Azur Lane: Isekai'd with Maxed-Out Port

Chapter 313: 305: The Lively Eagle Union Party (Part 2)

Of course, besides the proactive group hell-bent on "draining Lin Lan's kidneys dry," there were also plenty in the laid-back group who were just relieved the Commander had returned and could now finally relax and slack off.

Take the adorable Laffey standing beside Lin Lan, for example—she had just let out a huge yawn.

Alongside her were a pink-haired little chibi sucking on a popsicle, a laid-back light aircraft carrier girl with long black hair and a lazy smile, a heterochromatic chibi with a black ponytail, and a sleepy silver-haired little chibi swaying on her feet, hugging a Manjuu pillow as if she could fall asleep any second.

After Lin Lan had disappeared, these girls had searched for him more eagerly than anyone else.

But now that the Commander had finally returned, they could finally breathe a sigh of relief and return to their true selves.

After all, they knew the Commander best. He'd never fault them for being a little lazy or goofing off.

After finally finishing his speech, Lin Lan realized he had talked for quite a while and delayed the schedule.

But his Eagle Union shipgirls didn't seem to mind at all.

Who could blame them?

The Commander had vanished from the port without a word for so long.

They hadn't heard his voice in forever—getting to listen to him a bit longer was nothing but a blessing.

Naturally, once Lin Lan's speech concluded, it marked the official start of the party.

The first unavoidable segment, of course, was the round of toasts from the battleship girls, led by the gentle and sexy big sister North Carolina and her bold, boisterous sister Washington.

The Eagle Union had no shortage of aircraft carriers, but their lineup of sexy, older-sister-type battleship girls also numbered well into the double digits.

Fortunately, Lin Lan had prepared for this, citing his recent recovery as a reason to drink juice instead of alcohol.

However, a small incident occurred—Washington insisted on toasting him before South Dakota could.

South Dakota, composed and serious as always, didn't object.

But Lin Lan, with a grin, clinked glasses with both of them at the same time while Washington was distracted, downing his juice in one go.

Washington and South Dakota were long-time rivals.

Historically, the two ships' crews were famously not on good terms, constantly at odds.

Even as shipgirls, Washington always found herself wanting to outdo South Dakota in every possible way.

But Lin Lan knew the truth—Washington might seem like she didn't get along with South Dakota, but she actually cared deeply for her.

Whether it was in history—charging into the brutal battle of Ironbottom Sound to rescue South Dakota—or in-game, where her skills gave South Dakota bonus effects, it was clear how much she valued her.

So when Lin Lan "broke the rules" and clinked both their glasses at once, Washington froze, then grabbed Lin Lan by the shoulder in frustration and said:

"Commander, you're totally cheating right now!"

"Hey! Kiddo, you really do look like a young boy again! Come let big sis give you a proper hug!"

As Lin Lan laughed at Washington's flustered reaction, a voice from behind made his heart skip a beat and his face pale.

The next second, he was swept into a warm hug from behind by a tall cowgirl-type big sister.

Wearing a sultry golden evening dress that showed off her stunning figure, the battleship girl Nevada hugged him tight and gently patted his head.

"Nevada, you know I was basically a middle-aged man before. Calling me a 'kiddo' now really doesn't suit me."

Lin Lan turned his head to look at the woman clinging to his back and smiled.

What had just made Lin Lan's hair stand on end was that Nevada, the easiest white-rarity shipgirl to build in the game, would show up constantly in the gacha during limited events.

Her signature phrase "Hey, kiddo!" became the stuff of nightmares for countless unlucky players.

"You still don't get it, huh? A man is a boy until the day he dies. You'll always be a kiddo to me, Commander. Hahaha!"

Nevada let out a hearty laugh and released Lin Lan.

Meanwhile, in front of him, Washington had seen Lin Lan's momentary look of panic and couldn't help but burst out laughing.

