All The Female Disciples Want To Kill Me

Chapter 158: Reluctantly glancing back through the flowers, half due to spiritual practice, half because of you!_1

Li Zijun gazed through the carriage window, her eyes calm as she observed the figure in the sky.

She seemed almost unmoved by the terrifying, tyrannical Spiritual Energy that could obliterate everything in an instant.

The figure was enshrouded in a black cloak and wore a pitch-black mask, upon which was a peculiar, ring-shaped emblem.

There wasn't just one such man; behind him loomed no fewer than eight different auras, all, without exception, tainted with Evil Qi.

Li Zijun was closely examining the emblem's design when Er You's voice suddenly reached her.

"Miss, please sit tight. Don't look."

With a grave expression, Er You watched the figures in the sky above, Spiritual Energy swirling around him, protecting the entire ox cart.

The brief collision moments ago had instantly obliterated everything visible within a half-mile radius. From that slight impact alone, Er You immediately gauged the strength of the attacker.

He was at least above Peak Refining Void, yet definitely not at the Dao Integration realm. Across all Twenty-One Provinces, the publicly known Dao Integration Cultivators could almost be counted on one hand. How could an Evil Cultivator of such power suddenly appear?

Even so, a full-force strike from someone Half-Step into Dao Integration was absolutely not something he, at Peak Refining Void, could withstand. Who in all the Twenty-One Provinces would make such a grand move, attempting to assassinate the Confucian Sage's daughter?

It was therefore obvious this person wasn't here for an assassination. His purpose was even clearer; very likely... it was to capture her alive!

Dust scattered in all directions.

"Mr. Er You, I would like to invite Miss Zijun as a guest," the masked man said.

"However, it seems you are not inclined to cooperate."

"Go!"

As the word fell, a menacing glint flashed in the masked figure's eyes.

The next moment, outside Jinling City, dense waves of Evil Qi surged skyward.

The masked man flicked his finger. A tiny speck of star-like black death Qi shot out from between his fingertips. Initially a mere mote in the vast sky, it rapidly expanded. By the time it reached several tens of yards before Er You's ox cart, it had grown as massive as a mountain.

Instantly, boundless great Dao maxims surged around Er You, like halos encircling him. He let out a deep shout:

"Square and round, yet I remain unmoved!"

Er You stood unyielding, countless rays of light arrayed before him.

These not only split the black death Qi in two, but the golden maxims themselves also emitted beams of light, instantly reflecting them back towards the black-clad man in the sky. Connecting heaven and earth, they created a vision of swirling winds and surging clouds upon the celestial canvas.

The cultivation methods of the Confucian School and Daoism are fundamentally similar, though with minor differences. One involves cultivating heaven and earth to forge the divine soul; the other involves cultivating Virtue to condense creation.

The more widely its enduring poems spread and the more people they enlighten, the greater the power of Virtue one accumulates, and consequently, the stronger one becomes.

The masked figure in the sky squinted, watching as golden light flashed everywhere between heaven and earth, and laughed heartily, "Interesting! That old fellow, the State Preceptor, certainly has a few tricks!"

"..."

With a long cry, he made a grand gesture. His wide sleeves billowed, and instantly, several figures materialized behind him, taking up positions that completely sealed off the ox cart's escape routes!

Black Evil Qi descended from the sky, endless and unceasing, as if weaving an inescapable net between heaven and earth, showing no sign of stopping.

Wherever patches of the black Qi drifted, all life was instantly extinguished, plants and trees withered. Nourished by this consumed vitality, the tendrils of black Qi varied in length and thickness, some even stretching for tens of yards!

It descended with a desolate rustle.

Er You took a deep breath. Trapped within the Dark Qi Formation woven by these assailants, he stomped his foot fiercely. A wave of majestic, ocean-like righteous golden Qi instantly erupted from under his feet, spreading rapidly outwards in a vast ripple.

Devastatingly powerful!

The black death Qi still stretched between heaven and earth. Demonic clouds roiled across the sky, obscuring it like thick ink, while faint thunder rumbled!

Witnessing this, Er You's heart turned cold. He now understood their intention.

These Evil Cultivators wanted to drain his Spiritual Energy!

But even knowing the masked man's plan, Er You had no solution. If he were alone, he could have escaped these eight assailants, no matter their efforts. However, the Confucian Sage's daughter was with him. He could only fight back. The Confucian School disciples beside him had already been eroded by this black death Qi, their lives extinguished!

Inside the ox cart, Li Zijun kept her hands resting on her knees. Feeling the tyrannical Spiritual Energy raging around her, she silently circulated the Three Confucian Auras within her body.

Her mind raced, meticulously recalling everything.

BOOM!

A terrifying blast of Spiritual Energy erupted less than a hundred feet from Li Zijun, the deafening sound nearly causing her to faint.

Dense black Qi permeated an area several miles wide, centered on Er You and the masked man.

The solitary golden light was like a lone boat in a vast ocean, steadfastly adrift, yet in constant danger of capsizing.

After an unknown period, the ox cart was suddenly overturned. Er You violently spat out a large mouthful of blood, his golden aura dimming. He raised a hand, sending a stream of Spiritual Energy to shield Li Zijun.

A scene of utter desolation met the eye. For miles in every direction, everything had been reduced to nothingness by the terrifying Evil Qi!

The masked man clenched his fist, his nails like pitch-black swords, and strode towards the ruins of churned earth.

Then, a hand suddenly shot out from beneath the rubble. With a RUSTLE, Er You slowly rose, his complexion ashen. The golden Spiritual Energy around him was visibly dissipating; he was clearly severely injured.
