Chapter 75: To The Chaotic World Again
Oliver and Rebecca were left alone in the room.
It would be one thing if they were sitting on chairs, but they were on the same bed—one lying down, the other sitting.
Oliver looked at the woman, wondering whether she truly didn't mind his presence or simply didn't have the courage to ask him to leave.
Or maybe she didn't just not mind, but actually wanted something to happen between them?
As he continued to wonder, the woman laid down again, resting her head on her raised arm, gazing toward him.
Oliver gave her a serious look.
"You know, you're provoking a wild lion?" said Oliver.
"Don't talk like I'm afraid of a wild lion. I actually like a wild lion," she replied.
"If I have to say it, I really admire anyone with power—especially if it's a man my age who's that talented. It's just satisfying to see a man like that, you know? They're the rarest kind of creature. I've traveled the world and only found one here."
Oliver: "..."
Whoosh!
He moved suddenly, genuinely feeling provoked.
His hand reached for hers and pulled her, causing her body to fall onto his. He wrapped his arms around her slim but curvy frame.
In a situation like this, nearly any man would forget he had a girlfriend—especially someone like Oliver, who came from a humble background and didn't exactly have a noble mindset.
Though surprised, Rebecca gave a faint smile, almost like she was holding back laughter.
"Good thing I'm beautiful," she said.
"Yeah, you're lucky," Oliver admitted.
And holding her really did feel incredibly comfortable.
He couldn't help but run his hand along her back, and it slid further down to her thighs—so soft it was hard to describe with words.
He then shifted his body, and she responded by hugging him back with one hand, while the other hand gently caressed his chest.
"I don't think you could ever fall in love with a woman like me, but I'll gladly let you hold me. Yeah, I'm happy to be close to you. Besides how nice it is to be with a strong man, it benefits me too. Just once with you, and I already got something I really wanted," she said with a laugh.
Oliver was too lazy to respond to her words. He held her tighter and kissed her tempting red lips, sucking them hard.
She didn't seem surprised this time. Instead, she returned the kiss with the same intensity.
But Oliver pulled back after a while.
"So this is what the lips of a woman who called me a country bumpkin feel like," he said.
"What do they feel like?" Rebecca asked, surprised.
"Hard to explain... maybe like drugs."
"That comparison makes no sense—but I guess that means my lips are amazing. Maybe because I've hurt so many people with my words."
"Can you turn off the lights?"
"Of course!"
Click!
Rebecca just needed to snap her fingers, and the main lights in the room went off, leaving only the dim mood lighting.
She'd already done so much today and had no plans for anything more. She wanted to sleep; her eyes were growing heavy.
When she was sleepy, desire was easy to suppress.
What mattered most was that tonight, he'd fall asleep hugging a beautiful woman.
He quickly drifted off to sleep, warmed and comforted by Rebecca's soft body.
It was a deep sleep. Even more surprising, he dreamed of becoming a king ruling over the entire Earth—a dream that brought a smile to his sleeping face.
Morning came, and he woke up rather late.
The sun was already shining brightly when he opened his eyes.
He sat up instinctively—Rebecca was no longer in his arms. She had clearly woken up earlier, but he didn't know where she was.
Naturally, his mind was completely clear this morning. There was no lingering effect from alcohol or anything else. Still, it was hard for him to feel regret or call his actions foolish, considering the comfort he had experienced.
"Eh…"
Oliver was then stunned to see a new set of men's clothes still in a box, lying on the bed—complete with a shirt, pants, and shoes. They were luxury clothes, but meant for casual wear.
On top of them was a piece of paper with beautiful handwriting:
(You were sleeping so soundly, I couldn't bear to wake you. I'm still in this building, just having a few meetings with business partners on the rooftop. Come up if you want breakfast!)
After reading the note, Oliver went to the bathroom. He took a quick shower and put on the clothes the woman had left him.
But he had no intention of going up to the rooftop.
He just wanted to go home.
He hadn't gone home the morning after spending the night with Ivy. This time, he needed to return, since he had to give his mother a Life Force infusion to keep her healthy.
He drove quickly—today was Sunday, and people were off work.
The streets were filled more with joggers than cars.
At that pace, it didn't take long for him to arrive at his home.
There, only his mother was present, knitting a scarf, while his little sister had already gone to school.
She was doing fine, but he still gave her a dose of Life Force.
The quality of his Life Force had naturally increased since his cultivation had improved.
It not only made Sofia healthier but also more agile and stronger than an ordinary human.
Only after doing this most important task did Oliver feel free to do other things.
Since it was a day off, Oliver planned to send one of his manifestations to the Chaotic World for a solo adventure, while he relaxed at home.
In his room, he summoned one of his manifestations from within the World of Shadows.
Even though that space was frozen due to being kept in a frozen dimension, retrieving something from it only required a thought.
He just couldn't enter it himself unless the artifact was in the real world.
Seeing his manifestation appear before him again, he smiled in satisfaction. The best part was that it had all the abilities he had—and could summon a portal to the Chaotic World.
"Take this!" Oliver handed his dagger to the manifestation.
He wasn't too worried about losing the blade, so he let it carry it.
But that was all he gave it. The dagger was placed in the pocket of its pants, since it was small enough.
Using his manifestation, he then summoned the portal.
All portals looked the same, but as Oliver observed it, he felt like it wasn't the usual portal he'd summon.
'Could it be that my manifestation also has its own unique portal that leads to a different place?' he wondered.
Naturally, this made things more exciting—different locations meant different opportunities.
The manifestation stepped in without hesitation, while his real body remained in his room.
