chapter 10
That said, it’s not as if Kwon Yeongje is truly impotent. He had witnessed his instincts surge uncontrollably during rut seasons. It’s just that his desire for achievement was much more inflated than his sexual desires. He wasn’t addicted to work for no reason.
For a man like him to be engaging in a sponsor-omega arrangement—well, naturally, it was surprising.
He was either really pissed off or had some hidden agenda. Either way, Heewon, as his personal secretary, was bound to follow his instructions.
"Please, I beg you. Think it over just one more time."
"Ah, this is so annoying... Hey, do I look like someone who’d do sponsorship? Do you think I have nothing else to do?"
"I completely understand that you’re upset. If we could just meet once and talk..."
"Do celebrities seem so easy to you? If you keep coming like this, I’ll report you for stalking. Can you see I’m dialing 112 right now? Should I really call?"
The actor Kwon Yeongje had specifically chosen wasn’t someone to be taken lightly. From the moment the sponsorship offer was made, he started showing his disdain, reacting sharply even just to looking at Heewon’s face.
How Kwon Yeongje came to choose this person was a mystery. If he really wanted to be involved with an actor, they should ideally be {N•o•v•e•l•i•g•h•t} someone in need of a sponsor. Kwon Yeongje... why him, though?
"I’m sorry. Please, I beg you."
All Kim Heewon could do was apologize and plead. He had spent the past two nights guarding the omega actor’s house, bowing without pause. He felt deeply sorry for the actor, but there was nothing he could do.
Even as he stood there, the rumors about Kwon Yeongje’s supposed impotence would surely spread like wildfire. If he went back without results, he would surely be chewed out by Director Kwon, and, above all, as a personal secretary, his pride couldn’t allow failure.
"Wow... You really are a tough person, huh? How do you stand out here in the rain all night?"
"Seon Woojin."
"Got it, so you just want me to meet him once, right? I’m not saying I’ll sponsor him; I just want to meet him because he looks so pitiful. I’m curious what kind of person he is."
On the third day, the omega actor finally raised the white flag. After seeing Heewon stand out in the rain all night, he grew tired of it.
"Thank you. I’ll make sure to get him safely home."
With his hair soaked and a faint smile on his face, the secretary looked so pitiful that Seon Woojin felt that his good looks were wasted.
The first meeting between Kwon Yeongje and Seon Woojin took place secretly.
Unlike someone proposing sponsorship, Kwon Yeongje maintained a stiff attitude throughout. Kim Heewon, as his personal secretary, was also present. He soon learned of Director Kwon’s plan.
The contract period was one month, with meetings twice a week. They’d frequently go to hotels, but there would be no sexual intimacy. Instead, they would act intimately in public, pretending to be in love. A scandalous report was planned.
In other words, they were going to be a window display couple. Sponsorship was merely a cover, and the actor needed to have good acting skills. And the reason it had to be Seon Woojin was...
"Isn’t Kwon Yeongho the one who made several sponsorship offers to you?"
It was because Kwon Yeongho had already targeted him. Even though he had been pursuing him for nearly half a year, Seon Woojin had sensed Kwon Yeongho’s perversion early on and had been keeping a distance.
"It’s all chaos among the same family. Alphas are just the worst."
"You’re not exactly attractive either. If it weren’t for Kwon Yeongho, I wouldn’t have made this offer."
It was hard to believe that the atmosphere between the alpha and omega could be so cold. From the very first meeting, Kwon Yeongje and Seon Woojin disliked each other.
"Didn’t you want to get rid of Kwon Yeongho? We both need help, so let’s come to some arrangement."
"Make sure the compensation is proper. You know how damaging scandals can be to an actor, right? If I’m going to sell my face, I should at least get a proper share."
Strangely enough, their intentions aligned, and the contract was concluded. Kim Heewon acted as the intermediary for the secret sponsorship contract, becoming the sole witness to this strange relationship.
The fake relationship is proceeding smoothly.
Flowers, lunch boxes, coffee carts, and other gifts arrived at Seon Woojin's agency and filming locations almost every day. All of these were carefully selected by Kim Heewon.
That’s not all; he even made restaurant reservations and occasionally booked hotel rooms. They were constantly seen out and about, making it easy for the dating rumors to start circulating. High-definition photos of their "dates" added fuel to the fire.
Despite the strictly business nature of it, on the outside, they looked like a loving couple. Kwon Yeongje displayed a fake and charming smile in front of others, while Seon Woojin acted convincingly as a lovestruck omega.
Of course, when they went into the hotel rooms, they separated into different rooms, only reuniting with linked arms when they came out.
