Becoming a Deity from Planting the Bodhi Tree

Chapter 205: Void Skeleton, Uniqueness

Deep within the Plane World.

Three people stood side by side on a mountaintop, overlooking a vast ancient city ruin below, where many members of the Four Gods Church and the enslaved Martial Artists they dominated were excavating; the total number reached thousands.

Beneath the surface, their continuous efforts had unearthed the partial skeletal outline of what was an enormous beast, still well-preserved but buried deep underground.

"The progress is too slow, we are still short of hands; we need to dispatch more Martial Artists from the rear."

The Fourth Divine Son of the Four Gods Church, Crassus, frowned as he spoke.

Beside him, Weber shook his head. He was the Fifth Divine Son and had a good relationship with Crassus. Originally ranked fifth and sixth, their positions moved up a notch after the death of Wan Shensan, the previous Fourth Divine Son.

He wondered if he should be thankful for that.

Weber said, "We can't pull more people for now. Although Sky Star City is under our control, these Nine States Martial Artists are not our slaves. If we keep pushing them, even if they don't rebel, there will be a mass desertion, leaving Sky Star City, and eventually, the natives will turn against us too."

Crassus sneered, "If you ask me, we should let the worship of the Venerable God flourish and bear fruit on the Ancient Road; let all those who disbelieve perish."

Weber was speechless; does he think the Ancient Road is owned by the Church?

Even during the years of the Four Gods' invasion of the Nine States, they dared not openly make enemies, always adopting softer approaches.

Like in Buddha Country of the Yanfu State, their expansion strategy was to avoid war as much as possible, choosing a gentle integration from the grassroots upwards.

By the time those civilizations realized, most of their lower-class citizens had been enveloped by Buddha Country. Unless a civilization could decisively purge these people, any hesitation would result in them being gradually assimilated by Buddha Country, like a virus spreading...

"Mr. Mu, do you think our current pace is acceptable?" Weber looked towards the man standing beside them.

Among them, treated as a distinguished guest, was a man whose face was covered, revealing only a pair of dark golden eyes, unlike human eyes.

"The more people, the better. The Void Giant Beast, though fallen for countless years, still harbors some remnants of will; it's perfect to use these people for a sacrifice," Mr. Mu spoke indifferently, "The sooner we reach the core, the sooner we can perform the ritual and open the passage."

Crassus and Weber exchanged a glance, their looks subtle.

"Who?"

The masked man suddenly turned towards some nearby bushes.

Not only him, but the two Divine Sons of the Four Gods Church also noticed movement in the bushes, rustling sounds among the leaves, indicating something was inside.

Crassus's expression turned cold, just about to make a move to overturn the bushes when suddenly, a small, round-headed creature with a naive and clear stupidity in its eyes popped out, looking quite naive and cute.

The two Divine Sons were momentarily stunned.

"Didn't they say that all life forms in this Plane World had been wiped out?" Crassus frowned, "A fish that escaped the net?"

Weber stared at the small tiger-like creature in front of him; he spoke softly, "This is not an ordinary beast; albeit harmless-looking, the life fluctuations within are at least on par with a Divine Travel Warrior. Is it a Mythical Creature? No wonder it escaped the purge."

Crassus's interest was piqued: "A Mythical Creature? So young, just in its juvenile phase, yet already comparable to Divine Travel? What kind of lineage is this, almost catching up to the Void Giant Beast? Could it be an Innate Divine Beast?"

Ordinary Mythical Creatures would not catch their eye; usually, those creatures grow slowly and have low ceilings, but Innate Mythical Creatures are exceptions, possessing extremely high Divine Positions and comprehensive potential comparable to that of a Void Giant Beast and even rarer than them.

"Interesting, let's take it back and raise it for now," Crassus chuckled lightly, striding toward the little creature to capture it.

He held back his strength, precisely controlling his force, after all, it was just a tiger cub equivalent to a Divine Travel Warrior, and he had already undergone five Transformations within the Divine Travel Realm and was about to enter the middle to late stages.

Weber did not interfere; he furrowed his brows, seeming to think of something, murmuring:

"An Innate Mythical Creature born on the Ancient Road?"

As far as he knew, the entire Nine States couldn't possibly nurture a Void Giant Beast, as this fractured universe had "died," losing the ability to nurture new life forms, similarly, it should be the case for Innate Mythical Creatures.

Beside him, Mr. Mu stared intently at the tiger cub and remained silent, his gaze never leaving the young tiger.

"Hey, it runs pretty fast."

Crassus reached out to grab it, but the tiger cub dodged by tilting its head and, as if frightened, turned and darted into the bushes.

"Interesting, I'll be right back."

Since Crassus had made a move, he wouldn't let a tiger cub escape from his hands.

He lightly tapped the ground with his toe, leaping into the forest.

"Don't play too long, catch it and come back soon," Weber called from behind.

He wasn't worried about Crassus encountering any trouble, after all, this was their territory, and with Crassus's Divine Favored status, his strength was second only to the most powerful warriors.

As Crassus and the tiger cub disappeared into the forest, Weber politely said to Mr. Mu, "I apologize for the spectacle, Mr. Mu."

Mr. Mu unexpectedly replied, "That young tiger, is not a Mythical Creature."

Weber instinctively asked, "Then what is it?"

"It's a Spiritual Image, a kind of external Manifestation of Inner Realm visualization... a very interesting Secret Technique, to think it could mimic reality so genuinely in this realm."

Mr. Mu was both answering him and seemingly speaking to himself,

"Moreover, I can sense that its appearance just now is not its true nature, but merely a disguise; its essence is hidden very deeply, even I can't see through it, just vaguely feeling a breath that even makes my heart palpitate. I'm a bit curious about who the Warrior behind it might be."
