Awakening The Only SSS-Rank Class! Now Even Dragons Obey Me

Chapter 358: The City Of Ruins

The smell of blood filled the air. All those beautiful houses and magnificent buildings had been reduced to piles of ash.

The beautiful water channels that ran through the city had turned the color of blood, and smoke covered everything. The sounds of screams and terror echoed everywhere.

More than an hour had passed since the Heavenly Kings began fighting, and in just that hour, the city had turned completely into ruins.

The sky was torn apart, dyed in a bloody hue. Even so, the destructive battle hadn't ended yet, and there was still no clear winner.

However, the Azure Phoenix City, once one of the most beautiful cities on the continent, had been completely destroyed, leaving nothing but rubble.

Except for the Hero's Palace — with every attack they made, the Heavenly Kings were careful not to cause the slightest damage to it.

After all, the dragon egg was kept there, and none of them wanted anything to happen to it.

As for someone daring to steal the egg right in front of their eyes? In their view, it was absolutely impossible. Nearly everyone had left the palace already, but even if they hadn't, would anyone dare to do such a thing?

Their divine senses could cover an entire continent. For them, finding a small thief anywhere he went wouldn't be difficult. More importantly, stealing the dragon egg while they were here was simply impossible.

"With things like this, there won't be any victory. Wouldn't it be better to just give up?" an ancient existence from the Celestial Phoenix Tribe said with a frown.

"Give up? For what? We've been stuck at this stage for centuries. That egg might be the chance we need to escape this situation, and you want us to let it go?" an ancient existence from the Valenberg family said sarcastically.

The others nodded in agreement. For centuries, their rank hadn't changed in the slightest. It was clear they didn't have the talent or fate needed to step into the Demigod rank.

But how could they give up? Each of them had been the greatest genius of their generation. They couldn't accept being inferior to others, and they would do whatever it took to become a Demigod.

And now, the opportunity they had been seeking for centuries had finally appeared before them — that dragon egg.

The ancient existence from the Celestial Phoenix Tribe sighed. He wanted to contact the other existences of the same rank in his tribe to ask for help.

However, that would practically be declaring war and breaking the ancient treaty, and none of those present dared to do such a thing.

Even now, they were doing everything they could to prevent the destruction from spreading. If they attacked with full power, at least half the continent would surely be destroyed.

Once again, they clashed.

Meanwhile, inside the palace where the auction had been held, a handsome young man was lazily sitting in his chair.

However, all the seats around him were completely empty — in that large hall, he was the only one sitting there.

"This isn't even the peak of the world's power, and it's still this terrifying," Daniel sighed, finally realizing just how small and insignificant he was in this world.

For the past hour that these ancient existences had been fighting, he had been sitting there, watching them.

As for the others, well, most of them had left within the first few minutes. Even Kyros had stayed only twenty minutes before leaving without hesitation.

Andreas and Ilaris had wanted to stay with him, but he had practically forced them to leave. He didn't have the time to protect them, and fortunately, the representative from the Lionheart family had taken them away from here.

Now, he was the only one left. He wasn't too worried, since if something happened, he could easily escape. When the Heavenly Kings first started fighting, he had already ordered Rynor to leave the city immediately.

Rynor was an Elf at the peak of Rank A, so escaping the city was incredibly easy for him. By now, he should be far away from here.

If necessary, Daniel could simply use Fallen Step to teleport to wherever Rynor was.

"They say when the powerful fight, the weak suffer," Daniel muttered to himself with another sigh.

During this battle, nearly the entire population of the city had been wiped out. No one was left alive — and all because these bastards were after a dragon egg.

"I guess it's about time I leave too," he frowned as his danger sense kept growing stronger and stronger.

He had thought the disaster and danger were only these Heavenly Kings, but apparently, there was something else as well.

Crack!

Without hesitation, he stood up. However, before he could use Fallen Step, he suddenly heard the sound of something breaking.

He turned, and his gaze fell on the dragon egg still on the stage. A large crack had formed on it, and golden light was shining from inside.

He wanted to approach it, but he was hesitant. Even though he wanted the dragon egg too, he didn't dare grab it under the eyes of so many people.

He still hadn't forgotten the disaster he had faced because of Kaelos.

However, before he could think further, another crack appeared on the egg. It was clear that the vibrations from the Heavenly Kings' battle were putting pressure on it.

Even Daniel could feel the fluctuations from here, though they didn't affect him much thanks to his physical strength. But this thing was just an egg, with an extremely fragile structure.

When this much pressure was applied to it, it was bound to start cracking.

'They're not going to blame me for this, right?' Daniel didn't know whether to laugh or cry. At this rate, the egg would definitely break.

'Better just leave. As long as I'm not here, they can't blame me.' He thought to himself and was about to activate Fallen Step.

However, a cute, sweet, childish voice stopped him.

"…Papa?"
