Chapter 54: Chapter 54: Lucy's First S-Class Quest
After a few days had passed, Erza and Natsu returned from Crocus, earning him a stern lecture from Gramps, though it was quite the opposite for everyone else. "Heh, nice job, Natsu!" Grinning at Natsu, I extended my arm, giving him a fist bump, to which he responded with a smile of his own. "Haha, of course, big bro; if you mess with one of us, you mess with all of us!" Said Natsu with a toothy grin, while Erza sighed. "You shouldn't be encouraging his actions, big bro. You know he listens to you the most." Dismissively waving my hand at Erza, I locked my arm around her shoulder, pulling her into my embrace. "Heh, if that's so, I should be encouraging him even more." Once again, Erza just sighed.
"So, what was the verdict, Erza?" Asked Bisca curiously while cleaning her weapons, prompting everyone to curiously look at Erza, me included. "I was guilty, but I received no punishment." Said Erza lightly as she sat down, while I nodded before turning around and approaching the door. "Guilty? Hehe, let me go and change their minds." Intending to head Crocus and beat the living shit out of the Magic Council, I was quickly stopped by nearly everyone as they grabbed my limbs, preventing me from leaving the guild. "D-Don't, big bro; you'll cause more problems!" "Urgh, w-why is he so strong!?" "P-Please, stop!"
With just the strength of my body, I tore through whatever magic my little siblings used to bind me, though just before I managed to leave the guild despite roughly everyone holding me down, I suddenly dropped to my knee when I felt a mighty bludgeon to the back of my head, causing me to raise my head as I glanced at Erza donned in her purgatory armor with a large spiked mace bigger than herself resting on her shoulders. "Can you stop, big bro? I'm fine; I received no punishment, and you attacking Magic Council members will not help Fairy Tail or you." Said Erza solemnly as she eyed me, causing me to narrow my eyes before grunting. "Hmph, fine."
Although I didn't want to, since Erza said so, I reluctantly decided to leave the Magic Council members alone, causing everyone who had previously been holding me back to heave a sigh of relief; however, just because I wouldn't touch the Magic Council, that doesn't mean the guild masters that had snitched on Erza would be exempt from this. 'What were their guilds called? I'll visit them next time I'm in the area.' Since I decided to leave the whole Magic Council arresting Erza alone, the guild returned to its typical lively atmosphere while I headed to the request board, searching for quests in specific area's.
"We're taking another job?" Asked Lucy as she stood beside me while I nodded before grabbing an easy quest; well, at least for me, which involved subjugating a troll occupying a bridge, but that wasn't why I grabbed it. 'Heh, aren't there two guilds near this area?' Licking my lips, I carried Lucy like a purse and dashed out of the guild with a feral grin. "C-Can you at least carry me normally?"

After returning from the quest a few days later, along with an exhausted Lucy, who retired to her apartment first thing when arriving in Magnolia, the following day, Mystogan walked through the front door, though following him came an intense drowsiness that caused everyone to fall unconscious, including Mira and Erza, granted they managed to resist the spell for some time. Laxus, Gramps, and I were the only ones still awake, with me being entirely unaffected thanks to my magic.
"Heh, if it isn't Mystogan, you return like once every two months and don't even say hello to your big bro?" Appearing beside Mystogan, I nudged his side while heading to the second floor, where Laxus was silently watching in the corner. "Hello." Said Mystogan curtly as he grabbed an SS-class quest before turning around and walking downstairs toward Gramps while I blankly stared at him from the balcony of the second floor. 'This little punk.' With a twitching expression, I watched Mystogan leave the guild, though before he did, I tossed a cup at him. "Oi, next time, you better introduce yourself to Lucy; she's our newest member." Narrowing my eyes at Mystogan, he briefly stopped and glanced at Lucy, who was passed out beside Levy, before nodding.
As Mystogan left the building, the potent sleeping spell he had invoked slowly wore off, with Erza and Mira waking up first, followed by everyone else randomly. "Ahh, that was a good nap… Did Mystogan visit?" Asked Mira as she flashed a smile while stretching, prompting me to nod, though just as her eyes twinkled with a mischievous glint, it quickly vanished when she looked at Laxus, causing me to lightly shake my head as I knew what she was about to do.
