Chapter 310: Trying To Steal A Carriage
"As usual, I'm pretty enough. I wonder how many people will fall in love with me this time?" Inside a luxurious carriage flying among the clouds, a beautiful young lady was looking at herself in a mirror.
The inside of the carriage looked so lavish and extravagant that it almost felt unreal. It seemed like every detail was crafted from gold and diamonds.
Everything sparkled so brightly it could practically blind someone — though that was probably the whole point.
What was even more strange was that this beautiful young lady looked exactly like the face Serys had transformed into.
'Lady Celentia, we'll arrive in Crystalgard in about ten minutes.' An elderly voice suddenly echoed in her ears.
Celentia smiled gracefully, put down the mirror, and looked out the window. The soft breeze brushed against her face, and then she gently closed the window again.
"Even though the main reason I'm here is the Ten Thousand Treasures House auction, I hope there's something useful in this thief auction too," she muttered.
In truth, she had no interest in attending an auction hosted by a bunch of bandits. If it were up to her, she'd only go to the Ten Thousand Treasures House auction.
After all, she could definitely find a rich and handsome husband there. At a bandit-run auction? At best, maybe just a bunch of old men would show up.
"Pfft~ So boring." She wanted to cry, but she had no tears.
Why did she have to go to such ridiculous places? Couldn't her father just send her brother instead? Wasn't it supposed to be his job to deal with nonsense like this?
"I should stop thinking negatively. According to Valerina, negative thoughts cause wrinkles." She adjusted her expression carefully.
"That's right! I just need to focus on good news. I heard Sir Ulrich will be at the Ten Thousand Treasures House auction! Maybe I can impress him?" she thought while playing with her hair.
However, she didn't expect the carriage to suddenly start shaking and descending rapidly.
"What? What's happening?" She panicked as she felt the carriage falling.
"My lady, it appears we're under attack! Please stay inside!" the same elderly voice shouted, now sounding serious and concerned.
The carriage was dropping fast, and the guards were doing everything they could to stabilize it, but it wasn't working.
An old man who seemed to be her protector flew into the air, using all his strength to bring the carriage down safely.
"Damn it, what the hell is going on? What bastard dares to attack the Valenberg family's carriage?!" the old man growled, successfully landing the carriage without a scratch.
Even so, he didn't lower his guard. He expanded his spiritual awareness, scanning the surroundings carefully.
"Dogo, what's happening?" Celentia asked nervously as she stepped out of the carriage.
"My lady, I told you to stay inside!" the old man, Dogo, rushed toward her.
"How do you expect me to stay in there at a time like this?!" Celentia complained.
"I understand. I'm still not sure what happened exactly. But it looks like we've been attacked."
"Attacked? But who would dare attack a member of the Valenberg family here?"
Dogo stayed silent. He didn't know either. This area was within Valenberg territory, and yet someone had dared to attack them.
"That old man really managed to counter gravitational force. I'm impressed." A charming male voice suddenly echoed from above.
"I told you, that old man's name is Dogo. He's relatively well-known for his power," a beautiful female voice followed right after.
However, this second voice was oddly familiar — incredibly familiar to Dogo, the three guards, and even Celentia herself. Because it sounded exactly like… Celentia's own voice.
Two figures appeared in the sky. One was a man in a black cloak with a black mask that seemed to be made of energy.
And the other… was a young woman who looked exactly like Celentia. Not just similar — identical.
"That's me? But why am I up there?" Celentia mumbled in confusion.
"Who are you two?" Dogo frowned and motioned for the three guards to protect the young lady.
"Us? We're just some passersby who, by chance, need your carriage," Daniel said, smiling behind his mask.
"You need the carriage?" Dogo repeated, suspiciously, trying to sense their true strength.
The girl who looked just like Celentia appeared to have the exact same aura as the real one — which meant she was just as powerful.
But the young man? His aura was like a bottomless ocean, seemingly infinite. When Dogo tried to sense deeper, his skin began to tingle, and his very cells screamed in fear.
This man was definitely a terrifying existence.
"If it's just a carriage, then it's fine. You can take it," Dogo said, deciding it was better to hand it over than to start a fight.
"But Dogo! That's our family's carriage! We can't just give it away! And that girl — she looks exactly like me! We have to find out who she is! What if my father has another hidden child somewhere?!" Celentia shouted.
Dogo frowned at her words. It wasn't really about the carriage — it didn't matter.
But the girl who looked exactly like his lady — that was different. It wasn't just the face.
Even her aura and temperament were a perfect match, like two halves of the same apple.
If they didn't figure out who this girl was and stop her now, what would stop her from impersonating Lady Celentia in the future and doing whatever she wanted? That would be a disaster.
Whether it was a skill or an item, it didn't matter. He had to detain her now.
Not only should they capture her, but they had to interrogate her properly to find out how she could look so much like Celestina.
Dogoh clenched his fists, and a faint purple spark seemed to ripple through his body.
From his perspective, the only person who could pose a threat to him was that man.
Still, he wasn't worried—once he entered his rage state, no one could stop him.
"Looks like they're not planning to surrender peacefully," Daniel sighed when he saw the shift in the old man's expression.
"Told you. A fight was inevitable," Serys replied.
