Chapter 164: Quarrel [2]
Instead of admitting he was in the wrong, Albert did what all overcompensating meatheads do—
He grinned stupidly and doubled down on his barking.
"Yeah, I do! What the fuck are you gonna do about it? Cry to your mama, you little baby?!"
Alan's face twisted in disbelief.
"Was that supposed to be a comeback?"
He mockingly tilted his head, his tone dripping with disgust.
"God, I pity you. To be both stupid and ugly… Life must be hard for you."
OHHHHHH!
That?
That was a burn.
An incineration.
I could practically see the smoke rising off Albert's ego.
And sure enough—
His veins bulged, his expression darkening as he snapped his right hand up.
Mana flared around his wrist, activating his dimensional bracelet.
Fwoosh!
A greatsword materialized in his grip.
But Alan?
Didn't even flinch.
Instead—
He smoothly shifted into a low fighting stance, summoning a sleek rapier into his hand.
Oh.
Oh, shit.
This was actually happening.
I casually tossed another handful of popcorn into my mouth.
Crunch— Crunch—
I leaned forward, anticipation buzzing in my chest.
"Alright, let's see some BLOOD—"
Fwoosh—!
A black-haired blur appeared between them.
Tsk.
Who else but our oh-so-righteous Hero, Alex, could be counted on to ruin a perfectly good fight before it even started?
"STOP IT, YOU TWO!"
Alex shoved them apart, his arms outstretched like some self-righteous referee.
I rolled my eyes.
Here we go.
"Albert!" Alex's voice was firm, like a disappointed dad.
"Raising a weapon against a fellow student is a direct violation of academy rules!"
His gaze hardened.
"If I ever see this behavior again, I'll report you to the student council.
Albert's brows furrowed.
Then, his temper flared.
"WHAT?!"
He jerked Alex's hand off his chest, scowling.
"He pulled out his weapon on me too! Why the hell am I the only one getting called out?!"
Alex exhaled sharply.
"You pulled yours out first. You don't seriously expect Alan to just let you hit him without fighting back, do you?"
Albert's mouth opened and closed, struggling to come up with an argument—
But before he could start barking again—
Another guy from his class stepped in.
"And you surely don't expect Albert to just let Alan keep insulting him, right?"
His voice carried righteous indignation.
"If we're really going to the student council, then let's also report how rudely Alan talked to him."
OHHH SHIT.
COUNTERARGUMENT FILED.
The crowd leaned in—this was getting good.
I casually reached into my popcorn bucket, munching away.
"Peak drama. Keep it going, people."
But before Alex or Alan could even respond—
A new challenger appeared.
A girl stepped forward.
Selene.
Just some random bystander with zero stakes in this fight.
But hey—when has that ever stopped anyone from jumping into drama?
"To be fair—"
She pointed at Albert.
"He is a big guy."
Her words hung in the air.
Albert's face twitched.
"Not to mention," she continued, "he's using a greatsword. There's plenty of space on the field. He really shouldn't be swinging that thing so close to people."
She shrugged.
"If Alan asked for some space, that's not unreasonable."
GASPS FROM THE CROWD.
The argument was turning.
Some students nodded, murmuring in agreement.
But just when it looked like Alan's side was winning—
Another girl stepped forward.
She was from Albert's class.
And she was not having it.
"Is that a reason to start insulting someone's physique?"
Her arms crossed as she stared down Selene.
"Your classmate literally called Albert 'uselessly big' in front of everyone."
A ripple went through the crowd.
She continued—
"And if Alan didn't like it, he could've also just… I don't know, gone somewhere else to practice?"
The girl from Albert's class crossed her arms, standing firm.
By now, it was pretty clear—
Both she and the other guy arguing on Albert's behalf were probably part of his unit.
"Lackeys defending their boss. Classic."
But Alex?
Oh, Alex wasn't backing down.
"And is that a reason to PULL A WEAPON ON SOMEONE?!"
His voice rose, eyes flashing with righteous fury.
"Mind you, he pulled out a real greatsword! That weapon is meant to kill! And if that wasn't enough—"
"QUIET!"
A thunderous roar shook the training field.
The entire crowd froze.
Oh.
Oh, look.
It seems the instructor has finally remembered that it's his job to supervise the students.
About damn time.
I popped another piece of popcorn into my mouth, watching with amusement as Instructor Luke finally decided to step in.
