Chapter 250: She’s Here!
The spell circles primed and unleashed bolts and orbs charging at Henry from so many directions, that he was doubtful he'd be able to avoid getting hit by all of them.
[Activating <Hat of Shielding>]
The Blue Shield hazed into appearance at the same time Henry leaped off the tree branch. Bolts and Orbs struck the branch and caused it to explode but, protected by the shield, Henry rode the wave of the explosion, pointing his guns while in the air and firing shots at the Orc Casters. They blocked them all with their quickly erected red translucent screen shields.
At the same time, a dark shadow surrounded the spot about three of the Casters were standing in and by the time they were starting to sense there was something to be worried about, Nyx leaped out striking out with her hooves. She landed twenty strikes within five seconds, cracking the shields.
Henry stretched out the only two tentacles of Extra Arms he still had active and they gripped around a tree and swung him around so he could aim his guns at the back of the heads of two of the three Orc Casters whose shields Nyx was striking at.
The heads of the two victims knocked forward at the force of Henry's shots and their shields vanished as they slumped to the ground, dead.
The Third managed to conjure a massive bulb of Mana that struck at Nyx like a pendulum. She sunk back into the Shadow of <ShadowScape> before the bulb could hit her and Henry landed on a tree branch just then to fire 'Violent Retort' and destroy the back of its head with two Man-infused slugs.

As the notifications rang, a massive bolt of red lightning struck the shield still around Henry and knocked him out of the tree. As he had not felt the pain of the attack thanks to his magical defense, Henry was a bit unbothered. Also, he avoided the fall by using his *Extra Arms* to grab the tree branch he just fell out of.
But then, spinning arcs of red mana sliced through the watery tentacles right after they gripped the tree branch and he fell to the ground with a thud where multiple attacks came at him.
Henry kicked off the ground and most of the attacks missed. Others hit and forced him to slide away even though the shield stopped him from suffering any real damage.
He took cover behind a tree and pulled out a Mana Potion and while Nyx began to target the Orc Casters attacking him and avoiding the ones attacking her, he drank it.

[Mana Points: 345/430]
A feeling of elation spread through him as he tossed the empty bottle aside. His Mana felt boosted and when he leaped out from his tree cover, he was repairing/summoning all five arms of *Extra Arms* and with them undulating behind him, he charged at the Orc Casters.
While he was in motion, the blue haze of the <Hat of Shielding> fizzled out but Henry didn't stop grinning or charging.
He moved so fast he was almost gone from the spot the Casters aimed at and by the time one of them did manage to lock on him and send an attack he couldn't dodge, Henry didn't even try to. He was so in tune with himself that his Perception caught the coming attack and he swung 'Cudgel' just in time to intercept it.
He smacked the spell aside and although the force of it surpassed his arm strength and caused it to spin hard to the side, he was still grinning. He had 'Violent Retort' pointed at the Caster who was very confident in its conjured shield but two of Henry's [Extra Arms] slicked behind the shield and wrapped around the Orc's arm to raise it and disrupt the stability of the shield.
The Orc caught on quickly enough and unleashed a focused Mana blast around its wrapped-up arms to destroy the watery tentacles around it but the single second of the shield being down was all Henry needed to pull his gun's trigger and blow out the Orc's brains.

While that body was falling back, Henry pulled the arm wielding 'Cudgel' back and spun the weapon around to deflect more magical attacks before striking out the three arms of [Extra Arms] that had not been destroyed toward the ones responsible for the attacks he was deflecting.
He had had such a successful and fun time with the tactic once that he tried it again. However, the other Orc Casters were not so easily caught off guard having just witnessed how one of their fellows had fallen and were already unleashing focused blasts to destroy the tentacles before they could slick behind their shields.
*Bang!*
*Shatter!*
Nyx broke through a shield then and promptly stomped on her victim as hard as she possibly could. The Orc managed to conjure a forceful wave of red mana to keep her away and Nyx vanished, only to appear barely a second later, landing a final stomp at the Orc's head that broke right through its skull.

Meanwhile, Henry's tentacles were all destroyed now with the Orc Casters still securely behind their shields. He was sure he saw one of them grinning which was only so attention-grabbing because a sword blade stabbed out of its mouth the very next second.
"Ack!" The Orc let out and as it hit the ground with its knees, the sword shook in its mouth before ripping out and flying into Eloise's grip.
Her hand tightened around the sword handle and she swung it to slice through the head of a second Orc.
"She's here!" One of the Orc casters still alive stated the obvious. The tone made it clear that there was some history there and there was.
Henry looked past Eloise and saw Orc Casters lying dead on the ground under the shade of the trees above. Before Henry arrived, Eloise had gone after the Casters. Or more accurately, they had come after her.
As it had been the last time the group faced Casters, this group of Orc Casters sensed her as one of the most perceptively sensitive people on the scene so they aimed their attacks especially at her. She welcomed it and went after them too.
When Henry arrived, the Casters broke into groups. While one group barraged him with spells, the other group continued to attack Eloise using their numbers to overwhelm her. Or at least, they had tried to. Clearly, she had won that battle and now was here to finish off the rest.
Eloise fired a beam of Mana at another Caster who blocked it with a Shield only to have Henry fire a shot at its head and kill it while it was distracted.
[Kill-Reward: 600 Exp]
Eloise swung her sword at another and fueled the weapon with so much mana that it blazed until she was slicing the shield and jabbing her glowing sword through its neck.
As she pulled her sword free, Eloise leaped away to avoid a bombardment of spells but the moment her feet touched the ground again, a chain wrapped around her ankle. She made to swing her sword and break the chain but Nyx was suddenly there, barreling faster than the brain of the Orc Caster responsible for the chain could follow.
*BAM!!!*
She struck her head against the Orc's side and sent it flying. The contact was so impactful that ribs broke and the moment the Orc's back hit the ground, she was there delivering the final stomps to shatter its chest, puncture its lungs, and have it suffering a slow and painful death that made any last attempt at spell-casting impossible.
[Nyx has received 650 Exp]
[Nyx has Leveled Up!]
[Nyx is now Level 15]
[Nyx's Hit Point Maximum increased to 245]
[Nyx's Mana is now 255]
[Strength: 100 ———> 105]
[Speed: 190 ———> 210]
[Stamina: 95 ———> 100]
Nyx kicked into a new gear and barreled at a second Orc. This one was quick enough to place its shield to intercept her but, empowered by her recent Stat increase and with <Shadow Dash> to kick all that up a notch, she shattered the shield on contact.
*BAM!*
The contact sent the Orc to the ground with a powerful thud, but even then, it had its hand struck forward with a complicated seal already formed that caused a large spell circle to shimmer into appearance.
A shot from Henry put an abrupt end to the attempted spell cast and the Caster's head lulled to the side.
[Kill-Reward: 600 Exp]
Meanwhile, Eloise was slicing through the shield of the last Orc Caster after which she pressed a hand against its chest and unleashed a devastating spell that destroyed its chest and sent it flying. When it hit the ground, it was already dead.
She turned her eyes toward the field at large clearly in search of more enemies to fight and kill but the battle was over. Every Orc lay dead on the ground with no casualty among the Knights who all looked hardened enough to suggest they'd had their fair share of kills.