"Pffft hahahahaha! Commander, your face just definitely turned pale! I knew the person you feared most in the port had to be Nevada! Hahahaha!"

"Wow, Washington, you're finally laughing like a normal person.

Let me count… ever since you pledged with the Commander and he bought you that new evening dress, it's been, what… three years? No, more—four…"

North Carolina, Washington's tall, blonde-haired, blue-eyed sister, looked at her with genuine surprise, starting to count the time since her last proper smile.

"Seriously, sis?! Who even keeps track of stuff like that?! Stop it! Don't embarrass me in front of the Commander and South Dakota!"

Washington's face turned bright red as she tried to cover her sister's mouth in a panic.

Watching this scene, both Lin Lan and the two sisters standing next to South Dakota—Massachusetts and Alabama, both dressed in stunning evening gowns—couldn't help but smile.

Even South Dakota herself, usually expressionless, couldn't resist a small grin and sighed softly.

Washington, despite her straightforward and popular personality, had a bit of a…

…deficiency?

Lin Lan clearly remembered that in the game, Washington constantly fretted over how to smile, and no matter how hard she practiced, it always came out looking awkward—both in dialogue and illustrations.

But he had just seen it himself—Washington's bright, genuine smile.

He used to think that part of the game was exaggerated, but now, after hearing North Carolina's words, he realized Washington really did struggle with smiling.

Looks like he'd need to help her more in the future.

After finally making it through toasts with New Jersey, research battleship Georgia, the cold-on-the-outside-warm-on-the-inside Colorado, the pitifully lovable Arizona, and a bunch of other battleship girls…

The next wave arrived—led by the sweet pink-haired idol Lexington and her adorable little sister Saratoga, the carrier girls of Eagle Union.

Lin Lan suddenly realized the gravity of the situation.

If this continued, even drinking juice, he'd end up with a stomach full to the brim.

He couldn't exactly toast individually with the battleship girls and then group-toast the carrier girls.

That would make him look like a capital ship supremacist, which was absolutely unacceptable.

When Saratoga joyfully ran up to him, smiling like a sunshine-filled day, Lin Lan affectionately patted her head.

No matter what, his carrier girls deserved individual toasts.

As for the rest of the ship types in Eagle Union… it's not that he didn't want to continue—it's just that his human body had its limits.

The party continued late into the evening.

In the end, Lin Lan couldn't bear to disappoint the heartfelt intentions of his Eagle Union shipgirls.

He used his Hero powers to enhance his body's water circulation, made several extra trips to the restroom, and managed to clink glasses individually with every single Eagle Union shipgirl.

Thank goodness for that Hero skill—otherwise, his dignity as Commander would've gone right out the window.

It was also a wake-up call: if he ever visited the Sakura Empire or Royal Navy, he definitely couldn't drink actual alcohol.

Juice and bathroom trips were one thing—actual liquor in these quantities would be a death sentence.

Some of those more extreme shipgirls would absolutely drag him home and eat him alive by nightfall.

But Lin Lan's worries still came true.

When it was finally the destroyer chibis' turn, girls like Laffey, Hammann, and the Mahan and Gridley classes were manageable—he could call each of their names.

But when the entire Fletcher-class Mini Beaver Team of adorable little chibis swarmed him, his vision nearly went dark.

Thankfully, glasses-wearing overprotective big sister Fletcher noticed his panic and stepped in with a smile to help him out.

The orange twin-tailed chibi used a roll-call system, calling each sister up one by one to toast with Lin Lan using a juice-filled wine glass.

That one round took nearly an hour.

Once it was finally over, Lin Lan swore that he would personally thank Fletcher later—she had really saved his life.

Even the Purifier who once infiltrated his port had tapped out and run off when faced with the hellish challenge of memorizing every Fletcher-class name.

Lin Lan also thanked his lucky stars—not all 100+ Fletcher-class chibis had been implemented in his port.

Otherwise, he would've gone insane just trying to remember their names.
