Ben 10: Rise of New Ultimates

Chapter 5: Episode 5: Crystal and Chronos: A Null Void Collision

Ben's mind churned, a chaotic storm mirroring the turbulent energy of the Null Void. Vilgax, now a grotesque fusion of himself and the dimension's raw crystalline power, was a threat unlike any he had faced. The oppressive weight of the situation threatened to crush him. He could feel Gwen's and Kevin's anxiety radiating outwards, a palpable tension in the already suffocating atmosphere. This wasn't some rogue alien wreaking havoc on Bellwood; this was *Vilgax*, amplified by forces beyond comprehension. A chilling premonition gripped him; this wasn't just a fight for survival, it was a battle for the fate of everything. He could feel his hands clammy, but steeled himself as he knew that his friends were relying on him. Their lives were literally in his hands. He had to push the fear aside, think clearly, and act decisively. The universe, as always, needed Ben Tennyson. Not just any Ben Tennyson, but the hero he was always meant to be. The weight of that truth settled heavily on his shoulders. He glanced at Gwen and Kevin, their faces etched with concern. They were waiting for him, trusting his judgment, despite the overwhelming odds. The bond between them was a tangible thing, a source of strength and resolve in the face of utter despair. They were a team. Always had been, always would be. And they would face this together, no matter the cost.

"We need a plan," Gwen said, her voice barely a whisper, yet sharp with urgency. Her mana swirled around her, a comforting beacon of light in the oppressive darkness. "Fighting him head-on is suicide. We need to exploit his weaknesses, find a way to disrupt his connection to that crystal energy." She bit her lip, her eyes darting around the cavern, searching for anything that might give them an edge. "But what *are* his weaknesses, considering how powerful he is now?" Kevin nodded grimly, his gaze fixed on Vilgax. "She's right. Pure strength won't cut it this time. We need something… unexpected. Something that can level the playing field." He slammed his fist into his palm, his brow furrowed in concentration. "But what? We're trapped in the Null Void, with limited resources and a crystal-powered Vilgax breathing down our necks. Great."

Ben's mind raced, analyzing the cavern, the crystalline structure, Vilgax himself. Every detail was crucial. He remembered Grandpa Max's words, echoing in his mind, "Sometimes, the greatest strength lies not in brute force, but in exploiting your enemy's vulnerabilities." He focused on the crystalline structure, remembering the corrupted Diamondheads. They were powerful, but brittle. What if he could exploit that weakness, amplify it somehow? A dangerous idea sparked to life in his mind, reckless and daring, but potentially their only hope. "I have an idea," he said, his voice low and steady, masking the tremor of fear that ran through him. "It's insane. It's suicide. And it might just work." He paused, meeting their gazes. "But it relies on perfect timing, and absolute trust." He activated the Ultimatrix, the familiar green light pulsing around him. His bones twisted, muscles contorted, and metallic plates erupted across his skin. He became Armodrillo, his armored form thrumming with seismic energy. He felt the raw power coursing through him, the ability to manipulate the earth itself. But this time, it felt different. The Ultimatrix was resonating with the Null Void's energy, amplifying his abilities, but also making him feel… unstable.

"Armodrillo?" Kevin exclaimed, his voice laced with disbelief. "Seriously, Tennyson? You're gonna *dig* our way out of this? Against *Vilgax*?" Gwen shot Kevin a warning look, then turned back to Ben, her expression filled with concern. "Ben, are you sure about this? That energy… it's affecting you. I can feel it. This isn't like you."

Ben ignored their protests, his focus unwavering. He could feel the Null Void's energy coursing through him, tempting him with its power, promising him victory. But he pushed it back, clinging to the memory of his friends, of his family, of everything he was fighting to protect. He slammed his seismic arms into the ground, unleashing a series of localized earthquakes. The cavern shook violently, rocks rained down from the ceiling, and the crystalline structure groaned under the strain. The corrupted Diamondheads stumbled, their fragile forms cracking and splintering. Vilgax, however, remained unmoved, his crystal-encased body radiating power. He glared at Ben, his eyes burning with contempt. "Pathetic, Tennyson," he sneered, his voice echoing through the cavern. "You think you can defeat me with such childish tricks? I am the master of this dimension! My power is limitless!"

