Blue Lock: Isagi the egoist

Chapter 30: Off-time

For the first time in what felt like forever, the players of Blue Lock were free.

No training.

No matches.

No pressure.

Just pure, unrestricted freedom.

The team agreed to meet at Shibuya, the perfect place to relax after their victory against Japan U-20.

Bachira was already hyped, talking about arcades and street soccer.Chigiri wanted to shop, dragging Nagi and Reo into the chaos.Barou, as expected, was too "majestic" for casual hangouts but reluctantly tagged along.

But while the others were out enjoying themselves—

Isagi had something else on his mind.

Instead of heading to Shibuya, Isagi found himself inside Ego's office.

The room was dark, the glow of multiple screens illuminating the space.

Ego adjusted his glasses, staring at Isagi.

"You should be out celebrating, Isagi Yoichi. Why are you here?"

Isagi grinned.

"Simple. I want to know what's next."

Ego's lips curled into a sinister smile.

"This is why he's number one."

He turned one of the screens toward Isagi, revealing a new project.

The words "NEO EGOIST LEAGUE" were displayed boldly.

Isagi's eyes widened.

"Neo Egoist League?"

Ego leaned back, explaining:

"This is the next phase of Blue Lock. The best players will be split into teams, each coached by a world-class professional striker. Clubs across Europe will be watching. This will be the battleground where you prove yourself to the world."

Isagi's heartbeat quickened.

"A real challenge… against the world's best?"

Ego continued:

"The Japan U-20 squad will also be invited. This isn't just about Blue Lock anymore. This is about determining Japan's future on the global stage."

Isagi grinned so wide it almost hurt.

"This is perfect."

Without hesitation, he extended his hand to Ego.

The mastermind of Blue Lock smirked, shaking it.

"Then go prepare, Yoichi Isagi. Your true battle starts now."

As Isagi left the office, he pulled out his phone and dialed a number.

Sae Itoshi.

After a few rings, the call connected.

"Yo, Sae."

"Tch. What do you want?"

"Join me in the Neo Egoist League."

Silence.

Then—

"…That so?"

Isagi could almost hear Sae's smirk.

"Heh. Guess I have no choice."

Isagi chuckled.

"Then let's shake the world together. again."

After his talk with Ego and Sae, Isagi finally made his way to Shibuya.

The city was alive with lights and energy.

He spotted his teammates instantly:

Bachira was challenging street players in freestyle dribbling.Nagi was complaining about walking too much.Barou looked pissed off, holding multiple shopping bags for Chigiri.Rin stood off to the side, pretending not to enjoy himself.

The moment they saw Isagi, Bachira grinned.

"Yo, Isagi! You're late!"

Isagi smirked.

"Had some business to take care of."

As he joined them, he thought to himself—

"This is just the calm before the storm."

Because soon, the Neo-Egoist League would begin.

After the intensity of the Japan U-20 match and the bombshell of the Neo Egoist League, Isagi finally had a day to himself.

But instead of resting, he had something far more important planned.

A date.

He grabbed his phone and dialed a familiar number.

Ring… Ring…

"Yoichi!" A cheerful voice answered.

Isagi smiled.

"Kyouki. Got time today?"

A slight pause.

Then—

"Of course! Let me get my mom, hold on—"

In the background, he heard a soft chuckle.

Then a more mature, elegant voice spoke.

"Isagi-kun, how wonderful of you to call. Are you inviting us out?"

Isagi chuckled.

"Yeah. Let's have some fun today."

A shared laugh.

And just like that—

the date was set.

Isagi arrived at the meeting spot, dressed sharper than usual.

When Kyouki and her mother arrived, they immediately turned heads.

Kyouki was radiant, her energy infectious. Her mother was elegant, carrying herself with effortless grace.

But the real showstopper was Isagi himself.

People whispered as they recognized him:

"Wait… isn't that Yoichi Isagi?!"

"THE Isagi?! Japan's No. 1 Striker?!"

"Didn't he destroy the U-20 team?!"

Yet, Isagi ignored them.

Because today wasn't about soccer.

It was about enjoying himself.

Their first stop was a high-end shopping district.

Kyouki and her mother had a blast trying on different outfits, playfully dragging Isagi into the mix.

At one point, Kyouki held up a ridiculously flashy suit.

"This one screams 'Blue Lock Champion!'"

Isagi stared.

"…I'm not wearing that."

Neneko smirked.

"I think it suits you."

Isagi sighed. They were having too much fun with this.

Next, they visited one of Tokyo's most luxurious restaurants.

Isagi had pulled some strings (courtesy of his rising fame) to get a reservation.

When they walked in, the staff immediately recognized him.

"I-Isagi-sama! Right this way!"

Kyouki giggled.

"Wow, VIP treatment, huh?"

Isagi shrugged. "Perks of being the best."

The meal was incredible—the finest cuisine, laughter-filled conversations, and stolen glances between Isagi and Kyouki.

Neneko watched them with an amused expression.

She saw it.

That unshakable fire in Isagi's eyes.

He wasn't just a soccer player.

He was a conqueror.

And her daughter had fallen for him.

After dinner, they took a slow walk through the illuminated streets of Tokyo.

The city glowed, but Isagi only focused on the girl beside him.

Kyouki leaned against his arm.

"You know… I don't think I've ever seen you relax like this."

Isagi smirked.

"Gotta enjoy the calm before the next storm."

Neneko chuckled.

"And what storm would that be?"

Isagi's eyes burned with excitement.

"The Neo Egoist League."

Kyouki grinned.

"Then you better win, 'Sex God.'"

Isagi froze.

"Wait, WHAT?!"

She and her mother burst into laughter.

"Oh, come on, you KNOW people idolize you like one!"

Isagi groaned.

"…I play soccer, not… THAT."

Neneko smirked beautifully.

"A God in all aspects of life… quite a fitting title, don't you think?"

Isagi sighed, shaking his head.

"You two are dangerous."

They just laughed harder.

As the night came to a close, Kyouki leaned up, pressing a kiss to Isagi's cheek.

"Thanks for today, Yoichi."

Neneko smiled warmly.

"Indeed. You've given us a wonderful memory."

Isagi grinned.

"Anytime."

As they left, Isagi looked up at the Tokyo skyline.

Tomorrow, he would return to training.

But for now…

He was just Yoichi Isagi.

A man who had conquered the field…

And stolen hearts.
