Adopted The Main Villains

Chapter 7 - Seras (5)

Chapter 7 – Seras (5)

‘…..Where am I?’

I definitely fell asleep on Dad’s lap at the orphanage.

But this place wasn’t the orphanage.

Plus, the clothes I’m wearing aren’t the ones I had on at the orphanage, but incredibly soft and comfortable ones.

‘It smells like Dad.’

The reason I could feel at ease was the smell of Dad coming from the bed.

Though faint, it told me this was a place where Dad stayed.

And I realized this bed belonged to Dad.

‘Dad’s bed….’

I went back under the blanket.

I’d already had enough sleep so I wasn’t sleepy anymore, but I just wanted to get under it.

And that blanket was so warm.

Maybe it’s because it smells a bit like Dad, but it feels like Dad is hugging me tightly.

‘…….Hehe.’

Actually, when Dad asked me to become his daughter, I felt like I could fly.

Because Dad was like an older sister to me.

I felt that way when I first met him too.

He was someone innocent yet responsible, but also a fool who couldn’t just pass by people in trouble.

Dad is somewhat shameless compared to big sister, but I think that’s part of his charm.

‘But where is this place? It’s not Eastwell.’

The outside view from the window in the room was definitely not Eastwell.

I could see the ocean that I’d only seen in books, and unfamiliar people laughing.

This place is definitely not Eastwell.

So what should I do?

‘I need to find Dad.’

I got up from the bed and decided to explore this large mansion.

I felt a bit lonely when I woke up and Dad wasn’t there.

Even though I was in Dad’s bed, it couldn’t compare to being with the real Dad.

‘It’s spacious.’

I looked around after leaving the room.

I thought the house itself was spacious because the room was large, but it’s even more spacious than I thought.

To the extent that about 15 more people could live here without any problems.

‘But where is Dad?’

I looked around the entire third floor, but Dad was nowhere to be seen.

That means he must be on a lower floor.

Just then, I heard Dad’s voice and the voice of a beautiful woman I’d never heard before coming from the floor below.

That means Dad is with a woman.

‘……I should hurry.’

I quickly went down the stairs.

There were many stairs, but I went down carefully.

Coming down to the first floor and heading toward where I heard Dad’s voice, there was an incredibly beautiful person.

No, it doesn’t seem like a person. The ears are long.

‘Dad?……’

‘Seras, are you awake?’

Dad stopped his conversation with that woman and came over to lift me up.

Ten years old might be a bit too old to be carried by Dad.

I feel that too, but I’m also quite short, so I think it’s okay.

When I was at the orphanage, I resented my short height, but at times like this, I’m glad to be small.

‘Who is that person?’

‘She’s Siren, Dad’s secretary.’

‘She’s incredibly beautiful.’

She’s the most beautiful person I’ve ever seen.

‘Master, what’s this child’s name?’

‘Her name is Seras, isn’t she cute?’

‘Hmm…. she is cute.’

The pretty lady patted my head.

It wasn’t a bad feeling, but it was very different from when Dad pats me.

Even receiving praise feels less special than when it comes from Dad.

‘Hello? I’m Siren. I’m the only employee of the master who has no one else around. And I’m an elf.’

‘El….f?’

Elf.

I’ve seen them in books.

With trapezoidal mustaches, loving animals, and being vegetarians.

But also a race that despises other races.

However, this lady doesn’t seem to have a mustache or hate other races.

Rather, there’s much more to her than what the books described.

She’s incredibly beautiful, has long ears, and is captivating.

But thinking about her being by Dad’s side cancels out all the complimentary thoughts I just had.

‘So now this child is the master’s daughter?’

‘It was two days ago, so not anymore, but she is my daughter.’

‘Then I should call Seras ‘young lady’?’

‘I suppose so?’

‘Then I should call her Young Lady Seras?’

‘What do you think?’

Dad asked for my opinion.

Young Lady Seras.

Me, who lived in an orphanage, with the title of ‘young lady’?

It seems a bit awkward.

I think it would be better if she just called me by my name.

‘Can’t you just call me Seras?’

‘Are you okay?’

‘Yes, I think the title ‘Miss Seras’ would be too awkward for me.’

‘Alright, Seras.’

Sister patted my head.

‘….It’s soft.’

‘Right? It’s our Seras’s pride and joy.’

‘Are you really a child from an orphanage? It’s really soft? Do you take care of it yourself?’

‘No.’

‘Wooow…..’

Sister Siren stroked my head for a long time.

***

Another week passed.

I’m now resolving a month’s worth of delayed work regarding Westwell.

Although I was just a job-seeking student working part-time jobs in Korea, I’m managing based on the memories of Luminous Caesar’s body that I’ve possessed.

It’s fortunate that I have these memories, otherwise I would have had to learn everything from scratch.

But what’s strange is that this delinquent seems to know quite a lot.

