan got the number and immediately called Meng Yao’er.

The first call went unanswered.

On the second try, Meng Yao’er finally picked up.

“Hello?” Meng Yao’er’s tone suggested she was in a bad mood.

Tang Yuan got straight to the point. “It’s Tang Yuan. We need to meet.”

There was a brief silence before Meng Yao’er let out a familiar laugh. “Well, if it isn’t Yuan Yuan, darling. But I’m busy killing someone today. How about tomorrow?”

Had the system not confirmed her plan to kill, Tang Yuan might’ve thought she was joking from how casually she spoke.

Tang Yuan said, “That’s exactly why I need to see you.”

“What do you mean? You know I’m going to kill someone?” Meng Yao’er asked with mock nonchalance.

“Meng Yao’er, I know you’re not joking, and I’m not joking either. Don’t alert the enemy just yet.”

Meng Yao’er went silent, then spoke with a threatening undertone. “How do you know? Have you been spying on me?”

Tang Yuan couldn’t explain and only said, “Let’s meet. You pick the place.”

“Aren’t you afraid I’ll kill you to silence you?”

“Let’s meet first. Stop talking about killing people.”

Unable to figure out Tang Yuan’s intentions, Meng Yao’er calmed down. If Tang Yuan knew her plans, there was a chance Lu Shan’en might also be prepared.

She gave Tang Yuan an address.

Two hours later, Tang Yuan showed up at a private fishing pond.

Meng Yao’er, fishing rod in hand, sat quietly in a chair. When Tang Yuan approached, she finally looked up.

“You actually came?” Meng Yao’er looked up at her, smiling innocently but speaking venomously. “Aren’t you afraid I’ll drown you in this pond?”

Tang Yuan sat on a low stool next to her. “Meng Yao’er, let’s talk business—about Lu Shan’en.”
