YOU CAN'T TAME ME.

"Mom, we are here," Christina announced. The three of us entered the hall. While Parker was still not paying attention to anything. Lyla entered the hall in the next second. She walked past both me and Christina and hugged him. "Oh, Parker. I was so worried for you. Are you okay?" She tried to scan him but Parker did not let her do that instead he left the hall instantly. I was stunned for a moment. Okay, this was awkward. And when I thought nothing could be more awkward, Parker returned, he gazed at me, "Come with me." 

I pointed the finger in my direction checking if he was not mistaking, "Me?" He nodded and responded, "Yes, you old lady. Come with me." I glanced at Lyla and Christina who nodded their head. I let out a sigh and started following him. We both walked through the corridor which was opposite to Lyla's office. Though it's been a week since I was staying here, I did not explore the whole house, especially Parker's section. There were two rooms at the end of the corridor. Parker opened the first door, and I stopped. I hesitated when Parker noticed, "Come in, old lady. Let me show you my room." He is a child. He will not do anything stupid. I kept chanting these two statements in my mind and walked into his room. 

"Now, bring me the ice cream." He stated.

"...What?" For a moment my mind froze.

"You said that you would bring me ice cream and that too vanilla flavor." Oh, yeah. I said that but isn't it too soon? Seeing his expression I did not have the courage to say that on his face. "Oh..okay. Wait for me." I turned to exit the room when I felt his grip on my hand. I glanced at him. "What happened?" He did take a few moments before he opened his mouth and said, "If you don't come back and dare to leave me. I would save up all my money and hire an assassin to find and kill you brutally. Remember that."

"Now, go and come fast." He left my hand and I quickly walked out. "What in the world just happened? He threatened to kill me. For fuck sake, can he act normal for once? I rubbed my head as I walked into the kitchen. At first, I got some water. Chugging it all at once, I started taking deep breaths taking all the things that happened today. I checked the freezer and I was shocked to see that only mint chocolate ice cream was there with other goods. They still don't get him his favorite ice cream? I retrieved my phone and ordered some ice cream and other snacks. After that, I checked some messages, and a miscall from Mother. The messages were from Betty and Lilly. First, I texted Lilly excusing her for leaving the bakery abruptly. Then messaged Betty. She sent some pictures of her dresses asking which would suit her. After replying to her, I finally called Mother. "Rose, finally you got time to answer. Now, tell me has anything happened? Is everything all right? Why you ask for Sophia's pictures?" 

"Oh..Mother, mother, calm down. Take deep breaths. Breathe in, and breathe out." After making her take deep breaths a few times, I answered her questions, "Everything is alright. And I asked for Sophia's photo because, today I saw her with her father?"

"Father? Did that man come back for her?" Mother asked. I could clearly sense the shock in her voice. Like me, she was also emotionally invested in Sophia. She always used to say if I had a little sister, she would be just like her. "No, no, I meant to say that it was her adoptive father. She got adopted." 

"Oh, I see. I am happy, she also got her family. If you get some time, check on her. Though she would not recognize you still." I could not help but smile while listening to her words. "Yeah, yeah, mother. If I have some time I will check on her, happy?" 

"Yeah, my dear baby girl. Take care of yourself and don't get yourself into any trouble. Okay?" 

"I will try but no promises," I teased her. "You troublemaker, will you ever let you have some peace."

"Never, old lady," I laughed out, "Okay mother. Take care of yourself and your father. I will call you later." With this, I hung up, when Estella entered the kitchen, "Ms. Rose, did you order something?" 

I glanced up at her. She was carrying the paper bag. "Oh yes, I did." I walked towards her and took the two bags from her. "Estella, could you help me get two small bowls and two spoons." Estella nodded and got it from the drawer, meanwhile, I kept all the snacks in the upper cupboard and took those bowls, and spoons from her with the ice cream bucket. Walking into his room, I saw him sitting in front of the television. 

As I walked into his room, my gaze fell upon his room. I now noticed that his room was a shade darker than other rooms. The wallpaper was brown and all the furniture was either black or dark brown. It was somewhat unsettling suiting Parker's very personality. I diverted my gaze to the man whose focus was on the television. Is he watching Kitty & Mouse1? I sat beside him still keeping a safe distance. "You are late." He stated. "Sorry but tell me, do you like this cartoon?" He nodded without any shame. "They always fight but when an intruder tried to harm any of them, they help each other just like a..." 

"Family." I completed his sentence. "Yes." His reply was uncomfortably calm. I don't know why but now I was thinking if Lyla and Christina are really that good. Seeing him like this, I was having second thoughts about them. "But now, I am feeling okay because I think I got my kitty." I looked at him not knowing what to say when he came near. I was still confused about what he wanted to do when his lips came in contact with my skin. He kissed my cheek and said, "You are my kitty, old lady. And I will protect you in every situation, I promise."
