Billionaire in Kingsman with a Marvel System

Chapter 262: Chapter 262: Always Be Prepared

Early the next morning, William, who was sleeping soundly, was woken up by Sunday. "Sir, Mr. Daniel Craig is awake. Do you need to see him?"

William, still groggy and lying in bed, replied, "Hmm, have someone prepare clothes for him and take him to freshen up. I'll have breakfast with him in an hour. Wake me up in twenty minutes."

"Understood, Sir."

An hour later, William greeted Craig, who had changed into formal wear, in the dining room. "Good morning. How did you sleep last night?"

"Very well, it's the best sleep I've had in months. Thank you, William, I owe you one," Craig said excitedly. "Can I ask where you got that emergency kit you mentioned? I feel like my body has fully recovered, maybe even better than a few months ago."

"Sorry, that item is still in the lab phase. I just happened to have a stake in the company by chance, which is why I was able to get a semi-finished product," William said apologetically while shaking his head. "You used it, so you should understand the potential profits such an emergency kit could generate. To avoid trouble, it's best to keep this a secret."

Craig nodded, "Don't worry, I won't tell anyone. Heh, with billions at stake, not to mention killing someone, it wouldn't be a problem to overthrow a small country."

"Good to hear," William liked dealing with smart people—no need to say much, and Craig filled in the gaps himself. "Sit down, breakfast is ready."

After the two quietly finished their breakfast, William said, "Interested in hunting some grouse? It'll give you a chance to see if your shooting skills have declined."

"No problem. Does that mean I'm under your command now?" Craig asked, unsurprised.

"Yeah, you should know what happened recently."

Craig nodded, "I saw it on the news."

"A series of events have caused everyone involved to be under suspicion. So, Gareth Mallory, the chairman of the Security Council, approached me. My current role is a special envoy in charge of investigating the leak. But you know me, I avoid this kind of thing whenever I can. This time, though, the Security Council offered me something I couldn't refuse, but I have a lot on my plate, so I thought of you."

William turned to look into Craig's eyes and said, "You wouldn't mind if I handed the task over to you, would you?"

Craig responded easily, "Of course, whether for public or personal reasons, I'm definitely taking this on."

"Good. You'll handle the operations, and I'll handle logistics and intelligence. I've received information that the person you captured a few months ago will be heading to Lion City, so I left a tactical team in Malaysia with equipment ready to support you."

William led Craig into the armory and handed him a black box.

After Craig opened it, William explained, "The phone has been modified from a standard one. It looks like a regular phone, but it has an added GPS system and communication function. As long as it's on, it can track your location worldwide. The belt buckle is a backup GPS and receiver in case your phone gets confiscated. The earpiece fits inside your ear and picks up vibrations from your eardrum when you speak, transmitting the sound. It connects to both the phone and belt buckle, but on its own, it only has a transmission range of five kilometers. And most importantly, these glasses."

William took out a pair of wide-rimmed black sunglasses from the box and said, "These glasses represent the most advanced technology currently available. Once connected to the phone, they can transmit data via satellite back to the main server, marking and analyzing what you see. They also have photo-taking, facial recognition, overlay, voice navigation, and positioning functions."

Seeing Craig's astonishment, William smiled and said, "How does it compare to what you've seen before? Pretty advanced, right?"

Craig nodded blankly.

"Oh, by the way, the glasses and phone only have a three-day battery life. If they don't receive my authorization after three days, they'll self-destruct. Be careful; if you're trapped somewhere with no signal and the time runs out, don't keep them on you, or they'll burn you beyond recognition."

"F**k," Craig was startled by William's words and complained, "You'd have to be pretty bold or stupid to use these devices. What if something goes wrong? It'd be a ridiculous way to die."

"Haha, don't worry, they won't explode. When they self-ignite, the battery heats up, giving you enough time to dispose of the phone and glasses. And they're very safe under normal conditions. They only self-ignite when a special command is received, causing the battery to short circuit. But the phone has a special feature—if you're in a dire situation, you can input a command, and the battery will short circuit to release all its energy in seconds, making it explode like a grenade."

Craig thought for a moment and said, "Kind of like a transformer short-circuiting and exploding?"

"Exactly. These devices, when fully charged, can last five days. This box is the charger. It can be plugged in or solar-charged. Put the devices back in the box, open the panel on the lid, pull out the wire, and unfold the solar panel. Place it under the sun, and the devices will be fully charged in four hours. Of course, the devices can't be exposed directly to sunlight."

Among these devices, the earpiece and belt buckle were purchased directly, while the phone and glasses' technology were existing pieces from various labs that William had Sunday steal and combine. The glasses may sound advanced, but they were just receivers and cameras. All functions required data to be transmitted through the phone to an external server, processed by Sunday. Without Sunday, the glasses were useless.

They were far inferior to the glasses in the Devonshire I combat armor helmet that William had invented himself. So even if the technology of these glasses were leaked, William wouldn't be heartbroken, as the patents belonged to those labs anyway.

Therefore, the most crucial components of these devices were the system and battery. With Sunday, William felt assured. The battery was a special lithium-sulfur battery that he had spent 10 million pounds on to assemble himself, probably about ten years ahead of what was currently available in the world. William had taken extreme precautions with the battery.

He didn't tell Craig that the battery in this batch was a special version, designed to self-destruct if opened, charged, or used up to 99%.

Craig put on the equipment, "Are you sure there won't be any problems?"

"It's like C4. As long as it isn't armed, you can hit it with a hammer or shoot it, and nothing will happen. As long as I don't give the order, these devices are safe. This is just to prevent the technology from being stolen. If we don't take precautions, these technologies might not be mine after just a few days."

"Heh," Craig felt a bit guilty under William's gaze. Although his face showed no signs, William sensed a flicker in Craig's eyes, indicating that Craig had indeed considered such thoughts.

But William was prepared, knowing these special agents couldn't be fully trusted. He had taken precautions, so he didn't get angry. Pointing to the 60-year-old shotgun, William said, "Other than this shotgun, feel free to choose whatever you want."

After changing into hunting gear, the two took their shotguns, loaded with several rounds of ammunition, and left the castle. To avoid trouble, William called the stables and had two employees drive behind them to collect the game.