After a few minutes, once everyone awakened, Lucy asked questions about what happened with Levy, and a few others answered her, which ended up with Laxus proclaiming he'd seen Mystogan's face, something I had no idea if such a thing was true or not, but then it descended into him arrogantly bragging about his strength. "Oi, get your ass down here, Laxus, so I can beat you!" Yelled Natsu loudly from the first floor as he glared at Laxus, who flashed a grin. "Why don't you come up here and fight me? I'm not going anywhere." Laxus's words easily provoked Natsu, who attempted to make his way up here, though Gramps stopped him as the second floor was for S-class mages only.
'Huh, maybe Lucy and I should take an S-class quest?' Although it might've been a bit early to take Lucy on an S-class quest, I was confident in protecting her if it was merely an S or SS-class quest. "Ten-year quests are in a completely different league, though." Muttering under my breath, I searched through the request board, trying to find something relatively easy, though my eyes narrowed when I saw a specific quest. '... Galuna Island.' Through the many dark guilds I've destroyed, I've learned that the demon, Deliora, had been secretly moved to that island, the same demon on my list of enemies to kill.
Taking the quest, I leaped off the second floor and handed it to Gramps, who allowed me to take it; stuffing the paper in my pocket, I approached Gray, who was arguing with Elfman. "Oi, Gray, you're coming on a quest with Lucy and I tomorrow." "Um, s-sure." Said Gray hesitantly while I nodded before approaching Lucy. "I got us a quest, and Gray is tagging along." Handing Lucy the quest, she nodded, only for her eyes to widen. "A-An S-class quest? Y-You don't think t-that's a bit too much for me? Won't I hold you back?" "Don't worry, Lucy; big bro is reckless, but he wouldn't dare put anyone's life at risk. Not once has anyone been harmed when taking a quest with him… Well, except him." Said Laki with a faint smile as she tapped Lucy's shoulder, causing her to slightly nod.
"I'm not even that reckless, Laki." "Uh, huh, sure, of course you're not." Given Laki's sarcastic tone, she clearly didn't believe me, causing me to roll my eyes, though I just ignored her. "We're leaving tomorrow morning, also; there is a reason why I picked that quest; look at the reward." Rubbing Laki and Lucy's heads, I left the guild and visited the brothel in Magnolia, hoping to have some fun. However, like always, I was refused access and forced to spend the day frustrated. 'Hmph, the only thing I can count on is these kebabs.'

When the next day arrived, first thing in the morning, Lucy, Gray, and I took a train to Hargeon, which was where we'd then take a ship to Galuna Island. "So, the quest involves curing a group of humans transforming into Demons at night?" Asked Gray with a raised eyebrow as he looked at Lucy and I, prompting her to nod while I shrugged my shoulders. "Yes." "I don't know." Gray rubbed his face with a twitching expression and began to speak with Lucy about the quest, acquiring more details, which was fine since only I knew that Deliora had been taken to Galuna Island.
"Anyway, why did you want me to come along, big bro? I'm sure you and Lucy could've handled it… Well, considering this seems like a quest that requires more intellect than strength, maybe not." Clicking my tongue, I flicked Gray's head, causing him to hiss in pain while I folded my arms and closed my eyes. "You'll find out eventually; until then, just sit back and be quiet."
The ride to Hargeon wasn't too long, only two hours, and after paying for a quick breakfast, we headed to the dock, intending to find a boat to take us to Galuna Island, only to find out we arrived an hour too late. "Damn… So tomorrow?" Asked Gray with a raised eyebrow while I glanced at Lucy with a faint smile. "No… I know what you're thinking, and no, big bro." Said Lucy blandly, causing me to grunt as I walked further onto the dock.
Spotting a small wooden boat, I unattached it from the dock and leaped into the water while biting the rope before raising my head at Lucy and Gray, standing above me on the pier. "Are you for real, big bro?"
