Chapter 1453: The Golds Have Finally Been Found?
The next day, Bleumrick had already put his daughter to the back of his mind. He was now heading back to Bleulle via the Teleportation array, along with various items they bought.
The City's teleportation array was quite large. It was around 10 meters in radius and could fit quite a lot of things and people at a time.
He procured a lot of things from the market here, including a small box of fertility pills resting snugly in his space. These were Evos' last batch, so he had to pay hundreds of gold in extra.
There were also two new women he took a liking to. They performed quite well and were good dancers. He hadn't had such exciting sex for a while.
Turning to the side, he looked at his newest wife, Margaery, and couldn't help but compare her with these new women. This one was as stiff as a board in bed, though she was quite beautiful so he didn't mind that much before.
Speaking of that, her eyes were red and puffy, and from here he could tell she had met with her mother and brother.
Bleumrick really didn't care what she did. She wouldn't be able to do much about her fate anyway. This was his confidence as a City Lord who trumps most people in terms of level.
The array soon charged up and lit up, and the blinding light enveloped everyone inside it.
A moment later, they found themselves in the familiar array just outside of the inner circle. After all, foreigners could be coming through here, so they didn't place it in the most sensitive area of the territory.
They all headed out and were greeted with servants pulling the wheeled carts to help with their luggage.
There was a wide covered walkway heading to the interior walls. There was a special gate there specifically for people who went through this array.
Before they reached the gates though, a group of people came out to greet them, with urgent expressions on their faces. "Milord!"
Bleumrick frowned. "Did you shout at me?" He asked, and the atmosphere around him immediately became heavier.
The men shook, losing strength in their legs. Fortunately, one was strong enough to speak in this situation; otherwise, they'd get very hurt if not dead.
"The Golds have been found!"
"What?"
His eyes sharpened, and his frown deepened when Margaery kneeled in front of them and grabbed their shoulder.
"Please repeat what you just said!!"
Bleumrick felt annoyed and looked at the guard. "Take her back to her house," he said. "And make sure she stays there."
"What—please don't!"
The guards arrived next to her a moment later and grabbed her arms, and she did her best to struggle. But what could a woman do against guards with higher levels than her?
"P-Please don't! Just one minute," she begged, before turning back to the servants who were still shivering from Bleumrick's aether attacks. "Please! Tell me more!!" she yelled as she was pulled away, but she was ultimately ignored by everyone.
Bleumrick watched her get dragged to the gates and he shifted his attention back to the men in front of him.
"Speak."
These men were servants from his palace. They likely got the information when someone or a representative from an organization—whether it was another territory or a mercenary team—got hold of the info and approached them for benefits.
The servants nodded and told him everything they got… which had some inconsistencies. However, it seemed that the Golds truly were alive.
It made him annoyed, but it would appear like he was still threatened by them if he mobilized his own forces. It would be below him to personally run after a fallen family, but he did want to know how they survived.
Fortunately, he also knew of a few people who had a heavy vested interest in this information.
"Call in the patriarchs of the Sephon and Visto family," he said. "They would want to hear this news.
…
The two elders and their heirs appeared in his house shortly after that.
The people from the Sephon family were the current patriarch, Epicos, who was a level 49 at age 60. He was also an elementalist with an affinity to fire. With him was his son, Ewan, who was the heir and an earth elementalist.
The current Patriarch of the Vesto family was here as well. He was an old man with the name of Vazar, who was level 47 at age 75. The gap between the two patriarchs was completely normal.
After all, the former was a high noble, while the Vesto family was somewhere mid-range, though they were hoping to raise their status with the marriage of their younger generation.
With Vazar was his grandson and heir, Rolian, who was not an Elementalist but was a swordsman by profession and had studied under one of the masters in the City.
"Welcome back, Milord," they said, doing a respectful salute. Bleumrick looked at them and nodded.
These were the families who had lost their Elders while confronting the Golds. More than him, they'd want to know how they escaped.
He didn't think he had underestimated the Golds and he had closely monitored the movements of the people who might want to help them out.
For one, it was why the Wisen family, Gaia's maternal family, fell so quickly. His people had been waiting for them to move, and they caught them in the act.
That said, he wasn't too concerned about them still being around. People of this continent were inherently selfish beings and he didn't have to worry about them getting revenge.
It was just that Bleumrick didn't like the feeling that he failed in what he had decided upon—as if his word had to be the law—especially when he had no idea how it even happened! How did the Golds survive?
Bleumrick looked at the four people with dull eyes, and he went straight to the point.
"We know where the Golds are," he said. "Do you wish to know as well?"