The man stormed over, his expression a mix of annoyance and exhaustion.
"ENOUGH!"
His sharp gaze swept over the students involved, his voice booming.
"CEASE THIS CHILDISH QUARREL—NOW!"
The bickering immediately stopped.
Albert's lackeys shut up.
Alan's smug face disappeared.
Even Alex, the golden boy himself, took a half-step back.
Luke's cold eyes lingered on each of them before he exhaled sharply.
"Get back to your training and remember why you are here!"
His tone left no room for argument.
"You are the future of this world, so start ACTING like it!"
A heavy silence fell over the field.
Then—
Slowly, students began dispersing, returning to their own training.
Even Albert, grumbling under his breath, stomped off with his lackeys.
Alan rolled his eyes but didn't push his luck.
And Alex?
Still standing there, arms crossed, looking like he really wanted to give a lecture.
But wisely—
He didn't.
I simply leaned back, tossing another piece of popcorn into my mouth.
"Took you long enough, Instructor."
"But Instructor, he pulled a weapon on me!"
Alan's voice rose in frustration, clearly pissed that Albert was getting off scot-free.
"He was the one who picked a fight with me!"
Instructor Luke's sharp gaze snapped toward Alan.
"I said enough!"
The stern authority in his voice cut through the field like a blade.
"If you take this matter to the council, BOTH of you will be punished. Now go back and resume your practice!"
Boom. Case closed.
Alan gritted his teeth, but after a moment, he exhaled sharply and backed down.
Albert, smug as hell, rolled his shoulders before walking off with his lackeys.
With the fight officially shut down, the entire training field fell into an awkward silence.
Crunch— Crunch—
…
Wait.
Why was it so quiet?
And why did I feel… stared at?
I blinked.
Turning my head slightly, I noticed—
Several students were glaring at me.
Their expressions ranged from disbelief to sheer exasperation.
Like they were silently screaming,
"ARE YOU SERIOUS?!"
I furrowed my brows.
"Huh? Why's everyone looking at me—"
Then it hit me.
The field was dead silent.
The tension? Palpable.
The argument? Still fresh.
And yet—
The only sound echoing through the entire training ground?
CRUNCH— CRUNCH—
Me.
Munching.
On popcorn.
Out loud.
Right after a heated battle of egos.
…
Oh.
A beat of silence passed.
Then, without a shred of shame, I casually tucked the popcorn packet into my dimensional ring.
With zero acknowledgment of the stares, I equipped my martial manual and resumed training.
Nothing to see here.
Back to work.
*****
The evening sky painted the campus in warm hues of orange and purple as I made my way back to the dorm.
The day had been eventful enough already.
But fate?
Apparently, it wasn't done with me yet.
[Ding! New Mission]
[Tame the Villainess]
Huh?
Before I could process the notification, a calm yet authoritative voice called out—
"Arthur Ludwig."
I stopped mid-step, looking ahead.
Standing before me was a woman whose presence demanded attention.
Amara Harper.
Vice President of the Student Council.
Luna's elder sister.
Future Villainess.
And, most importantly—
Ridiculously attractive.
A stunningly beautiful face, icy blue eyes sharp with authority, and a figure so curvaceous it could make saints sin.
Her waterfall-like blue hair flowed down her back, adding to her regal presence.
"Damn."
The exclamation escaped before I could stop it.
Amara's brows furrowed.
"What?!"
Shit.
"Nothing~ Nothing," I said hastily, plastering on my best innocent smile.
She didn't look convinced.
But she let it go.
Instead, her arms crossed, her cold gaze locking onto me.
"We need to talk."
I tilted my head, intrigued.
"Oh? About what, senior?"
"Not here."
Her tone left no room for argument.
"Let's go somewhere else."
Now, I could have acted clueless—asked her why she was suddenly looking for me after months of no interaction.
But honestly?
I was hungry.
"There's a café nearby. I just got out of class, and I could use a meal."
A flicker of hesitation crossed her eyes, but she nodded.
"Fine. Let's go."
*****
We settled into an empty table by the window.
The café's warm lighting contrasted sharply with the icy aura Amara was exuding.
I casually placed an order—
A sandwich and coffee for myself, and since I was feeling generous, a coffee for Amara as well.

She didn't object.
Her eyes, however, never left me.
I took a bite of my sandwich.
Silence.
Then—
"What is your relationship with my sister?"
Her voice was cold, direct.
My chewing paused.
