Bloody odyssey

Chapter 1: Chapter 1.

**Location: Blackwater Kingdom**

"How is this possible? Didn't I die?" Dax muttered, his voice barely above a whisper. His mind raced as he took in his surroundings—a dimly lit room filled with strange, glowing machinery. The air smelled of ozone and something metallic, like blood.

*Oh, let me guess... I've transmigrated.*

A voice echoed in his mind, calm and mechanical: *Yes, Creator.*

Dax Godfall, once a renowned researcher in his previous world, had lived a life defined by two things: his brilliance and his curse. In his original world, humans awakened special powers called *traits*. Dax's first trait, *Insatiable Hunger*, had earned him the cruel nickname "Hungry Pig." It was a relentless, gnawing void that forced him to scavenge for scraps in dumpsters and survive on leftovers.

But Dax was no ordinary trait wielder. He possessed a second trait, one so rare and powerful it had elevated him to the ranks of the elite: *Synthesis*. This ability allowed him to fuse anything he willed—matter, energy, even life itself. It was a godlike power, one that had driven him to become a researcher in the first place.

Over the years, Dax experimented on alien species, creating hybrid beasts to study how *Synthesis* affected their genes. His research had led to a temporary solution for his hunger: consuming powerful lifeforms. Each meal not only satiated his hunger but also enhanced his physical strength, turning him into a force to be reckoned with.

Dax's breakthroughs had earned him a place in the Galactic Palace as an intermediate researcher. But it was his creation of the *Dark Elixir* and the *Awakening Potion* that had cemented his legacy. The *Dark Elixir* could upgrade traits, while the *Awakening Potion* gave humans a 95% chance of unlocking a trait—a revolutionary feat in a world where only 40% of the population possessed one.

Yet, despite his success, Dax's ultimate goal had always been to cure his *Insatiable Hunger*. After decades of research, he had finally discovered the *Absorption System*, a fundamental aspect of all life forms. This breakthrough had led to the creation of the *Devouring Gene*, the key to overcoming his curse.

"My life's work... it's finally complete," Dax whispered, holding the vial of *Devouring Gene* up to the light. The liquid inside swirled like liquid shadow, pulsing with an otherworldly energy.

But before he could celebrate, the lab door exploded.

Smoke and debris filled the room as a figure stepped through the wreckage. The man was tall and imposing, his face twisted into a cruel grin. Dax recognized him immediately: the Slave Master, a notorious figure who specialized in enslaving powerful beings.

"Ah, Dax Godfall," the Slave Master sneered, his voice dripping with malice. "I see you've been busy. Hand over what's in your hand, and I might let you live."

Dax's grip tightened around the vial. "You break into my lab, destroy my work, and then have the audacity to make demands?" His voice was calm, but his eyes burned with fury. "Don't worry. I assure you, you'll regret this."

The Slave Master chuckled, a sound that sent shivers down Dax's spine. "Big words for a man who's about to die. Dagon, deal with him."

A massive figure emerged from the shadows—a hulking beast with glowing red eyes and skin like molten rock. Dax recognized it as one of the Slave Master's strongest slaves.

Without hesitation, Dax uncorked the vial and drank the *Devouring Gene*. The liquid was cold and alive, writhing as it slid down his throat. He could feel it spreading through his body, a dark, consuming force.

Then, with a grim determination, Dax plunged his hand into his own chest.

Blood poured from the wound as Dax's fingers closed around his heart. He could feel the *Devouring Gene* taking hold, merging with his very essence.

"Synthesis," he whispered, his voice trembling with pain and resolve.

The hole in his chest began to close, the flesh knitting itself back together. But something was wrong. Dax's vision blurred, and his mind was flooded with a chaotic rush of thoughts and emotions.

"Mad man you are truly mad!" The slave master was flabbergasted by what he saw.

"Ineros, give me a full body update," Dax gasped, his voice barely audible.

The response came instantly, a cold, mechanical voice in his mind: *Creator, you are experiencing a gene break. There is a 100% chance of insanity.*

Dax's eyes turned pitch black as a thick, black goo began to seep from his pores. He could feel his sanity slipping away, consumed by the very power he had sought to control.

The last thing he heard was the Slave Master's laughter, echoing in the distance.
