Chapter 5: Chapter 5
The doctor's words hung in the air like a challenge. "She's pregnant," he announced, his voice dripping with a mixture of surprise and curiosity.
The traffickers exchanged glances, their faces reflecting a range of emotions. Some looked annoyed, others intrigued. One of them, a tall, gaunt man with sunken eyes, spoke up.
"We can wait," he said, his voice low and menacing. "We can wait for her to give birth, and then we'll harvest the baby's organs too."
Nzanzu's eyes widened in horror as the traffickers began to discuss the financial benefits of harvesting her baby's organs. She felt a wave of relief wash over her, knowing that she wouldn't be killed immediately. But that relief was short-lived, replaced by a sense of astonishment and shock.
She was pregnant. From the rape.
Nzanzu's mind reeled as she struggled to process this new information. She had been so focused on survival, on finding a way to escape, that she hadn't even considered the possibility of being pregnant.
But now that she knew, Nzanzu felt a surge of determination. She had to save herself, not just for her own sake, but for the sake of her unborn child. She had to protect her baby, no matter what.
But how? Nzanzu had no idea where she was, or how to escape. She was trapped, at the mercy of these ruthless traffickers.
As she lay there, trying to think of a plan, Nzanzu felt a familiar sensation wash over her. She was being sedated again, her eyelids growing heavy as the world around her began to fade...
Nzanzu's eyes slowly fluttered open, her mind foggy from the sedation. She was disoriented, unsure of where she was or how she had gotten there.
As her gaze cleared, she saw that she was in a small, cramped container. The walls were made of rusted metal, and the air was thick with the smell of decay.
Nzanzu's heart sank as she realized that she had been moved again. She had no idea where she was or who had taken her. All she knew was that she was alone, and she was trapped.
As she looked around the container, Nzanzu's eyes landed on a small window high up on one wall. It was barred, but it looked like it hadn't been opened in years. Nzanzu's curiosity got the better of her, and she struggled to her feet, using the wall to support herself.
She peered out the window, and what she saw took her breath away. The container was surrounded by a dense forest, the trees towering above her like giants. Nzanzu saw birds flitting through the branches, and a faint rustling sound came from the underbrush.
But what really caught Nzanzu's attention was the glimpse of a village in the distance. She saw tiny houses with curved roofs, and people moving about, going about their daily business. Nzanzu's heart leapt with hope. Maybe, just maybe, she could escape and find help in that village.
But as she looked closer, Nzanzu realized that the village was far, far away. She was deep in the forest, surrounded by nothing but trees and wildlife. And she had no idea how to get out...
