A book called Love

Chapter 1: Ch 1: Whispers between the pages.

The world has been more and more skeptical and strange. Reality hits you hard when you realise that nowadays people just go through their life and are not living in it. We don't have time for our family or even ourselves. Mankind has long been trapped inside their own prison. This bustling city is bound by concrete structures and toxic fumes. It's like a mysterious laboratory where we are just being alive. It is always difficult to enjoy a bit of time for yourself under these extreme circumstances. After all, it's a dog eat dog world. If you don't fight, you will be eaten. For some people, successful life means having everything you want, While for some it's the act of living in simplicity.

Sam Foster is the CEO of Passion Industries, a company renowned for its luxurious fashion line of bags, purses, and clothing. He was a man admired by many who desired to be like him. One could assume he was the chocolate boy of his era. His company dominated the fashion field over the last decade, a testament to his relentless drive and determination. But having a successful life doesn't always mean being happy. For Sam it was a prison he can neither leave nor stay. He was so busy in running a successful business that he somehow lost track of his own happiness.

He had it all, money, fame and influence. Just about everything a man can ever dream off. But he was still missing something and it felt like an empty void in his heart. He was a man who had everything he ever dreamt off, but still he was lonely and depressed. Each day he would reluctantly visit his office and do the same thing over and over again. He had a smile on his face but the burden of sadness was pulling him down. So, one evening after his office time ended he decided to take a walk. He sent off his assistant and left his car at his office, hoping to have a cool off in the process.

He always wanted to have a solo adventure but never got the chance to do that. So, instead of a casual walk he rushed to the bus stop and boarded an unknown bus. He had no destination in mind, only a yearning to escape the prejudice of society. Perhaps it was these little things that were missing from his life. As the bus rattled on, taking him farther from the city center, Sam felt a faint flicker of excitement, an unfamiliar thrill in venturing into the unknown.

When the bus finally reached its last stop it was night already. As he stepped off into the crisp night air and breathed a sigh of relief, he realised that no-one was here to judge him for his imperfection, which was something he couldn't do back at his office. He ran off, wandering around the neighbourhood enjoying his time off. Then something caught his attention as his gaze fell upon a small, dimly lit library tucked into the corner of the street. The sight was oddly comforting, and he decided to step inside, hoping to find something to distract his restless mind.

The library was quaint, its wooden shelves lined with books that carried the scent of aged paper and ink. But he was unsure what to read, so many books but he didn't know what he should read. He was going in and out of different sections of the library when he found a book lying next to the table. It wasn't much but the odd shape and theme was enough to get his attention. Likely so, for some unknown reason he felt a pull towards it. It was a fantasy novel and he always found it a bit childish but still he decided to have a go at it.

He wasn't really reading it, rather scrolling away to pass time and as he was scrolling his way out of the pages, he came across a secret letter hidden inside one of the pages. He found it odd, and being overly curious he decided to give it a read. As it seemed it was written by a girl who liked this novel so much that in her own mind she decided to leave a message.

She writes,

In a fantasy world there's a prince charming waiting for me. And here I am bound by fate and miles away. What if I were a character from the book? Holding hands in hands with the man of my dreams, like the Prince from the book. We would ride the horse and run away from the busy city where no-one would find us and we get to enjoy our time.

Where are you my Prince?

Will you see this letter?

Will you feel the way I feel?

There was a wistful charm in her longing for a love so pure and simple, a love untainted by the chaos of the world. In some way, her words mirrored his own hidden desires, the urge to escape, to find something real and meaningful amidst the superficiality of his life.

Sam noticed that the letter served as a bookmark signaling that she didn't complete the book yet. He gave out a faint smile realising the childish nature of the girl. Yet somehow Sam found her interesting and just to have a bit of fun decided to write a reply to her letter. As it turned out, Sam was obviously good with talks and wanted to show his charm to this unknown individual.

Since he didn't want her to know his name, cause he really was a celebrity, he came up an imaginary name and played as a character from the book, he writes;

Dear miss charming,

How you see the world is really a fascinating idea, however reality is not always as simple as fantasy. Prince charming only exists in books or in dramas.

They give an unrealistic viewpoint of love.

You tucked your heart into these pages, leaving it for someone to find. Was it fate, or a moment of whimsy? Either way, I'm here now, and I can't help but wonder did you imagine your prince charming would reply?

If I were to step into this story as your prince, what would we do? Would we escape the world's noise together? Or would we stay and carve out a quiet corner of our own amidst the chaos?

Your letter was a beginning, but every story deserves more than one voice. If you find this reply, write back. Let's see if fantasy and reality can meet somewhere in between.

Yours truly,

Mr. S

A Fellow Dreamer and perhaps your Prince?
