Chapter 95: Chapter 95: If You Kill My Son, You Won’t Live Either
"Huh? Are there still ships coming in today?!"
"Shouldn't be any more, right?"
"Look over there, what's that?"
"Huh? Oh! It really is one of our ships! Guess they returned to port early. Perfect timing, there's still one last slot left. Let's let them in."
"Signal them. To go to the open spot."
After a brief discussion among the Beasts Pirates' lookouts, they allowed the ship through.
A massive water container, once the ship entered, it was sealed, and thick iron chains slowly pulled it up.
"All right, all done here. Time to clock out, there's a welcome feast tonight!" one of the Beasts Pirates muttered casually, still unaware of anything off. Once the ship was sent up, they left.
"Hey, which division are you guys from?"
Five large cargo ships had also been sent up together.
The Beasts Pirates controlled a prime location, constantly manufacturing and exporting weapons to the world.
During the ascent, they spotted a smaller ship. If not for the Beasts Pirates flag, it was flying, they'd have assumed it was an enemy sneaking in.
"We're under Lord Queen."
Roy, wearing sunglasses, waved lazily.
"Oh, Lord Queen's men? Appreciate the work, brothers. Let's drink together on Onigashima!"
"Sure thing."
With that, all six ships, including Roy's, made their way to Onigashima.
Roy and Izo blended seamlessly into the convoy.
"Big bro… are we really okay doing this?" Izo asked, concerned.
"What's the problem? Eat, drink, and enjoy. Think of it as a vacation," Roy replied with a grin.
"I… see."
Izo hadn't expected Roy to be so relaxed. Anyone else would think they were on holiday.
What he didn't know was that Roy was treating this like a vacation. He had no intention of fighting Kaido. He was just here to check on his son. If Loxus was locked up, he'd take him home. If the kid was fine, he'd leave without a fuss.
The Beast Pirates were a ragtag bunch of brutes; no one would question two more strangers claiming to be under Queen.
The pirates on Onigashima didn't bother verifying their identities either. After all, everyone was here for the feast.
The Beast Pirates were throwing a banquet tonight, and crews from all over had gathered.
"I heard there's a new recruit joining us today."
"Who is it this time? They're even throwing a party?"
"Yeah. When Who's-Who and Drake joined, there was no party. This new guy must be a big deal."
"Look, even all the Tobiroppo are back."
"Wow, it's packed in here."
Onigashima was abuzz with activity, the smell of food and alcohol wafting through the air.
Roy and Izo sat cross-legged among the crowd, blending in effortlessly.
"This tastes amazing."
Roy devoured meat in huge bites. As his body's cells became more active, his metabolism had skyrocketed, and he could quickly convert food into energy.
Compared to Roy's carefree eating, Izo looked uneasy.
"Big bro…"
"You're not eating?"
"This is Onigashima."
"I know."
"We're on enemy turf."
"They don't know who we are. Eat up. If things go south later, we'll need our strength."
"…Right."
Izo nodded and dug in. Eating and drinking, what else could they do?
Kaido soon appeared, flanked by three towering figures: King, Queen, and Jack.
The Tobiroppo were seated below.
"I don't get it. Why does Kaido value that brat so much?" Ulti muttered, clearly annoyed.
"Sis, tone it down," said Page One.
"Why should I? He's just a kid stolen from the Spade Pirates. Not even one of us," she snapped.
"He's a comrade now, Ulti-chan. Don't be like that," Black Maria chided.
"That guy screams traitor. Just like Yamato—he'll turn on us eventually," Ulti scowled.
"None of us were born into the Beasts Pirates either," Sasaki pointed out.
"Well, my brother and I were," Ulti said proudly.
The others just smiled.
Ulti and Page One were technically Kaido's adopted children. Their father had been a Beasts Pirates member, and on his deathbed, entrusted them to Kaido.
Raised by Kaido himself, they always looked down on Yamato, Kaido's biological daughter, for defying him.
They never stopped to think, Kaido wanted a son, not a daughter. He'd treated Yamato more harshly than anyone. Had Ulti and Page One been his real children, they'd likely have fared even worse.
Yamato's rebellion was Kaido's failure as a father.
If Kaido had been a good dad, Yamato wouldn't have wanted to become Oden.
She was just like Oden, longing for the outside world, crushed by a life of oppression from a young age.
"This newcomer must be something special," Drake said.
"What's so special? Just some brat from the Whitebeard offshoots who joined the Spade Pirates. Kaido's overvaluing him," Ulti scoffed, glancing up toward the stage.
Standing between the four was a young man with black hair and black clothes, Loxus.
"KAIDO-SAMA!!!"
The room went dead silent as everyone turned to look at Kaido on the stage.
"Today's a joyous occasion! WORORORO! Let's welcome our new comrade, Loxus!" Kaido shoved the boy forward.
Loxus tumbled but caught himself, shooting Kaido a venomous glare.
"One day, I will kill you."
The declaration made the crowd fall silent, then burst into laughter.
"WORORORORO!!!"
Kaido laughed too, while Loxus looked around in confusion. Everyone was laughing, every last one of them.
"What's so funny?! I mean it!" he snarled at Queen, who was wheezing with laughter.
King stayed quiet. Jack looked furious. Queen laughed so hard that he nearly fell over.
"It's simple," King finally said. "Most of those people you see here once wanted to kill Kaido-sama, too. But in the Beast Pirates, strength rules, and if you have it, you can rise, even replacing Kaido-sama."
"You? Beat Kaido-sama? Keep dreaming," Jack sneered.
"Muhuhuhuh! Good luck, runt! No clue why Kaido-sama's so interested in you, but hurry up and get stronger!" Queen roared with laughter.
"It's not just him. I'll kill all of you," Loxus growled.
"I like this kid! Hey, Kaido-san, what if I accidentally kill him?" Queen joked, pointing at Loxus.
"Then you die," Kaido grinned.
"No way. You're serious?" Queen's smile froze. He couldn't believe it.
King narrowed his eyes. Jack looked genuinely surprised.
"Why? You'd kill me over him?!"
"Obviously. If my son dies, you really think you get to walk away alive?"
