The attendant spoke in a Shanghai accent, "Serve the people. Comrade, please show your work credentials."

Feng Qingxue put down her luggage and pulled out her work credentials and letter of introduction, "What procedures are needed to stay here?"

The attendant's expression held a hint of arrogance, "You must meet level thirteen in administration!"

Administrative level thirteen refers to the salary grade. Feng Qingxue hadn't been promoted in recent years and still enjoyed the benefits of her battalion-level position, currently considered to be at level seventeen. But she had prepared well; before leaving the capital, she had several letters of introduction, and one of them had the right red seal, allowing her to stay at any hotel, big or small.
