A Cultivator in the World Dominated By Awakeners

Chapter 73: Rebecca's Benefits

"Are you done? That was pretty quick. Would you like to have a drink with me first? This is wine I got from the Prime Minister—something I couldn't even drink before," said Rebecca to Oliver.

Hearing that even she couldn't drink the wine before, Oliver couldn't help but be intrigued. He walked over and sat across from her.

As soon as he sat down, she prepared a cup for him and poured the wine from the bottle into it.

"Please," she said gently.

Oliver caught a whiff of the wine, and its aroma was beyond his imagination.

It was a deep crimson red, and just smelling it sent a warm sensation through his whole body.

When he drank it, he was taken aback by its taste—far better than he had expected.

He thought it wouldn't be too intoxicating, but it turned out to make his mind and body feel incredibly light and relaxed—yet still clear.

It didn't make him drunk in the usual sense—it made him feel at ease and extraordinarily comfortable.

"Tastes good, right?" Rebecca said.

"Amazing…" Oliver couldn't lie about how incredible the wine was.

"We're finishing this tonight," Rebecca chuckled, pouring another cup for him.

"You're relaxing here—does that mean your manifestation is out fighting?" Oliver asked.

"Yes, I'm currently being chased by a group of lions, and I'm taking them out one by one. I just leveled up to Level 11. Since I'm not too worried about the risks, I can level up faster."

"Aren't you having trouble controlling your manifestation while your real body is just here drinking?"

"No. As long as I'm only relaxing, it's fine. Of course, it's even better if my real body is asleep. But honestly, I'm too happy right now to sleep."

"Seems like you got something pretty valuable from the treasures you took from the Prime Minister," said Oliver.

He didn't believe she was this happy just from having a manifestation and being able to maintain it.

"That's right…" she didn't deny it.

"But you didn't really need that thing. I was aiming for it from the start and didn't care much about the World of Shadows, because I knew I couldn't get it—even if it's more valuable."

As she said that, something appeared in her hand. It wasn't flashy—just a small golden orb with thin spikes protruding from it.

It was pure gold and shimmered brilliantly.

Oliver could vaguely sense a kind of power from it, but he wasn't sure what kind.

"Don't think I lifted this with my hands—right now I'm controlling it with my mind, which can connect to anything and move it. If you tried lifting this golden orb physically—even if you were stronger than you are now—I'd bet you still wouldn't be able to lift it," Rebecca said.

"Are you… a telekinetic?" Oliver asked after hearing her explanation.

It was one of the Awakener classes—rare, but famous for their terrifying power.

"Yes, I'm a telekinetic. And this golden orb is one of the most powerful weapons on Earth—for me."

Rebecca made the golden orb float into the air as she spoke.

Oliver, curious, placed his palm under it.

"Let me try lifting it," he said.

He wanted to know just how heavy it was.

Right now, his body was packed with strength, and his body weight reinforced his physical power. You could say he was strong enough to lift a truck with ease.

"Alright, but I'll stop it before your hand hits the table. Trust me—this could bring the whole building down," she warned.

Just as she said that, Oliver's eyes widened instinctively.

In an instant, his hand slammed down onto the table before the orb lost its weight.

It was exactly as Rebecca said. Or worse—he truly couldn't lift it, even for a second.

"Doesn't that kind of weight mess with your mind?" Oliver asked, genuinely curious about how telekinesis worked.

"Weight has nothing to do with telekinetic power. That's why telekinetics seek small objects with massive weight—large, lightweight objects are actually harder to control. The higher our level, the faster and farther our control extends, and the more things we can manage. With this golden orb, I can be considered extremely dangerous."

"Would you dare send that golden orb into my void?" Oliver asked, teasing her after she claimed she became very dangerous with the orb.

Hearing the question, Rebecca shook her head with a wry smile.

"This orb is incredibly dense—far, far harder than the World of Shadows. It'd be difficult to erase even with your void power. But no—I wouldn't take the risk. I don't want it damaged, not even a little," she said, easily admitting defeat.

Oliver couldn't help but give her a strange look. In front of him now, she showed no arrogance at all—completely different from how she was when he first met her.

Tok! Tok! Tok!

Suddenly, Oliver heard a knock on the room's door.

"Who is it?" he asked instinctively.

"Oh—I just remembered. I called for two massage therapists earlier. Didn't think they'd arrive this late," Rebecca answered as she stood up.

But she didn't move right away. She looked at him and asked, "Would you like a massage too? After all, there are two therapists—we can each have one."

Being asked that, Oliver couldn't help but be interested.

As a mechanic who worked in a garage, his body often ached. He used to ask his younger sister for massages, but they never really satisfied him.

He had always wanted to hire a professional massage therapist, but he never had the money. After all, just an hour with a massage therapist could cost around $100—and that's for the cheapest one.

He had never thought about it again since becoming a Cultivator, since his body no longer ached.

Still, the idea sounded appealing—if only to make his body feel even better.

"Maybe I'll give it a try," he said after a moment of thought.

When he agreed, Rebecca smiled faintly—she seemed pleased.

She immediately stepped toward the door and opened it.

Oliver saw two young women standing at the door—looking like they were in their early twenties. Probably university students working part-time.

Of course, even if they were young, if they could work as massage therapists in a hotel like this, they had to be very skilled.

The two of them looked surprised to see such a beautiful woman in a luxurious gown opening the door.

Their eyes couldn't help but scan her from head to toe, even more shocked as they realized she might be younger than them—though it wasn't obvious due to her glamorous style making her look more mature.

"Miss, sorry for making you wait. We were going to come right away after you booked us, but something came up," one of the women said hurriedly.

For a moment, Rebecca's eyes turned sharp—but they quickly softened, as if she couldn't bring herself to show hostility.

She nodded casually without speaking, gesturing for them to come inside.
