Born In Ashes: The Enigma

Chapter 129: Something Above Skills And Essentia Arts

"What do you plan to look for here?" Azrael asked Felix.

"I am going to see if there are any books related to the power of Blessing. Currently, each time I use it on someone, they receive a random low-level blessing. I want to find out if there is any information on controlling it properly so that instead of random low-level blessings, I can give people exactly what they need." He paused, a wary smile tugging at his lips.

"The information about the power of blessing on the internet is just too complicated, and I have no one to ask for guidance. Although there will be instructors to teach us about our powers once the academy begins, I still want to gain at least a basic understanding of the power of blessing beforehand."

Azrael raised an eyebrow at Felix's words.

'If I remember correctly, he was an orphan who was brought to that hellhole from an orphanage…' Azrael thought inwardly, instantly realizing that no one had ever guided Felix on how to use his Blessing power properly because of his situation.

He thought for a moment, recalling what had happened to Felix on earth, and then spoke.

"If you don't find anything here, let me know. I know someone who can help you. Though, considering how many books are here, I am sure you will be able to find something."

Felix was surprised when he heard Azrael's words and nodded gratefully.

"Let's meet again in afternoon. I also need to look for books that contain information about the other races."

"Okay," Felix replied with another nod, and the two of them began searching for the books they needed.

There were tens of thousands of books in the building, divided into different sections.

Azrael walked around, and thanks to the neat arrangement of the bookshelves, he soon found the section he was looking for.

"Basic Introduction of the Different Races in Genesis," He read aloud.

There were thousands of books in the section, but Azrael didn't mind the large number and randomly picked one from the shelf.

"Basic Introduction of the Void Beasts," He read the title of the book he had chosen.

He opened it, and the first information that appeared before him was about a race called Ritoris.

It was the first time Azrael had heard of the Ritoris race, so he began reading to learn more and quickly discovered that the Ritoris were a species of Void Beast.

Void Beasts were monsters that lived in the void space instead of the material space. There were many different types of Void Beasts, and Ritoris were simply one among them.

Since the book was only a basic introduction, it contained only limited information about the various types of Void Beasts.

With the help of his Infinite Comprehension trait, Azrael easily memorized everything written in the book in just a few minutes.

To proceed with the idea he had in mind, Azrael needed to study the abilities of a large number of species—their strengths, weaknesses, advantages, disadvantages, and many other traits.

As a result, he quickly began flipping through the books one after another.

There were far too many, and after memorizing only a small portion of them, his brain began to feel swollen from the sheer amount of information he had absorbed in such a short time.

Azrael stopped reading and took nearly an hour to let his mind fully digest all the information.

Then, something caught his attention, and his eyes paused.

He walked to the next section of bookshelves, and when he read the label, his eyes twitched.

"Basic Introduction of the Different Races in Genesis — 2."

He moved to the next section—

"Basic Introduction of the Different Races in Genesis — 3."

In the end, Azrael discovered that there were a total of ten sections solely dedicated to Basic Introduction of the Different Races in Genesis.

'It seems I will have to spend quite some time here before I can memorize all of them…' Azrael thought to himself.

But when he considered the idea in his mind, he only hesitated for a second before making up his mind.

'Once I join the academy, I'll dedicate an hour or two every day to swallow all the knowledge I need.'

Azrael's true goal was actually to create a technique of his own—something akin to a skill.

Since the moment he had obtained the Infinite Comprehension trait and understood its potential, he felt it would be a waste to use it solely for learning skills, Essentia Arts, and other established disciplines.

Instead, he wanted to create something that belonged solely to him—something that surpassed skills, Essentia Arts, and all other existing methods.

With that ambition in mind, he had thought of a technique that, if successfully created, would help him immensely in the future.

However, to create it, he not only lacked the knowledge to begin, but he also needed to raise his own level, as the technique was far from simple.

'Well, to create something great, it's understandable that you'd need to work like a donkey…' Azrael thought with a shake of his head before continuing to read.

Time passed, and before long, it was already afternoon.

Azrael put the book back on the shelf, and after glancing at the thousands more he still needed to read, he turned and walked out of the building.

As he exited, he saw Felix waiting for him—just as they had agreed to meet again in the afternoon.

"Did you find the books you were looking for?"

Felix nodded with a smile. "Luckily, there are some books about the power of Blessing here that are helpful to me."

"I see…" Azrael nodded before asking,

"Want to take a look at other places?"

Felix had no objections, and after checking the map again, they decided to visit the academy's training ground.

The training ground in the academy was somewhat similar to the one Azrael used at the mansion, but this facility was far larger and equipped with many additional rooms—such as the Enlightenment Room, which could enhance one's comprehension ability while inside, allowing them to learn skills, Essentia Arts, and other techniques much faster.

The two of them explored several locations, and by the time evening arrived, they left the academy together.

"I will see you when the academy starts in two days," Azrael said to Felix.

Felix nodded at his words before parting ways.

Azrael called the driver who had brought him to the academy, and within a minute, the car arrived.

Sitting in the back seat, Azrael thought about Felix and smiled faintly.

'He is not much different from the person I knew…' He mused before closing his eyes.

After returning to the mansion, Azrael resumed his usual routine.

Without much else happening, two days passed in the blink of an eye, and the opening day of the academy finally arrived.
