A Cultivator in the World Dominated By Awakeners

Chapter 77: Luck or Bad Luck?

The massacre carried out by the Eagle King was not short-lived.

He moved from region to region. The others did not act, merely helping him gather Monster Cores.

Oliver saw no other humans as far as his eyes could see.

It seemed like this was one of those areas far away from any human-inhabited zones.

When the Eagle King finally stopped his rampage, Oliver noticed that they were flying higher and higher.

They pierced through layer after layer of clouds until Oliver saw a massive black cloud.

He couldn't help but be amazed when he saw that the top of this cloud was actually filled with giant trees.

Many eagle nests sat atop these trees, each resembling a football stadium in shape—but around ten times larger—made of intertwined tree branches that melded together perfectly.

The most astonishing of them all was the nest on the largest tree, spanning nearly a hundred times the size of a football field, like a small city.

All the giant eagles flew toward that massive nest and dropped all the Monster Cores they had collected.

Each Monster Core was massive, and the total number easily exceeded ten thousand. When Oliver looked at them, it was like seeing an unfathomable amount of wealth.

Then, he was dropped in front of the Eagle King by the eagle that had captured him.

The Eagle King stood before him with his wings spread, making Oliver realize just how enormous he was.

Surrounded by all the other eagles, he felt like an ant in the midst of giants.

Unfortunately, in terms of strength, he was just as insignificant.

"This human is a Cultivator—excellent for a sacrifice after my evolution—but he's too weak, only at the Seventh Stage of the Spiritual Master Realm. I need someone at least at the Earth Master Realm," the Eagle King said, visibly dissatisfied.

"Your Majesty, it's extremely difficult to find another human cultivator, let alone one stronger than this. Perhaps it would be better if we help this one grow stronger?" replied another eagle, who appeared to hold a high position.

Oliver nearly jumped in shock upon hearing that.

He touched his ear, wondering if he had misheard something.

"Very well, General. I'll leave this matter to you. Give him whatever he needs to rapidly increase his cultivation. Hmph, once he's dead, I think I'll take him as my human form. He should be considered handsome among humans," the Eagle King said.

"Leave it to me, Your Majesty. Even though cultivation is one of the hardest practices, I don't think it'll be too difficult to raise this boy's level considering we've collected many useful resources for Cultivators," replied the eagle addressed as General.

Then, he picked up Oliver with his beak.

The other eagles began to disperse, and the General Eagle was the last to leave, carrying Oliver to his private nest.

There, Oliver saw many smaller eagles, each about the size of a sedan.

Although they were monsters, they acted like servants, tidying up and managing the various areas of the General's nest.

Oliver was dropped inside, and the General Eagle stood before him, eyes sharp and cold.

"Boy, tell me what you need to rapidly increase your cultivation," the General said, his voice chilling.

Oliver found it a little hard to respond. When captured, most people would assume they'd be tortured or worse.

But here he was being asked what he needed to grow stronger.

His eyes blinked repeatedly, unsure if this was real or just a dream.

Although this was just his manifestation, it was identical to the real thing and was one hundred percent connected to his actual body.

It could act on behalf of his real body to comprehend scriptures and techniques.

Most importantly, if there were pills or elixirs involved, his manifestation could consume them, as it also had a Spiritual Space and Second Spiritual Space.

It was practically a clone that could cultivate on its own.

As his comprehension of scriptures increased, so would the cultivation of his real body.

"What do you have?" Oliver asked, too lazy to pretend to be confused or afraid.

The Eagle General was slightly surprised by his response but then nodded and laughed.

"Looks like you really love cultivation—wanting to grow stronger even though you know death awaits you in the end," he said.

"Good. In that case, I'll bring you everything useful for a Cultivator," he added.

He then turned to the other eagles.

"Go to the warehouse. Bring everything useful for a Cultivator," he commanded.

"General, that will take some time. We stored those items at the bottom of the warehouse. We'll need to move everything else first," one of the eagles replied.

"Fine. I'll give you one day," the General said.

He looked at Oliver again and added, "Stay here. Don't go anywhere—unless you want me to torture you until you cry."

With that, he entered a room inside the nest.

Of course, Oliver had no intention of going anywhere.

He waited quite happily, having to hold back a grin.

Noticing a tree in the nest that was large enough for him—though perhaps tiny for the giant eagles—he walked over and leaned against it.

"I wonder what they have, but it's probably impossible for me to take anything with me," he said.

Meanwhile, back in his room, Oliver's second manifestation appeared.

He was curious what kind of location this second manifestation would be placed in within the Chaotic World.

"What the...!"

When the second manifestation entered the Chaotic World, he was even more shocked than the first time.

"Where is this?" he wondered.

He found himself under a dark sky—not the darkness of night, but pure, oppressive blackness.

Before him stretched a vast land filled with graves, each simple in design: a mound of earth with two headstones, one at each end.

If they were just graves, Oliver wouldn't be so surprised.

But each grave was massive, hundreds of meters long.

"Are these monster graves?" Oliver wondered. But in terms of shape, they looked exactly like human graves.

Moreover, there was no history of monsters burying their own kind.

Oliver found the surrounding silence unsettling. Not only were there no monsters, but not even small insects could be seen.

The whole area seemed to reject life itself—only death was permitted here, as there was truly no other living creature besides him.

As a manifestation, he shouldn't feel fear. There was no threat, and even if he were destroyed, it wouldn't matter.

But somehow, he was afraid to his very core.

This fear wasn't rational—wasn't something his mind had processed.

It was a fear that came simply from being here.
