Chapter 492: Fragile
Lina sighed as soon as she was able to relieve herself. It had been hard to look for a restroom without a queue. In the end, she had to go to the farthest restroom on the premises.
Did she take a long time to get there? Yes.
Would it have been the same if she just queued in those long lines? Probably.
But was the act of waiting way worse than looking around for other opportunities? Absolutely!
It was the characteristic of their generation—to be impatient yet tolerant at the same time.
She washed her hands on the sink and prepared to go out of the restroom.
She looked at the time and clicked her tongue. It was possible that she had already missed their pep talk. She shook her head in disappointment. However, even then, she knew that Yuze would handle it well. If there was a person who loved pep talks more than her, then it was Yuze.
Just then, she received a series of text messages from Kai.
Kai: Where are you?
Kai: The game is going to start in 20 minutes.
Kai: Lina, I'm worried. Did you really get a stomach flu?

"A stomach flu?" Lina muttered. "Where did he get such information?"
Kai: If you're not back in a few minutes, I'm going to look for you.
Lina's eyes widened. The game was about to start! He couldn't afford to leave right now. With that, she quickly typed something on her phone.
However, the door opened, revealing a very pretty girl—a very familiar one, at that.
Her eyes widened further as the girl leaned against the door, breathless.
"Goodness," she muttered. "Why the heck did you pick this restroom out of all places?"
Lina pursed her lips. "Uhh," she started off. "There were no lines."
She clicked her tongue and shook her head. "That would work in my favor, I guess."
"Huh?" Lina asked, tilting her head to the side. "It seems like you have followed me here, Kimmy Wang."
Kimmy raised one eyebrow and stopped leaning on the door. "You know my name?"
Lina nodded. "Yeah," she said. She had been researching about her the moment she showed interest in Kai. Of course, she knew her!
"Johnny Wang's daughter and Jimmy Wang's sister," Lina said.
Kimmy frowned, crossing her arms in front of her chest. "That's not just who I am," she spat, making Lina surprised. However, even then, she understood why she reacted in such a way.
"Of course," Lina smiled. "You're your own person. Nobody can take that away."
Kimmy's expression softened, but it only lasted for a second.
"Anyway," Lina said, clearing her throat. "It was lovely meeting you. However, I really need to go back to the court."
Lina was about to move to the door when Kimmy stood in front of it.
Lina's eyebrows raised in inquiry, and she looked eyes with Kimmy.
"Umm, do you have anything else to say?" Lina asked.
Kimmy smirked and kept her hands at the sides of the door, not letting Lina pass through.
"Yes, actually," Kimmy said. "What's your relationship with Kai Guo?"
Lina was surprised once again. Why was she suddenly asking this?
"He's a player of the team that I manage," she said the most basic answer.
However, Kimmy wasn't convinced. "Is that really it?" she asked. "That's all there is to it, right?"
Lina felt something pinch her heart. It felt as though Kimmy was merely clarifying it so that she could make a move if it was true that they only had a business-like relationship.
So, with that, Lina felt the need to tell the truth. There was no hiding it already. She had already told her dad. Although, she didn't bother hearing her reaction because she was too scared. However, even then, there was nothing to hide anymore!
With that, she raised her chin and smiled. "We're dating," she proudly said.
Kimmy felt her blood run cold.
The guy she liked...couldn't be hers?
It was then that she realized how similar she truly was with her brother. She hated some of his characteristics, but in the end, they were the same.
They were spoiled little brats who had everything handed to them on a silver plate.
Of course, that didn't come without a prize. That also meant they had to carry the burden of expectation. However, was it their fault for letting it get too far?
Lina cleared her throat, making Kimmy snap out of her thoughts.
"We like each other," she continued. "Is that enough information now?"
"Honestly, I really don't know why I'm saying all of this to you, but thanks for asking me, I guess. I know that you like him. I hope that you will respect our relationship," she kindly said.
"Now, I really need to go. I bet Kai is looking for me now," she added, wanting to get through the door.
However, even then, Kimmy merely strengthened her determination. She looked up at Lina with a slight glare, making Lina freeze in her spot.
Now, she wasn't weak. In fact, she was stronger than most girls her age despite having a metal leg.
However, Kimmy Wang was on a whole other dimension. When she and Suzy looked her up on the internet, it was shown that she was a black belter in Taekwondo, played Tennis, Golf, and Fencing as a hobby, and also loved to watch basketball games.
This girl was a monster!
Lina gulped as she saw the intensity in her eyes.
"Jimmy was right," she muttered.
Lina frowned and looked at her phone. "Crap," she muttered.

Meanwhile, Kai was still restless on the court. His emotions were getting to him.
Lina would usually calm him down during this time, but she wasn't there too.
As he looked around, he was reminded once more that he didn't have a family to support him. He shook his head and glanced to the side.
There, he saw Jian, who appeared to be pampered by his parents and little sister. He frowned. For someone so complex and cold, he expected him to have a much bitter life story.
However, from the surface, it looked as if he had a perfect family life, too.
With that, he shook his head and stood from the bench, making Andy and Jinping, who was right by his side, surprised.
"Where are you going?" Andy asked.
"To find Lina," Kai said.
