Chapter 239: Unobtained Main Quest Reward
Because he was separated by a computer screen, Polnareff couldn't see the presence of the Stand through the laptop's camera.
However, he saw Diavolo, after being kicked awake, clearly trying to summon his Stand to counterattack, but before he could even activate King Crimson's ability, his head was smashed.
The activation of a Stand's ability is extremely fast, almost instantaneous with a thought—the fact that Diavolo died so miserably indicates that Zuke's speed of action surpassed Diavolo's speed of thought.
Indeed, even Polnareff, who had long been mentally prepared, didn't notice when Zuke made his move.
By the time he realized what had happened, Diavolo had already fallen to the ground as a headless corpse, with red and white viscous substances splattered everywhere, creating a horrifying scene.
"Good!"
Although the scene was enough to make most people physically uncomfortable, Polnareff couldn't help but cheer—after all, Diavolo was a menace while alive, so his death was naturally the best outcome.
Moreover, Polnareff had been reduced to his current disabled state because of Diavolo, so no matter how gruesome Diavolo's death was, Polnareff would only say that he deserved it.
As for the scene of Zuke using "Black Bird" to devour "King Crimson," Polnareff didn't see it at all—after all, a camera couldn't capture the appearance of a Stand.
Even among Stand users, it's impossible to see a Stand through a camera or similar means, unless, like Joseph Joestar in Part 3, one uses a Stand to transmit signals and display images.
Seeing Diavolo's state of death, Polnareff even felt a twinge of regret.
Not regret over killing Diavolo, but regret over letting Zuke kill Diavolo so easily.
If he had known, he would have asked Zuke to bring Diavolo over so he could kill him with his own hands.
After using "Black Bird" to devour the remnants of "King Crimson," Zuke also gained King Crimson's abilities. Now, he could predict the future and erase time.
Predicting the future lasted for about a few dozen seconds, while erasing time lasted for over ten seconds. In terms of duration, it was slightly longer than the time-stop ability.
After acquiring King Crimson's abilities, Zuke looked at the laptop screen and said to Polnareff:
"Now that Diavolo is dead, as per our agreement, the 'Arrow' will be handed over to me, right?"
"Of course. Where are you now? I can come over immediately and give you the Arrow."
In the next moment, a window appeared on the laptop screen—Polnareff's face appeared in the window, indicating that he had completely let his guard down around Zuke.
Otherwise, given his previous cautiousness, he would never have exposed his face directly to Zuke.
After all, his caution was meant to prevent Diavolo from discovering him, and now that Diavolo was dead, there was no point in hiding anymore.
"It would take too long for you to come here. Just tell me where you are, and I'll come to you."
Looking at Polnareff's face, with his right eye covered by a translucent eyepatch, Zuke shook his head.
As a disabled person, Polnareff's mobility was limited, and it would undoubtedly take him longer to travel than an average person. Even by plane, it would take several hours.
If, by any chance, it exceeded the 8-hour playtime limit, Zuke wouldn't be able to gain any rewards from this world.
So it was better for Zuke to go to him. Zuke didn't need to take a plane; with "Presence Concealment" activated, he could fly over unnoticed.
Perhaps sensing Polnareff's puzzled expression, Zuke added:
"I have a way to get there instantly, and I don't have much time to stay here."
"I see. Is it your Stand ability?"
Polnareff seemed to misunderstand, thinking that Zuke's Stand ability allowed him to travel instantly, and he nodded in understanding.
After all, in this world, superpowers were all tied to "Stands," so Polnareff naturally assumed it was related to Stand abilities.
He had no idea that Zuke could obliterate the Earth beneath his feet with a single energy wave—that was beyond his imagination.
"Understood. I'm staying at this hotel in Rome. You can come directly to me, and I'll wait for you here."
Seeing that Zuke didn't refute his assumption, Polnareff agreed to Zuke's request and sent him the address of the hotel where he was hiding.
In the original story, Polnareff hid in the Colosseum, waiting for the main group to arrive. But since he hadn't encountered the main group yet, he naturally wouldn't be hiding there.
Who would stay in the Colosseum all the time? It's a tourist attraction, and people occasionally visit. It could only serve as a meeting point during specific times.
"Good. I'll be there soon."
After obtaining Polnareff's address, Zuke nodded and ended the communication with Polnareff.
Polnareff hadn't disappointed him; he had kept his promise, so Zuke didn't need to resort to the special methods he had previously considered to force him to hand over the "Arrow."
However, before heading to Polnareff's location... Zuke first opened the system prompt window that had already popped up earlier.

[1. Koichi Hirose's Passport]
[2. Dell C400 Laptop]
[3. (Unobtained)]
As expected, it was another three-choice reward. The first two were items Zuke had already encountered.
Koichi Hirose's passport was something Giorno had stolen, and Zuke had come into contact with it while helping them deal with Black Sabbath.
As for the Dell C400 laptop... it was the one Zuke was currently using, a new model released by Dell in 2001.
As the boss of such a massive organization, Diavolo naturally used the latest laptop, and the price was no issue for him.
But the third option was intriguing—it was labeled "Unobtained"... meaning it was something Zuke hadn't encountered before. "Could the third reward be the 'Arrow'?"
Zuke rubbed his chin, the idea forming in his mind.
Whether it was or not would be revealed once he went to Rome and obtained the "Arrow" from Polnareff.
If the third option was indeed the Arrow, it should be displayed once he obtained it.
But... this also suggested that the reward options weren't necessarily limited to things Zuke had encountered.
There was a chance that items he hadn't come across could appear as well.
