Apocalyptic Disasters: Carrying a bun and hoarding supplies

Mother Bai kept staring at Bai Feng. Upon noticing this, Bai Qingshi was so scared that he nearly toppled to the floor. He turned to look at Bai Feng, and even though the man didn't resemble the two Bai brothers to the point it would be too obvious, Yan Wanning was different. She was the mother of these men.

Certainly, she could see the similarities between Bai Feng and Bai Zhan. If this woman found out that he had stolen Bai Zhan's twin and exchanged it for a dead baby, Bai Qingshi wondered what Yan Wanning would do.

Worse, what would Bai Feng do when he found out that he was Yan Wanning's son, and he had lied to him since the beginning? Bai Qingshi shuddered and said to Chu Xia, "What are you doing? Stop wasting time and go home."

They couldn't let Yan Wanning recognise Bai Feng, or it would be their funeral!

When Chu Xia heard his remark, she was quite heartbroken. His daughter was lying on the floor as if dead, and yet he didn't even care about her or Bai Xue's injuries. She raised her head and looked at Yan Wanning, who was looking at Bai Feng, and a surge of hatred rose in her heart.

She would never! Never let Yan Wanning know that Bai Feng was her son. Not until he died. And Yan Wanning better hope that Bai Feng lived a long life because if he died, then she would waste no time in telling her that Bai Feng was her son.

Somewhere, Chu Xia was looking forward to Bai Feng's death. As long as this man died, she would be able to drive Yan Wanning crazy to death. She held Bai Xue, who was bleeding, in her arms and turned to look at Bai Feng. Sneering, she scolded him, "Why are you standing there like a fool? Pick your sister up and take her to the penthouse. And look for someone who could deal with her injuries."

She couldn't tell Yan Wanning the truth, but what she could do was to treat Bai Feng as her servant. She would let Yan Wanning watch Bai Feng treat her like his saviour and mother, and in case he died, she would use it to piss Yan Wanning off to death.

Yan Wanning frowned when she heard Chu Xia scold Bai Feng. For some reason, she didn't like the sight of Chu Xia scolding the poor man, but why? Yan Wanning had no idea.

Bai Qingshi rushed Bai Feng as well, and at the same time, he enclasped the document that Bai Meiyue had thrown to one side. The very same one that consisted of all the benefits that would be given to the ability users. He knew that there was something fishy about this entire thing, but desperate times call for desperate measures.

They could no longer stay here anymore, which meant that they needed to move as soon as possible, for he couldn't risk facing Bai Meiyue and Bai Feng's wrath along with the other two Bai brothers.

As for Bai Feng's life? As long as the man helped them meet with Mister Huang, he didn't care if he died! Anyway, he had no feelings when it came to the children born to him by Yan Wanning. In fact, it would be better if they all died!

That way, his life would be even more comfortable.

Yan Wanning watched them go with a frown before taking her leave.

The survivors causing the trouble had long disappeared. Doctor Chu, who was researching the doomsday virus, asked the nurses to bring the crushed body of the man who was killed in the stampede earlier. Thus, the nurses tied the legs of the man and dragged him to the cold storage, where he was kept for further research.

The hustle and bustle was enough to make anyone tired. When Bai Meiyue arrived at her home, all she wanted was to lie down and sleep. She didn't want to even move, but somehow managed to drag her feet to the stairs. She waved her brothers goodnight and didn't say a word, as she didn't want to discuss anything about tonight.

However, just as she returned to her room and fell on the bed, Bai Meiyue couldn't close her eyes. The instances of the fight that happened kept flashing in front of her eyes, and she felt really frustrated. What happened tonight told her that she could no longer stay here. Yu Miaomiao had set her eyes on Lei Qian and her already. She would not stop pestering them.

More importantly, Dacheng, who failed to get any kind of benefit, would definitely tell her that she was pregnant with Lei Qian's child so as to get some benefit. That man had no bottom limit for the sake of getting what he wanted.

The more Bai Meiyue thought about it, the more she became anxious.

And at the same time, she wondered whether she was getting anxious due to her pregnancy symptoms heightening. Bai Meiyue thought that she would go and talk with Shen Zhen first thing in the morning. With so many thoughts swirling in her head, she finally fell asleep.

"What did you say?" Mother Lei gasped. She was sure that she had misheard her son, but when she saw how serious he looked, she nearly fainted then and there. She wondered how such a thing could happen.

Mother Lei felt like her head couldn't keep up with the sudden change of situation and needed to sit down. However, at the same time, she was really glad that Lei Qian had finally tasted spring! She was worried that her son would die alone one day, given how picky and cold he was when it came to other women.

But another thought came to her head, and she turned to look at Lei Qian. "The child? Is he growing safely?" She knew Bai Meiyue, and she also knew that the woman was really careless. She didn't look like a woman who was pregnant, given how much she ran around; what was more, she was going on hunts up until now!

With how things were at the moment, how could they know if the child was growing safely in her womb? Mother Lei was worried. This was the first child of her son and her first grandson.

She couldn't allow anything to happen to him!

Mother Lei was worried, and so was Father Lei. However, his worries were completely different from his wife's. He raised his head and looked at Lei Qian before saying to him, "You need to protect Bai Meiyue really well. It wouldn't take long for Lei Wu to find out that she is pregnant with your child."

Given how Lei Wu had always tried to ruin Lei Qian, Father Lei knew that the man would stop at nothing. He would definitely try to harm Bai Meiyue, as he was cruel like that.

Lei Wu was his nephew, but Father Lei knew that he was just like his cowardly brother. His second brother didn't have many skills, but he still liked to show off in front of him when they were young. It was not until Father Lei separated from the family and opened his own business that his second brother realised that the difference between the two of them was too big.

He then pestered their mother into getting a bite of the pie, and when he failed, his second brother started scheming behind his back. Lei Wu was the same.

All these years, Father Lei knew how many attempts had been made to take Lei Qian's life. So how could he not know that Lei Wu would try something to disrupt Bai Meiyue's life? The second branch wanted to kill Lei Qian because they knew that as long as he died, they could push Lei Wu to take the heritage of the Lei family.

And even if the world had ended, Father Lei knew that with how much his brother and nephew hated them, they would never stop, even if they didn't get anything at last. Just seeing them dead would be enough to make them happy.

So, how could they allow Lei Qian's child to be born safely when they wanted their first branch to be gone?

"I know, Dad," Lei Qian replied. "I will make sure that Yueyue remains safe till the end." Without her, there would be no him. So how could he not be careful? He thought in his mind.

Lei Yan, on the other hand, grinned and said, "I always knew that Sister Yueyue and I had some kind of relationship. You see? She is going to become my sister-in-law!"

The three members of the Lei family turned to look at the silly child and shook their heads. However, they didn't say anything. Let the fool be happy for a bit longer.
