Chapter 111: Death of Kael?

"Hmm, Primordial darkness, is it?" The stranger, who came out of the cocoon, commented as his gaze fell upon Kael. "I see from my host's memories, you are Moonstone. Didn't expect they would produce such a fine male specimen in their clan." He said, his tone appearing quite distorted, each word is instantly repeating with a fraction of a second behind, as if he were speaking in dual voices.

"You must be the Monarch of Darkness," Kael replied, tightening his grip on his daggers, his instincts screaming at him that the enemy before him was far stronger than the Priest. At the same time, due to the scarlet mana potion effects, his entire body ached, his mana reserves were almost empty, and the backlash of wielding the primordial dark energy was also taking its toll on his body.

The Monarch of Darkness chuckled. "I can sense your fear and also your will power, Moonstone. How about I give you an offer? Serve me and I'll make you my commander." Looking around, he let out a sigh. "Either way, all those potential zealots of mine seemed dead or will be dead sooner or later. I need someone to act on my behalf to revive this place."

Kael stared at him in silence, thinking. "This guy is super strong, but I can see that his body is quite weak. As long as I can lay the dagger into his heart, I can kill him."

Taking a deep breath, he motioned with his hands, separating the bow back into his twin daggers.

Without replying to the enemy, he dashed forward, but before he could even cross half their distance, the resurrected man lazily stretched his arm in Kael's direction.

At that instant, an invisible force punched through Kael's chest.

It was so fast, so precise, that Kael couldn't even register what had happened. A hole gaped in the chest where his heart is located, blood spilled out heavily. "Ack…"

His vision blurred. His knees gave out as he could feel all of his organs started failing rapidly.

The last thing he saw was the resurrected man tilting his head, watching him with mild curiosity.

"Hmm. Still alive?" he muttered, stepping forward. "Resilient, aren't you? Don't worry. After you die, I will resurrect you as the best loyal soldier."

As Kael collapsed, his consciousness faded into nothingness. His body lay still. No movement. No breath. No heartbeat.

*Tap* Tap* Tap*

With slow and unhurried steps, the resurrected man slowly walked to Kael.

Reaching him, the Monarch of Darkness raised his hand, conjuring an orb of blood through his body.

But it was just then, a bright mass of energy erupted into existence.

It shot forward, slamming into him and pushing him back several steps.

"Who?" His eyes narrowed in irritation as the glowing energy twisted and warped, taking shape before his very eyes.

Within seconds, a busty woman emerged from the light.

She was tall, with a curvaceous frame, her crimson eyes radiating a power that was even more suffocating and otherworldly than his. Her long, dark hair swayed, as if carrying the weight of a thousand lingering souls.

The resurrected man, once known as the Monarch of Darkness, once the strongest existence on the planet, frowned as he studied the woman before him.

His instincts screamed at him that she was no ordinary opponent. He could sense it—she had surpassed the limits of human life, stepping into a realm beyond mortality, just like himself.

Yet, unlike him, she had no demon heart, no bloodline inheritance of another race. She was something else.

"Who… are you?" he asked, his voice carrying a rare hint of unease.

The woman didn't answer.

She merely raised a hand, and in an instant, the air crackled with dark energy.

A series of intricate spells materialized around her, each one radiating an immense, suffocating force even to him, and the spell he doesn't recognize, even with his extensive knowledge.

The Necromancer didn't speak a word, and she didn't even have to voice out any incantation or so whatever.

In just seconds, chains of energy erupted from the void through all of his sides, coiling around him like hungry serpents.

The Monarch of Darkness didn't even have the time to react before he was tightly held by the chains of energy.

"Argh…" He tried to get free but couldn't. He tried to summon his demonic powers, but they were just suppressed by the chains. It was as if he became a plainfolk. "Wha… what's going on… Who are you?" He couldn't help but shout. The earlier demeanor of being an overpowered being with everything under his control, from just a moment ago, vanished instantly. It was replaced by a panicking person.

As the Monarch gasped for breath, his form barely holding together, the Necromancer stepped closer, her gaze cold and unforgiving.

"A specimen like you," she finally opened her mouth, tilting her head, "would have made a fine research subject, to be honest."

Her fingers twitched, as if considering the possibility of dissecting him, of studying the very essence of his existence. "Argh… You bi*ch…" The Monarch's crimson eyes flickered with rage, but he was powerless to move.

Then, her expression darkened as she continued, her voice dropping to a frigid whisper, "However, you killed my disciple."

Killing intent erupted from her eyes instantly as she coldly gazed at him. "And in my dictionary…" she raised her hand, conjuring something like a dark orb of energy, "there's only one punishment for that."

A sharp crack split the air as she shot the orb at him. "The Void of Death."

The Monarch of Darkness barely had time to scream before the orb that penetrated into his system destroyed his very soul from existence, leaving behind nothing but a corpse that lay on the floor.

The infamous Monarch of Darkness, the existence to which the Clowns of Ark struggled to go to such great lengths, was dead just like that.

As the energy was taken care of, Necromancer turned toward Kael's body.

She knelt beside him, her fingers brushing against his cold skin. "Hmm… luckily, he possessed the primordial dark energy. It was the only thing that could barely keep him alive. But his heart was completely destroyed andat this rate, he won't last long. The Fountain of Youth could save you," she muttered. "But we don't have that much time to get you there. I didn't expect him to run into this person who possessed the demonic energy of all the things. Had I anticipated it before, I would have imprinted a stronger seal onto Kael that could have let me know his location when he receives significant damage, not life-threatening damage."

She sighed for a moment, glancing at the remains of the Monarch. "And it looks like I have no other choice."

With a final glance at Kael's motionless form, the Necromancer made her decision.

Meanwhile, far away, on the other side of the world, the ancient quill moved across a parchment once again. With each elegant stroke, words took shape, forming a passage.

"And thus, the Shadow fell at the hands of the Great Evil. That is where the legend of the Shadow comes to an end."

"??? Will it?"

The ink dried, and the quill stilled.
