Chapter 271: Poker_2
The person leading the group of wealthy individuals from Central Africa nodded with a slight smile: "Anyhow, we came today to enjoy ourselves to the fullest, it's all good as long as we casually pull out ten or twenty million. Mr. Jin, what do you think?"
"I'm not well-versed in these matters, but if you have an interest in this field, I'm also willing to join you for a few rounds." Allen Zhang smiled and turned his head upon seeing Colson signaling to him, excusing himself and stood up to walk over.
Once outside in the hallway, Colson mysteriously produced a pair of bone conduction headphones and handed them to Allen Zhang, saying: "This is connected to the casino's back-end monitoring earpiece. Later on, you can listen to the instructions from the control room staff on how to place your bets, guaranteed to make you win money. We plan to let them win a few million at first, then on the big bets, we'll drive them straight into losing heavily. Such tactics and routines are common in the gaming industry; nobody can control their own emotions."
Allen Zhang nodded, put on the bone conduction headphones - just the size of a fingernail cap electronic component, with synthetic skin, completely inconspicuous behind the ear.
"Mr. Jin, how much do you plan to exchange for chips? I can front you some money," Colson eagerly said: "After all, it was me who invited you here, it wouldn't be nice to actually have you spend your own money."
You're quite the character, aren't you.
Allen Zhang was also surprised, but since someone was willing to provide him with capital, he naturally agreed without any hesitation, instantly nodding, "Then just exchange casually for five million US dollars' worth of chips. Otherwise, with such big play, the capital might not even cover the losses."
Colson hesitated for a moment, then gritted his teeth: "Five million US dollars, right? Alright, I'll go all out! To secure this big deal, I've mortgaged my villa in Clark County and other shop properties, liquidating forty million US dollars, ready to acquire and assimilate the assets of the other party."
"You're gambling that big?"
Allen Zhang was somewhat astonished, not expecting this baldie to go all in. Are you going to acquire someone else's assets or is the casino going to acquire yours? Are you preparing to be harvested like a leek?
"This is a rare opportunity, and with the principal included, I expect to earn even more, at least one hundred million US dollars!" Colson chuckled.
"Good luck to you!" Allen Zhang could only wish luck to this old gambler, who had made so much money from other gambling addicts and now couldn't hold back himself either.
However, considering that the other party was willing to cover five million dollars of funds for him, if he really made money here, the General Sect Leader was not against sharing some with him, at least not allowing the man to end up broke and destitute.
Colson went to exchange the chips, while Allen Zhang returned to the VIP room of the entertainment hall. The gaming floor manager also brought over the chips, placing them on a tray where the lowest denomination was ten thousand US dollars each.
Soon Colson also arrived with five million in chips, placing them on the table to the right of Allen Zhang.
Eight people sat at the gambling table, with the croupier in charge of dealing cards, playing the classic Texas Hold'em poker.
Texas Hold'em consists of 52 cards, without jokers. Each player is dealt two private cards as their hole cards, and five public cards are dealt face-up by the croupier in stages.
In the beginning, each player has two face-down hole cards. After all the betting rounds, if a winner cannot be determined, the game goes to a showdown stage where the remaining players reveal their hole cards to decide who has the higher hand. The ranking of hands from highest to lowest is: Royal Flush, Straight Flush, Four of a kind, Full House (Three of a kind with a pair), Flush, Straight, Three of a kind, Two pair, One pair.
The VIP room poker table naturally follows the no-limit betting rules, meaning if the previous person bet one hundred, you must bet two hundred, the following person bets four hundred, and the next doubles again, and so forth, or choose to fold. This continues until the round is unresolved, going straight into a showdown.
Allen Zhang is all too familiar with the rules, nonchalantly placing a ten-thousand-dollar blind bet.
The Central African tycoon next to him chuckled, slapping down a thirty-thousand-dollar blind bet, making the other guests twitch.
Damn, aren't you playing spicy?
The croupier immediately dealt two hole cards to everyone, looking clockwise from the Central African tycoon for the next VIP. That guest glanced at his hole cards and calmly chose to follow with sixty thousand US dollars. The next looked at his cards and followed with one hundred and twenty thousand US dollars. The person after that chose to fold.
When it was the General Sect Leader's turn, the betting had already risen to nine hundred and sixty thousand.
To follow meant placing a bet of one million nine hundred and twenty thousand US dollars.
Damn, betting this big?
Allen Zhang looked at his hole cards - a two and a nine.
Without hearing any sound or instruction from the earpiece, he immediately chose to fold. The Central African tycoon next to him chuckled, "You're folding already? The public cards haven't even been dealt."
As the big blind, he directly followed with one million nine hundred and twenty thousand US dollars.
The croupier was responsible for dealing three public cards, which were a five, a two, and a King.
This round started with the small blind speaking. One of the Central African tycoons looked at his hand and the community cards, chose to fold right away.
Seeing this, the others also expressed their folds.
The Central African tycoon laughed heartily, straightaway showing his hole cards - a four and a King, "Guys, I only have a pair right now, your cards can't be worse than mine, right? Hahaha."
He immediately began collecting money.
Allen Zhang chuckled, not caring about winning or losing, and when the croupier announced the next betting round, he nonchalantly threw in a ten-thousand-dollar blind bet.
