Black Clover: Nah I'd Lose

Chapter 73: 73. You are dying due to my selfishness.

(Guys, for the Poll result, Mimosa won. Just telling so it's not going to change later. Anyway, Today, I am doing a mass release of 5 Chapters as I want this arc to be done quickly, seeing how fewer people are invested in it.

I have also decided that instead of having weekly powerstone goals, I would keep goals according to cumulative powerstone goal such that in a week if you didn't reach that goal, at least your powerstones won't be wasted unlike now, where each powertstone matters.

Currently, we have 3.76k powerstones(cumulative), so the next mass release would be when we reach 5.69k powerstones.

What do you think?)

"So, how are we going to create chaos?" Erza asked the most important question.

They were currently walking deeper inside the base while seeing multiple grotesque creatures, which were undoubtedly devils.

"We could free all these low-ranking devils," Akeru suggested while entering a room first.

His face turned grim as he saw the contents inside.

He exited the room.

"I think that will create too many casualties, as you mentioned just earlier that a Grand Magic knight level is required," Erza said while growing curious about what Akeru had seen inside.

So, she went inside and found many humans of varying ages with weird deformations in their bodies, making them no longer human.

"I know. I was just testing you," Akeru said while walking in a different direction with Erza following him.

"The strongest person here is a vice-captain-level individual. Do you want to try fighting him?" Akeru asked.

"Sure, but what about the chaos?" Erza was internally overjoyed at the prospect of a good battle.

"I will destroy the entire base. It should be enough to make the upper echelon panic," Akeru said while checking the boundaries of the base with his '3D Witness spell'.

He stopped near a door.

"Well, that sounds good," Erza had no qualms about this, as this place was truly cursed given how many disturbing things she had seen thus far.

"Cool, so..." Akeru said while opening the door with one hand and thinking of a phrase he was supposed to say.

"WHO-" Before the person inside could complete his statement, Akeru made his move.

"Erza, I choose you!" He said while throwing her inside before she could perceive what happened.

One moment she heard somebody shouting, and the next, she was thrown into the room, with a man looking at her.

Suddenly, she felt a wave of mana penetrates the room.

She was not the only one who felt it this way, as every knight who was decent enough could sense the same thing throughout the entire bunker.

One moment later, all the communication artifacts similar to the one Erza had seen before in the hands of the Intermediate-level knight were destroyed.

Two moments later, all devices which could be used to communicate were destroyed by green lightning, which had previously destroyed the artifacts.

Those who realized what had transpired in these few moments were terrified as no humans were harmed, but all things that could have made their situation better were destroyed.

If somebody had maintained a calm mind during this time, they might have noticed that only things that could be used to send messages outside were destroyed; messages could still come to this base.

This was more terrifying as other people wouldn't know that this base was compromised for a certain amount of time, which would be enough for Akeru and Erza to escape.

Every living being in the base heard a voice:

"You are not dying due to some righteous bullshit or justice or some other cause. You might have been working here due to your passion, or maybe this was your only option to survive.

You might have families at home who are waiting for you or need you to sustain them, or maybe some other difficult circumstances.

I don't care what circumstances led you to this place; blame your own luck for being at the wrong place at the wrong time.

You are dying due to the sole reason of my wishes.

Rest in Peace."

In the next instant, all human beings other than the Vice-Captain level individual and Erza were electrified with red-green lightning for a few seconds until they were converted to ash.

"What the fuck," the Vice-Captain level individual—Drake—muttered in shock.

Suddenly, in his sensory field, he could feel a lot of mana converging at a single place, making him move in that direction.

BANG.

However, a bullet shot made him stop in his tracks and deal with it.

His grimoire shined and his hands were covered in ice.

He punched the incoming bullet with relative ease while making his way towards the yellow-haired individual.

'Though her hair and eye color are different, it's no doubt that she is Erza Doughnut. The other party must be Akeru,' the man internally cursed at his luck while thinking what sins he had committed to be in this situation.

Two knives appeared in each of Erza's hands as she rushed at Drake.

KLANG.

Steel met ice, however neither was damaged.

Drake executed a cross kick, which Erza had already foreseen, and stopped it by kicking at his knee.

Her knife-wielding hands came dangerously close to Drake's face, but the latter remained calm as he brought his hand in the way, successfully grabbing her knife with his ice-coated hand.

"Little Girl, I—"

BOOM

Multiple bullets were shot from Erza's right knuckles.

Due to the momentum, Drake was thrown like a ragdoll backwards; however, due to the thickness and durability of his ice coating, he wasn't really harmed.

"How troublesome," the middle-aged man sighed as he landed on the opposite side.

In the next instant, a rocket was shot at him; however, ice-covered him completely as he grabbed the rocket with his bare hands.

"How about you take this back?" Drake said while throwing the rocket.

"Nope." Even before the rocket could leave his hands, it exploded.

"So, you can control the explosion. I see, those are some nice firecrackers," Drake was unharmed as he swatted away the smoke caused by the rocket.

He momentarily lost track of Erza. Normally, this wouldn't have been possible with the presence of his sensory zone; however, an unreal amount of mana was being concentrated at one point, making any sensory use of mana meaningless as the mana in the surrounding area was rushing to that location.

He didn't need to look around much as they were still in a closed room.

"Try this," Erza appeared from the front with a shotgun in hand.

BANG

A bullet left the gun as it was fired point-blank at Drake.

'This bullet has the highest penetrative power I could make. Normally I had to create such bullets in advance; however, with the help of recent mana control training, I could not only create one at such a level during battle, but my higher limit of firepower was increased. I had created this bullet in advance,' Erza thought as her short gun broke easily.

She was hurled backwards like a ragdoll due to the recoil force.

However, Drake didn't notice this as he felt the bullet hitting him.

He, who was standing currently, crashed into the wall with tremendous force due to the sheer impact.

The walls didn't break, as they were established with the intent of containing those lower-class devils.

The durability of these walls was similar to the ones present in the basement of Fuegoleon's house, where he had fought Akeru.

Erza steadied herself as she saw the man standing up, blood visible on his forehead, which was covered with ice, tinting it red.

"What a deadly attack. It seems I need to take you seriously, or I will die like this." Though Drake appeared calm and collected on the surface, the reality was anything but that.

He had seen a flashback of his entire life during that moment.

His defensive spell had upgraded at the last instant so that he could live.

'Get a grip. At least I need to somehow relay the information before I die; otherwise, the higher-ups won't let them live,' Drake remembered the driving reason why he was still fighting.

He had no hopes of leaving alive after he felt the presence of Akeru. He had already assumed that the reason he wasn't killed yet was to act as a training dummy for Erza.

Drake's eyes widened, and so did Erza's.

The amount of mana that was being collected, which was an amount they had never seen used in a spell, had started to move.

Erza suddenly recalled one of Akeru's previous statements:

'It requires a huge amount of mana to take care of low-ranking devils by normal means.'
