American Tax Officer

Chapter 359: Encounter With Bieber, Whereabouts Revealed_2

Even without seeking revenge, isn't your previous tax audit operation on Wall Street still unresolved, and aren't you scheduled to pay a visit there next?

But you, you've neither announced your intention to retaliate against the assassins nor shown any indication of going to Wall Street for a tax inspection. So what exactly are you up to?

Aside from the public, Freemasonry, Ansa Group, and the Illuminati were all confounded by David's low-profile behavior.

They knew all too well that David was a man who would take his revenge, so they had been preparing to face him ever since he announced he had survived and was coming back.

But even though they were all set, David's move was nowhere to be seen, which naturally left them baffled.

In an effort to understand what David had been up to these days, the media and the Freemasonry's Big Three Groups alike began using various channels to investigate David's whereabouts.

Alabama State, Yasen Airport.

"I'm about to see my big brother soon, I'm so excited!"

"It's been three years since my Bieber last came to Alabama State, and today he's finally arriving!"

"Fake Yau, stop pushing me!"

"..."

Today is the day the superstar Justin Bieber is coming to Alabama State for a commercial performance, so a massive crowd of fans had already arrived early to stake out the venue.

Naturally, the arrival of such a megastar also attracted plenty of local media to cover the event.

"He's coming, he's coming, wuuu!"

"Oh my god, oh my god, my brother is so handsome!"

"..."

About twenty minutes later, Bieber, dressed in a baseball outfit and wearing sunglasses, made a full fashion statement as he walked out escorted by bodyguards, instantly triggering screaming from the fans on site.

Many people even lunged forward in a frenzy, and in an effort to project his down-to-earth image, Bieber smiled and patiently started signing autographs for the fans.

"Hey... that's... that's Chief Inspector David, what's he doing here, oh my god, I can't believe my eyes!"

While the media were busy capturing shots of Bieber, an eagle-eyed reporter suddenly spotted a familiar face appearing in the next passage. Upon closer inspection, it indeed was David, who had been the subject of much media speculation lately!

"What, Chief Inspector David? For real, where?"

"That's impossible, why would such a big shot suddenly come to our little Alabama State?"

"My god, it actually is him!"

Upon hearing the tip-off, some colleagues were initially skeptical, but when they turned their heads to look, they indeed recognized the familiar face.

In no time, the media forgot all about Bieber as David's current popularity was even eclipsing that of the President of the United States.

Hence, they all rushed towards David in the second passage as quickly as possible, eager to get the scoop.

"Hmm?"

Meanwhile, Bieber was still trying his best to show his charm, aiming to leave a good impression on the fans in Alabama State.

But turning his head, he suddenly noticed a large group of media rushing to another passage, apparently interviewing someone, which left him confused and also starting to get annoyed.

He immediately turned to his assistant and asked, "What's going on, has Madonna arrived?"

"Madonna? No way, she doesn't have the schedule to come here right now."

"Is it Taylor Swift?"

"Definitely not, if she were coming, we would've heard about it long ago!"

"Then who the hell has arrived?"

Bieber was even more annoyed now. Apart from the two mentioned above, he couldn't think of anyone else capable of making the media abandon him and choose to interview someone else.

"I'll go check."

A few minutes later, the assistant returned from the crowd, her face somewhat shocked as she said, "It's Inspector David from the Internal Revenue Service. No one knows why he's come here."

"What!"

Although Bieber was a showbiz figure, he had heard of David since he was recently the most talked-about person in America, so he was naturally taken aback to hear that it was David who had arrived.

But now he finally understood why the world-class superstar he was—always the focal point for media wherever he went—was not getting the spotlight today.

It turned out to be David who had come!

Meanwhile, seeing so many media suddenly appearing, David also paused for a second, then turned to Manson and asked, "What's going on, has our whereabouts been leaked?"

"That shouldn't be right, we didn't even notify the local Tax Bureau, so the media definitively shouldn't know, why would they be waiting here in advance?"

Manson scratched his head, also a picture of confusion.

"Chief Inspector, it doesn't seem like these people are here for us, it looks like Justin Bieber has arrived!"

Jerry, having seen some welcome signs being held up by fans in the distance, observed a bit and came to this conclusion.

"Justin Bieber is here?"

David also looked up, and it really seemed to be the case. This was quite the stroke of bad luck, to bump into this pop superstar and get caught by the media.

"Inspector David, have you come to Alabama State to conduct a tax inspection?"

"Inspector David, there hasn't been any news about you recently. Your sudden appearance in Alabama State, is there a specific purpose?"

"Inspector David, please, say a few words!"

The media, having already asked their questions, grew impatient after a long silence from David and began to press for answers again.

"Ladies and gentlemen, I indeed have some official business in Alabama State, but it is not an inspection of state taxes, and I can't disclose any specifics at this time, please understand..."

After saying this, David immediately gave a look to Manson and Jerry, who promptly got the message and moved forward to help him carve out a path.

After escaping the encirclement of media and fans, David instinctively turned to look, and sure enough, he spotted Justin Bieber's figure.

Justin Bieber also saw him, but showed no intention of coming over to greet him; he merely nodded slightly.

David nodded back in acknowledgment, then walked out of the airport.

Just now, Larin had taken the Cadillac Beast to the airport's gas station to fuel up, and was now at the airport entrance.

The trio immediately got into the car, but no sooner had David gotten in than his phone rang. He picked it up and saw it was Donald's, and immediately answered.

"How's it going, Deputy Director Donald?"

"I saw the news, your whereabouts in Alabama State have been exposed, everything alright?"

"There was a bit of a surprise, but no major problems."

"That state falls within the Illuminati's sphere of influence; be careful, don't let the details of the legislation get leaked."

Upon hearing this, David was silent for a moment before replying, "Deputy Director Donald, I'm afraid it won't be long before we can't keep the details of the legislation secret."

"What do you mean?"

Donald's tone grew tense. This was a bill whose impact would be many times greater than the Black Tax Bill, and if the news broke now, who knew what uproar it would cause. One could only imagine the pressure the Internal Revenue Service would face.

"During this time, although I have reached agreements with many congressmen, the fact is it involves negotiating with over two hundred people, and it's unrealistic to expect them all to keep tight-lipped."

David, of course, wanted to wait until he had officially secured the agreement of 218 congressmen and 51 senators before announcing the bill.

But as he said, there were too many people involved, and these congressmen weren't robots; each had their own minds and machinations.

He couldn't be sure whether, among these people, some who had verbally agreed with him might betray him to The Big Three Groups for other reasons.