Ben ignored him, focusing on his task. He slammed his arms into the ground again and again, creating a network of fissures across the cavern floor. His goal was to destabilize the crystalline structure, to disrupt Vilgax's connection to the Null Void's energy source. But he knew it wasn't enough. Vilgax's power was too immense. With a roar of rage, Vilgax unleashed a wave of crystalline energy, shattering Ben's seismic attacks with ease. A massive crystal pillar erupted from the floor, slamming into Ben and pinning him against the cavern wall. The impact knocked the wind out of him, and he struggled to breathe. He could feel the crystal energy burning into his skin, threatening to overwhelm him.

"Enough games, Tennyson!" Vilgax bellowed, striding towards him, his crystal-encased form looming over him like a monstrous golem. "Hand over the Ultimatrix, and I might consider sparing your friends. Refuse, and I will crush you all!" Ben strained against the crystal pillar, his steel-plated body groaning under the immense pressure. He knew he couldn't hold out much longer. He needed more power, more control over the very earth beneath their feet. He needed to unleash the full potential of Ultimate Armodrillo. With a desperate surge of will, he slammed the Ultimatrix once more. The transformation was excruciating, his body contorting and reshaping into something even more formidable. Steel plates hardened, seismic armor erupted across his body, and massive, glowing yellow drills extended from his arms. He was Ultimate Armodrillo, a being of pure seismic destruction. He felt the raw power coursing through him, the ability to generate earthquakes of unimaginable magnitude, to collapse entire structures with a single blow. He roared, unleashing a wave of seismic energy that shattered the crystal pillar into dust. He was free. He charged towards Vilgax, his glowing yellow drills spinning at terrifying speed, pulverizing everything in their path. He slammed his drills into the ground, unleashing a catastrophic earthquake. The cavern buckled and groaned, the crystalline structure cracking and collapsing, and the corrupted Diamondheads were thrown off their feet, their fragile forms dissolving into glittering shards.

Vilgax staggered, his crystal-encased body trembling under the onslaught of seismic energy. For the first time, Ben saw a flicker of doubt in his eyes. He was finally getting through to him. With a savage grin, Ben slammed his drills into the ground again, creating a localized gravitational instability. The very laws of physics seemed to bend around them, the cavern twisting and distorting in unnatural ways. The ceiling began to collapse, huge chunks of rock and crystal raining down upon them. "Gwen! Kevin! Get out of here! Now!" Ben bellowed, his voice barely audible above the roar of the collapsing cavern. Gwen summoned a massive mana shield, protecting them from the falling debris. Kevin absorbed some nearby rocks, his body transforming into a protective shell. They fought their way through the collapsing cavern, dodging falling rocks and crumbling crystals, desperately trying to reach the entrance to the passage. They reached the entrance, only to find it blocked by a massive pile of rubble. "We're trapped!" Gwen cried, her voice filled with despair. Ben roared in frustration and slammed his drills into the rubble, tearing through the rocks and creating a narrow opening. They squeezed through the opening, emerging back into the main cavern.

The scene was even more chaotic than before. The crystalline structure was in complete collapse, its unleashed energy creating chaotic waves of destruction. Vilgax stood in the center of it all, his crystal-encased body radiating raw power, his eyes burning with furious rage. "You will pay for this, Tennyson!" he roared, unleashing a wave of crystalline energy that engulfed the entire cavern. Ben knew they couldn't stay here. They needed to escape the Null Void, before it was too late. He activated the Null Void Projector, the swirling vortex of energy forming in its center, offering a desperate escape route.
