Ace Of Terrans

Chapter 989: Donkey Kong.

Shi Lang stood in the void looking at the old monk kneeling on the ground. The person was shivering and the question that Shi Lang asked earlier made him open his eyes wide. Although he could tell that Shi Lang was also a supreme but he could not figure out why Shi Lang would have such a strong aura.

He asked, "Who are you?"

Shi Lang replied with an indifferent expression on his face, "You don't need to know who I am, but tell me, where are the rest of your fellows? Do you really think that the sutras you are chanting belong to the Tao? Or are you chanting something that is making all these innocent people become loyal to the Monk Supreme? Confusing them into thinking they are following the right path, you are leading them astray. Is that what your Tao is about?"

His questions aimed at the heart of the Monk, and more than that, his Tao Heart. The questions were a punishment for the monk because he did not wake up even after realizing that Shi Lang was a supreme.

The old monk began to think and he eventually got entangled and coughed up a mouthful of blood. The young monk next to him, Xiao Meng was shocked, and the old monk spoke with a pale face, "Forgive me, your excellency."

Shi Lang did not speak anymore. This was the punishment for defying a Supreme. After it was done, the young man took a deep breath and then asked, "Tell me where are the rest of your fellows."

The old monk said, "They are all in various cities."

Then he began to tell Shi Lang about every monk that was spread around in different cities. In the end, he took out a small bell and said, "This is location bell, if you ring it, the chime will come from the direction where the closest Fellow is located."

Shi Lang waved his hand and pulled the bell from the void to his grip. Then he looked at the old monk and said, "If you wish to get rid of your demons, preach the true Tao, not to others but to yourself, find what the truth was, the truth you believed in."

After these words, Shi Lang looked at the elders of the Council and said, "I shall take my leave, and you all should try to follow your own ideals after all it is your Dao."

That said, he left the city. Salem received a message from him to go back to his clan as his work here was done. The young beast kin was ready to leave and spread his glory to Kamar and the rest of the people.

...

Over the course of the next few days, Shi Lang spent his time looking for the Monks and waking them up. In last ten encounters, he found that these monks were very deeply enchanted and waking them up was getting much more difficult. Finally, he killed one monk and realized what was going on. The so-called Monk Supreme had been using the scripture to imprint his own consciousness over the people over time.

Shi Lang stood before a Nun, who just watched a fellow die, yet she did not have any reaction and was continuously attacking Shi Lang. The Terran sighed and cast an illusion over the nun. He did not wish to use this trick because it was not perfect, and the spirit imprint was not a normal spell, it was something that turned somebody into a puppet.

Shi Lang had to go inside the illusion and then cast his soul searching technique to avoid damaging the brain of the subject.

...

In the western continent, a young monk was sitting under the headless statue of the buddha. He had his eyes closed and the circular mark of a supreme was visible on his brow. He was called the Monk Supreme and was often seen as the god by the fellow monks.

Across him, many young children sat with their eyes closed as they heard him mutter some words under his breath. The monk Supreme was at the peak of Dao Emperor realm, and could enter the Dao Sovereign realm anytime he wanted but he was suppressing the breakthrough for a better foundation.

He was not aware that his monks in the south were facing divine retribution at the hands of the Shura. After finishing his chant, he opened his eyes and looked at the young children with a happy smile and said, "You all can go out and play. We are done reading for the day."

The children all opened their eyes, thanked the Young Monk and left the hall. The bald monk watched them leave but his smile vanished and he turned to look at the old monk who appeared at the side, and asked, "What happened, Abbot Maiteraya?"

The old monk knelt on the ground and said, "Your holiness, some of the Apostles who went to spread your glory have lost contact with the temple. We have asked the senior monks to check what is going on, but just now, one of them died, and there are a few severely injured. We do not know what to do, please guide us."

The young man nodded indifferently and closed his eyes to search the spirit imprints. He asked, "Who are the ones you asked to look into the issue?"

Monk Maiteraya replied, "Taoist Cong, Nun Tsing, and Taoist Darth."

Monk Supreme hummed and began to focus on locating the people, as he did, he frowned, he could sense every spirit imprint he left on the people, but now there were people whom he could not sense. He frowned, and the next moment, he sensed a particular imprint fading gradually.

He decided to look into it, he wanted to see who was so bold and strong.

...

Shi Lang was gradually easing Nun Tsing into the illusion and correcting her. He could sense the imprint on her soul slowly vanishing but just then he sensed a change in the gaze of Nun Tsing. He waved his hand and before the lady could focus on his face, his face was masked with his visor.

She asked, "Who are you? So audacious to mess with my plans."

Shi Lang smiled and replied, "I did not expect it to work, but I am glad it did. You will know me soon enough, bald donkey. First allow me to welcome you to Donkey Kong."

That said, he channeled his lightning spirit energy inside Nun Tsing's body and directly hit the spirit imprint there. The destructive power was so strong that the imprint almost vanished, but Shi Lang did not stop at once, he attacked twice, and then thrice, to remove the imprint forcefully. In the western continent, the young monk's face turned pale and he said, "Abbot, leave me alone for a bit."

Abbot Maiteraya nodded and left the place, but he did not know that the Monk Supreme coughed up a mouthful of blood after suffering the burn from the lightning energy against his imprint. He clenched his fists and his eyes turned red as he said, "Whoever you are, I will kill you."