Even when I first used magic, I was able to do so because I had some knowledge of magic.

He’s too smart to be called a delinquent and a thug.

There are smart thugs too, but Caesar wasn’t that kind of person.

‘Hmm…..I don’t know. My head hurts too.’

Soon I’ll have to go fetch the second calamity.

Although I still have some time to spare and am resolving these matters, time passes faster than expected.

So I need to build the foundation slowly.

For example, training more in the spatial magic I use.

Or training my body, things like that.

‘I should go outside for a bit.’

I put on my coat and left the mansion.

Ah, Seras and Siren aren’t at the mansion.

They both went out to buy clothes.

Siren only has the rags that barely covered important parts when she first arrived and two formal suits left in the house.

Seras also has many clothes brought from the orphanage, but for children who grow overnight, larger clothes need to be purchased.

Also, we need to prepare for the children who will come later.

‘Should I go out for the first time too?’

It’s been a month and two weeks since I came here.

Yet I’ve never been to the land where I live.

It’s not much different from how I lived in Korea.

I didn’t go out unless it was to work part-time or buy ramen, because going outside only meant spending money.

Somehow when I think about my time in Korea, I feel that I was unhappy then.

‘But now it’s okay!’

I came down to the village while talking loudly to myself.

***

The village was peaceful.

Birds were chirping.

Flowers were blooming.

‘Nice.’

It feels like a dream that I nearly died not too long ago.

‘Should I buy something sweet?’

Seras really likes sweet things.

She doesn’t show it, but when she eats them, you can feel the happiness on her face.

However, blood vampires don’t normally eat human food.

But Seras can eat human food and even says it’s delicious.

The hypothesis formed was that except for the moment of birth, she never ate blood, so food tasted bland to her.

But Seras, who has periodically sucked my blood, can now properly taste food.

This means that Seras, who is half-human, can enjoy human food if she sucks blood.

‘How much is this cookie?’

‘Two copper each.’

‘Then please give me ten.’

‘Certainly~!’

I bought cookies for Seras.

The reason I bought up to ten was because I planned to eat them while walking around the village.

They also have chocolate chips embedded in them, which happens to be my taste too.

‘They’re crunchy. Seras will like them.’

If I find them delicious, Seras will really enjoy them.

Siren would like them too, but she’d probably say ‘Why is it so sweet?’ while continuing to eat them.

‘…There’s nothing here.’

I didn’t come down to the village expecting anything in particular, but it’s too peaceful.

Usually in typical novels or games, a sudden event occurs at times like this.

I came down just in case, but as expected, nothing happened.

Such things only happen to protagonists, not to me.

‘Should I go home?’

Come to think of it, you need friends to have fun outside.

But I don’t have friends.

So right now, I’m not having fun.

‘I should go back.’

It seems like I’ve been out for about 20 minutes, but I’m going back right away.

It’s like being a loner who goes out on Christmas just in case, but as expected, nothing happens, so they return home.

That’s not specifically about me.

Really, it’s not.

‘Sigh, I should finish my work before the kids come back.’

I thought I had finished my work before the kids arrived.

‘W-who could it be?’

‘……’

Suddenly, I can’t see in front of me.

But their hands were small, so they couldn’t completely block all the incoming light.

‘Seras and Siren.’

‘You got it right?’

‘I did.’

‘I can tell just by hearing your voices.’

‘As expected of Dad.’

As Seras reached out to me, Siren helped Seras climb onto my back.

‘This really makes us look like a real father and daughter.’

‘You think so?’

‘Yes.’

‘But what were you doing here?’

‘I was shopping for clothes when I saw Master, so I followed. But when you were about to go back, I stopped you.’

‘…….’

‘I came out just in case, but as expected, you were going back because you have no friends and it’s not fun?’

‘……’

‘But we caught you, so here we are.’

‘Yes, that’s right.’

‘Isn’t it?’

‘It’s a painful truth.’

‘Ack!’

I gave a light knock on the head of the frank girl who only spoke the truth.

It’s already sad enough not having friends, so there’s no need to be hit with facts like this.

‘Master, would you like to buy some clothes?’

‘I already have plenty of clothes?’

I have a whole six outfits more than when I was in Korea.

This should be enough to use for a year without any problems.

‘You only have 12 outfits, that’s barely anything. And one of them was sacrificed to help Seras.’

‘What do you mean ‘barely’!’

‘Because you only have 12 outfits! And you’re the eldest son of a duke’s family.’

‘So what if the eldest son of a duke’s family only has 12 outfits?’

‘That’s why you have no friends.’

After hearing those words, I obediently followed Siren.

‘Bad girl……’

‘Stop sulking. I’ll pick out clothes that suit you.’

And so Siren took me to a clothing store that looked expensive at first glance.

‘Let’s leave.’

Shut up and put this on.
