Chapter 19: Chapter 18
Hoon stepped outside, where the bodyguards and villagers were waiting. He instructed the bodyguards to distribute the goods they had brought, and soon the villagers were bustling with excitement, grateful for the unexpected generosity.
As the villagers celebrated, Hoon gathered them around him. With a warm smile, he announced, "I want to make your lives easier, especially since many of you are elderly. I'll ensure that you're well taken care of, right here in this village."
The villagers' faces lit up with joy, and they thanked Hoon for his kindness, especially for looking after his grandmother and Masika. However, when Hoon mentioned that he wanted to relocate them to a more comfortable environment, the villagers hesitated.
They told Hoon that they cherished their peaceful life in the village and would prefer to stay. However, they welcomed his offer to help them from afar.
Hoon nodded understandingly and promised to improve their living conditions. "I'll connect running water to each household, renovate the homes, and provide everything you need to live comfortably," he assured them.
The villagers were overjoyed, thanking Hoon for his generosity and kindness.
As the sun began to set, Hoon returned to his grandmother's home, feeling content and fulfilled, knowing that he was making a positive impact on the people and place he loved.
Hoon sat down with his grandmother and Masika, his eyes shining with excitement. "I'm taking you both with me," he announced, his voice filled with conviction.
His grandmother's expression turned hesitant. "But Hoon, I'm used to living here. I don't want to leave these elderly people behind. They need me."
Hoon's face softened, understanding his grandmother's concerns. "I know, Halmoni. But I promise you, I'll build a hospital-like nursing home for them. They'll receive the best care, and all their needs will be met."
His grandmother's eyes welled up with tears, overwhelmed by Hoon's generosity. Masika, too, was torn between excitement and sadness. She would miss the villagers, but she was also eager to start a new life with Hoon.
The grandmother nodded, a gentle smile on her face. "We can go, but we'll visit them often, okay?" Hoon nodded, relieved that his grandmother had agreed.
As they discussed their plans, Hoon instructed them to pack only their valuables, leaving behind their clothes, shoes, and bags. "I'll buy you new things," he promised.
Outside, the villagers were abuzz with excitement, eagerly anticipating the new life that Hoon's generosity would bring. However, the bodyguards and assistant were still whispering among themselves, curious about Masika's mysterious background.
"Who is she, really?" one of them asked. "Where did she come from? When did Hoon meet her?" The assistant shook his head. "I've never seen anyone like her. She's... otherworldly."
The bodyguards exchanged skeptical glances, unsure what to make of Masika's enigmatic presence.
But one thing was certain: she had captivated Hoon's heart, and he would stop at nothing to protect her.
