Chapter 53: The Treatment Begins
After Noah finished his calls with the guild and the kids, he found Aunt Spetto, who led him to a huge room filled with training equipment.
Layla, Jude, and Lucy were already waiting inside. When she saw Noah arrive, Lucy ran over, looked up at him, and asked, "Big Brother Noah, what is this key you gave me? What does it do?"
"Didn't your mother tell you?"
"Mama didn't say. She just told me to ask you," Lucy said, clutching the silver key in her small hands and looking at Noah with curious eyes.
"This is a key used to perform Celestial Spirit Magic. This particular key is for the Clock Spirit, Horologium. But you'll have to ask him for his specific name yourself."
Although Noah found it strange that Layla hadn't just answered Lucy's question herself, he still explained it to her.
"Celestial Spirit Magic? What's that?" Lucy asked, her interest piqued by the new term.
"It's a wonderful type of magic. Your mother is a Celestial Spirit wizard who uses it. Wouldn't you like to use the same magic as your mom?" Noah said in a tempting tone.
"Yes! I want to use the same magic as Mama!" Lucy immediately shouted, her little face filled with a serious expression.
"Oh, little Noah, you..." Layla and Jude walked over, and Layla spoke with a helpless sigh.
"Sister Layla, don't you want little sister Lucy to use the same magic as you?" Noah asked in return. Layla didn't answer. In her heart, of course she hoped Lucy would also use Celestial Spirit Magic, but she wouldn't interfere with her daughter's choice.
Noah then turned to Jude. "Uncle Jude, you should join us in training. For one, it's good to have a healthy body. And for another, you can spend time with your wife and daughter, which will improve your family's relationship."
Jude said helplessly, "You call Layla 'sister,' but you call me 'uncle'..."
"What, you have a problem with that?" Layla put her hands on her hips and glared at Jude. He immediately deflated.
"No, no, I have no problem. But I have a meeting to attend in a little while..."
"Then postpone it. From now on, let's set a fixed time to train together. Ever since the family company got bigger and bigger, you've been spending less and less time with us. We have more than enough now; we don't need to earn any more money. Family is what's most important."
Layla spoke to Jude with a serious tone. He was stunned; he had never seen her speak so sternly before.
Layla stepped forward and gently hugged him, her voice softening. "Of course, I know you still love us and care about us, and I support you in your career. But you really have been spending less and less time with us. Don't forget to be with your family because of your work."
Hearing Layla's words, Jude reflected on his recent life and realized that he really had been spending much less time with his wife and daughter. As the business grew, he became busier. He was either in a meeting or on his way to one. There were more and more things to handle, and less and less time at home. It had been a long time since he had truly spent quality time with them.
"I'll spend more time with you from now on. I'm sorry for before," Jude said, hugging Layla back, his voice full of apology.
"We're a family. You don't need to say you're sorry. Just be with us more in the future," Layla comforted him softly.
"Then let's begin our training," Noah said, seeing they had finished their talk.
"I'm sorry, little Noah, for making you wait. And thank you for your suggestion just now."
"Not at all. I just thought Uncle Jude could use a little training. He looks a bit weak to me."
"What? I'm weak? Quick, check me!" Jude panicked. He had always been confident in his physical health, but Noah's words had shocked him.
So, Noah did a quick check-up on Jude and found some common problems associated with a sedentary and stressful lifestyle. He wrote a prescription for him and told him to exercise more, and he would be fine. Jude immediately agreed and went out to have a servant buy the medicine.
After Jude returned, Noah began their training. Since it was their first time, he didn't have them do anything too strenuous, just some light stretching exercises. It was clear that Layla and Jude hadn't exercised in a long time; they were covered in sweat after just a little movement. Only Lucy, still a child, was full of energy and didn't feel much of anything.
Noah then created personalized training plans for each of them based on their condition, watching over them to make sure they didn't get injured.
Seeing that they were getting used to the training and that Layla was supervising Lucy, Noah began his own workout. First, he created a Thought Projection to watch over them. His real body then reinforced the floor with magic, applied Gravity Magic to himself, and began his training.
"Is that a Thought Projection? Is Noah training? That looks really intense," Layla said, walking over. She could see that Noah's clothes and hair were being pulled down by the gravity.
"Sister Layla, don't step into the gravity field. You can't handle this level of gravity right now. My own magic power is quite large, so I need a stronger body to support it," Noah replied, in the middle of a push-up.
"How old are you this year, little Noah?"
"I'm eleven."
"To have this much strength at only eleven... you're truly remarkable. Well, you continue your training. I'm going back to mine."
"Mhm. Sister Layla, as long as you follow my training plan and take the potions, you'll be healthy again in no time."
"Alright. I'll work hard so that day comes sooner. Lucy! No slacking! Get back to your exercises!"
Seeing Layla go back and catch a slacking Lucy, the mother, daughter, and husband continued their training together. Noah also continued his own.
When they were finished, the servants had returned with the medicinal ingredients Noah had requested. He found a room and began to prepare the potions. He gave the respective formulas to Layla and Jude, and after they drank them, their complexions visibly improved. Lucy also received a cup of a body-nourishing tonic based on her own condition, which would help her build a good foundation and be very beneficial for her future growth.
Of course, everyone in the guild had access to these kinds of potions. They were all custom-made for each person's condition, making them perfectly suited for the individual. However, they had to provide their own ingredients or pay for them. Noah only prepared them for free, treating it as practice to improve his own skills and as a bonus guild benefit. The guild members were all extremely grateful. Those who could afford it would often seek out Noah to prepare potions for them, seeing it as a way to improve their own potential, which in turn would increase their strength, allowing them to earn more money and afford even better potions. It was a positive feedback loop.
