YOU CAN'T TAME ME.

Chapter 10: Chapter-10. (Come Home).

PARKER'S POV:

"Please, for her sake find the whereabouts of her parents." Her last statement started ringing in my head. I can't deny the fact that she was making some sense. When Sophia learns about it, she will need some closure, but until then no one has to know anything. I glanced at the girl sitting beside me, staring at me with her eyes filled with hope. She might think I am a good guy, fuck me, if I was anything near good. I was a selfish man and would ruin anything or anyone for my loved ones. Josh was already facing hardships, I did not want to add another one, losing her daughter. But I do have to find that man who left Sophie at the orphanage. I took a deep breath and gave her a defeated look, "Fine, I will do that." I lied. Her eyes lit up that instant. "Oh my God, will you?" Nah.  "I knew somewhere in a corner you still had goodness in you." You are a deluded girl.

I diverted my focus from her and asked, "If you don't have anything else you can go now." Rose stilled for a moment as it was abrupt for her but I did not care. She gave me the piece of info I needed to have, there was no point for her to sit here any longer. Until she got herself out of my car, I retrieved the phone and started texting. "Come home." My hand stilled. "What?" I lifted my gaze from the phone to her.

It was just two words. Come home yet it made me feel something different, something warm. "Lyla is missing you." She explained. Yeah, it's been almost a week since I met her. "Because of me, she asked you to live separately. Whatever happened that night between us, it's our matter. So, come home, they all miss you though they don't say anything." I could not help but recall that night in my mind. At first, it angered me whenever I recalled it but now it seemed a little funny interaction to me. "That night...between us?" I asked having the intention to see the reaction on her face. As expected her eyes widened in shock. She opened her mouth to say something but no words came out. Huh, interesting. She might realized that I was teasing her because the next second her eyes narrowed and her lips thinned in a line. "This insolent brat." She murmured under her breath but I heard it. I raised my eyebrow, "If you want me to come home, ask nicely. Calling me names won't get you anywhere." She huffed in annoyance, "For once, I misinterpreted that we can compromise for the sake of your family but no!...you had to show your true colors like a vampire." This childish act of her. I almost laughed at her expression but controlled it.

Clearing my throat, I stated, "Fine, I will come in the evening but now I have some work to do." She raised her one eyebrow, "You do work, huh?" I narrowed my eyes, keeping my voice low I spoke, "Beware, Carter, don't make me rethink my decision."

"Whatever." She rolled her eyes off and tried to get off but I already locked all the doors. "What the hell?" She exclaimed still trying to get off the car. "Open this damn door, Parker, or I swear, I will..."

"I will, what? What will you do?" I knowingly provoked her. "Oh, you can't even think, what things I can do to you." Her words something rose wild in me. "O,h maybe I can." She gritted her jaw, pointing her fingers at me. "Don't provoke me, Parker. I am warning you. Your family did many things for me, I don't want to upset them because of your stupid and arrogant mouth." It was getting interesting. Her warnings instead of making me angry were attracting me towards her. No girl... None has ever talked to me in a such way yet she was here warning me for my well-being. I relaxed on my seat, "You can try all you want...Creep." I knew she did not like me calling that name to her but I wanted to see to what extent, she would escalate things. "You brought this upon yourself, Parker. Don't blame me later."

"Whatever." I threw that same word at her face, which was the last straw. In a blink of an eye, she was upon me. I could feel something sharp near my neck. It was pointed towards a specific nerve. One prick in that nerve and I will bleed to death. God, she was on me, an inch away from murdering me in my car yet I did not feel anything but desires filling me up. "Repeat, yourself, Parker. What were you saying now, huh?" She pushed me using her other hand straining me to do anything. It was somewhat unexpected. I knew she was not the soft one but I did not expect either her to show such boldness. Her face was so near me, that I could feel and hear her fast breathing. The faint scent of cocoa with the killer looks was doing things to me. "Okay, leave." I tried to move her from me. It was not the time to feel such feelings especially because of her. She was an unknown guest. Not in hell, I would show any weakness to her but here she was straining me again.

"Why should I? I warned you multiple times and like a brat you did what you have to do." I glared at her, "Stop talking shit and move." She scoffed and replied, "People like you always do things without thinking of consequences. It's unfortunate Parker that you did not learn the lesson of karma. Everyone in this world needs and has to face the consequences of their choices. No one can escape it. Not you, not me, or anyone. One day, those choices will come back to bite you back. Remember that."

Her words started ringing in my head. Flashes from the past started to occur in front of my eyes. Fuck, no. Not now, not now.
