Chapter 18:
Chapter 18:
The Holy Son’s Residence was located in a small valley behind the Azure Sun Sword Sect. This was the designated cultivation ground for the Holy Son of the sect. Beneath the valley lay a spiritual vein, and though the concentration of spiritual energy here was not as high as in the Azure Sun Secret Realm, it was still one of the best places for cultivation within the sect.
Cultivating in a place abundant with spiritual energy naturally doubled the results with half the effort. Moreover, the Holy Son’s Residence was not open to everyone. It was a private area reserved exclusively for the Holy Son.
Without an invitation from the Holy Son, no disciple of the Azure Sun Sword Sect was allowed entry.
Even Xiao Yang’s junior brothers needed to notify him in advance if they wished to visit. No one dared to intrude and disrupt the Holy Son’s cultivation.
When Xiao Yang returned to the Holy Son’s Residence to pack his belongings before moving into the Azure Sun Secret Realm, he was stunned to see someone sitting cross-legged on his spiritual jade bed, cultivating.
“Qin Fei, is that you?”
Xiao Yang’s anger surged as he recognized the person. It was Qin Fei.
How could he be here? How did he even get in?
Shock and disbelief filled Xiao Yang’s mind, accompanied by countless questions.
“Se… Senior Brother?”
Qin Fei was startled by Xiao Yang’s sudden appearance. He hadn’t expected Xiao Yang to return at this moment.
“Qin Fei! How dare you trespass into my residence? Get down from there!” Xiao Yang stepped forward, ready to pull Qin Fei off the spiritual jade bed.
“Ah! Senior Brother, don’t hit me!” Qin Fei let out a dramatic scream and fell to the ground before Xiao Yang even touched him.
“What…” Xiao Yang froze. He hadn’t even laid a hand on Qin Fei, so why had he fallen on his own?
“Senior Brother, what are you doing?!”
A furious voice came from behind. Xiao Yang turned to see a figure rushing in, pulling him away and shielding Qin Fei.
So that’s it.
Seeing Jiang Ting standing protectively in front of Qin Fei, Xiao Yang realized what was happening. Qin Fei was putting on an act in front of Jiang Ting, once again trying to drive a wedge between them.
“Senior Brother, why are you hitting Junior Brother again?” Jiang Ting glared angrily at Xiao Yang.
“Hitting him?” Xiao Yang’s gaze turned icy as he looked past Jiang Ting at Qin Fei, who gave him a provoking smirk.
Xiao Yang sneered inwardly.
Qin Fei was trying to provoke him into an outburst, just like before. But this time, Xiao Yang wouldn’t fall for it.
Now, Xiao Yang understood why his residence had been ransacked after his reflection punishment in his previous life.
It had been Qin Fei’s doing. How many underhanded schemes had Qin Fei pulled off behind his back in his past life?
In that life, he had been nothing more than a gullible fool, manipulated by Qin Fei at every turn.
“Senior Brother, I shouldn’t have used your spiritual jade bed for cultivation. Please don’t hit me,” Qin Fei begged with a look of fear.
“Senior Brother, you’re being too harsh! I was the one who allowed Junior Brother to use your bed for cultivation. If you want to hit him, then hit me too!” Jiang Ting shouted angrily.
“You…” Xiao Yang’s hand trembled with rage, and he almost slapped Jiang Ting. Among all the disciples in the sect, only Jiang Ting had unrestricted access to the Holy Son’s Residence. This exception had been Xiao Yang’s way of showing his care for her. Yet, Jiang Ting had used his trust to hurt him deeply.
“Senior Sister, don’t blame Senior Brother…” Qin Fei interjected, pretending to mediate.
“Shut up!” Xiao Yang roared at Qin Fei.
“Why are you yelling at Junior Brother? I told him to come here to heal because you owe him,” Jiang Ting retorted angrily.
“What?” Xiao Yang almost laughed out of sheer disbelief. “I owe him? What exactly do I owe him?”
“You falsely accused Junior Brother before and even injured him. You never apologized. Don’t you think you owe him something?” Jiang Ting met Xiao Yang’s gaze without backing down.
“So, for the past month, he’s been sleeping on my bed, eating my spiritual medicine, drinking my spiritual wine, consuming my spiritual spring water, and even wearing my clothes?” Xiao Yang’s eyes narrowed as he noticed that Qin Fei was wearing one of his robes.
Did Qin Fei really think he owned this place?
Xiao Yang’s blood boiled with fury. And Jiang Ting had the audacity to call him excessive, unaware of how much worse Qin Fei had been behind her back.
“I’m sorry, Senior Brother. Senior Sister said I could use these things. I really didn’t mean to offend,” Qin Fei said humbly, feigning guilt and fear.
“Is that true?” Xiao Yang asked, glaring at Jiang Ting in disbelief.
“Well…” Jiang Ting hesitated, her face briefly showing embarrassment before she quickly hardened her expression. “So what? This is your way of making it up to Junior Brother. Don’t you think he deserves some compensation?”
“Haha…” Xiao Yang let out a bitter laugh. Jiang Ting was clearly taking advantage of his affection for her, using it to act however she pleased, with no regard for his feelings.
“I, Xiao Yang, owe no one in this life—especially not Qin Fei. I owe him nothing!” Xiao Yang declared, his voice trembling with fury.
“Senior Brother, you’re unreasonable!” Jiang Ting snapped angrily.
“Get out! Both of you, leave!” Xiao Yang shouted, his fists clenched tightly, his entire body radiating killing intent.
No wonder Qin Fei had been able to recover so quickly after Xiao Yang had beaten him in the past. Not only had Qin Fei healed, but his cultivation had advanced to the Heavenly Martial Realm, even triggering a celestial phenomenon. It was all because Qin Fei had been living off Xiao Yang’s resources, squandering everything he had painstakingly collected.
“…” Jiang Ting hesitated upon seeing Xiao Yang’s fury, a hint of fear flickering in her heart.
“Fine! If you want us gone, we’ll leave. Don’t come begging me later because I won’t return!” Jiang Ting retorted, storming out while supporting Qin Fei.
‘Go ahead and leave. Do you think I care? In this new life, I have no use for you.’
Watching Jiang Ting leave with Qin Fei, Xiao Yang felt no lingering attachment.
Jiang Ting still thought his anger was over Qin Fei and her. How laughable.
From the moment of his rebirth, Xiao Yang was no longer the naive boy who lived with his heart full of affection for Jiang Ting.
Qin Fei glanced back at Xiao Yang, a smirk of triumph tugging at his lips.
Xiao Yang stared coldly at him. In the past, such a provocation would have sent him into a rage. But now, Qin Fei’s tricks seemed childish and pathetic.
Xiao Yang began inspecting his residence. When he found the medicine cabinet empty, his anger surged. His carefully collected spiritual herbs and elixirs were gone—not a single one left. Even his spiritual stones had been taken.
“No… The spiritual spring…” Xiao Yang’s face darkened as he remembered what had happened in his past life. He rushed to the backyard, only to find the spiritual spring ruined.
“Qin Fei…” Xiao Yang clenched his fists tightly, his veins bulging as he stared at the dried-up spring.
The spiritual liquid had ceased to flow. The spring was now barren.
At that moment, Xiao Yang felt an overwhelming urge to kill.