The appearance of them being together, however, was more than enough. Furthermore, rumors of Kwon Yeongje’s impotence quietly disappeared.
"Pheromones, can you turn them off? I feel like I’m going to vomit."
"Wow... You’ve crossed the line."
After finishing their meal and heading out, Kwon Yeongje couldn’t hold it in any longer and clasped his mouth with his hand, looking disgusted. When he genuinely gagged, Seon Woojin finally relaxed his arms and took a step back.
"Isn’t this really disgusting?"
Heewon could only smile in response. While he agreed with Seon Woojin, he knew better than to answer. He had to remain neutral—he had no right to comment.
"Director, it would be best to cancel the movie schedule."
It was clear that Kwon Yeongje wasn’t feeling well, so Heewon needed to attend to him first. He quickly sprayed the deodorizer he had prepared around the car and handed him a bottle of water.
"Let’s do that."
Kwon Yeongje drank the water, trying to settle his uneasy stomach.
"That movie... I really wanted to see it..."
"......"
"I already bragged about it on SNS, you know..."
Heewon simply glanced at Kwon Yeongje. The cold look in his eyes was enough to make him keep quiet.
"How should we do this?"
"...It wouldn’t be right to make you go alone."
"Isn’t Seon Woojin a child?"
"He’s an omega."
Omega individuals were to be cherished, cared for, and protected. Leaving them alone in a dark place was dangerous—a truth even middle schoolers knew.
"Do as you wish."
With a cold response, Kwon Yeongje turned away and snatched the car keys from Heewon’s hand, heading for the elevator alone.
"Are you sure? Won’t I be the one getting you into trouble?"
"Director isn’t the type to hold grudges. It’ll be fine."
"I don’t know... He looks like he’d definitely hold a grudge."
Heewon reassured Seon Woojin, but deep inside, he knew that the moment before the elevator door closed and he locked eyes with Kwon Yeongje, he felt a shiver. Still, Heewon was sure that Kwon Yeongje would just act like it didn’t matter in the end.
Two and a half hours flew by. They had the entire movie theater to themselves, and they comfortably watched the film while chatting.
"It was really fun! Thank you for watching with me!"
Seon Woojin couldn’t hide his excited expression as he repeated how moved he was. It was an art film, so Heewon found it a bit boring, but seeing Seon Woojin so enthusiastic made him feel better.
"I’m glad you enjoyed it."
"I actually have the Blu-ray of the same director’s film at my place. If you’re okay with it, I can introduce it to you. Would you like to watch it together sometime?"
"If the opportunity arises."
While Seon Woojin was excited, Heewon’s mind was occupied with thoughts of the parking lot. Since the runtime had been longer than expected, he was worried about Kwon Yeongje waiting.
"Kim Secretary, is it okay if I call you ‘Heewon hyung’? It’s fine, right?"
"Seon Woojin, shall we walk a little faster?"
They both quickened their pace, each focused on their own thoughts. The sedan parked in the VIP parking area was in sight, along with the tall man leaning next to it.
Heewon immediately dashed ahead, instinctively lowering his waist.
"Director, why are you still out here?"
"......"
Kwon Yeongje looked at him silently, his gaze cold. Heewon tried to gauge his mood.
"Let’s go, I’ll drop Seon Woojin off first, and then we’ll head back to the company."
Without saying anything else, Kwon Yeongje got into the back seat. Heewon hurriedly walked around the car, got into the driver’s seat, and the front passenger door opened with a click—Seon Woojin had claimed it.
"...Should I sit in the back?"
"Yeah. You’ve said you don’t like the back seat, right? I just want to be comfortable going home. Is that okay, Director?"
Seon Woojin, fastening his seatbelt, politely asked. Heewon glanced at the rearview mirror. Kwon Yeongje, sitting behind him, was staring at his tablet screen without a word.
"...Let’s stay quiet."
Kwon Yeongje granted permission with a cold tone.
Heewon swallowed a sigh, pressed the accelerator, and the heavy sedan smoothly slid out of the parking lot.
Inside the car, Seon Woojin’s chattering voice filled the space.
Kwon Yeongje preferred silence during car rides, so it was rare for anyone to talk. Heewon answered the occasional question while constantly glancing in the rearview mirror. Thankfully, Kwon Yeongje didn’t seem to mind.
"You know those cookies you sent to the filming set the other day? They were so pretty that I couldn’t even eat them and froze them instead. You picked them out, right?"
"Ah... yeah, I did."
"I’ve never met anyone so thoughtful. How do you know my taste so well?"
"Well... you post everything on your SNS."
It was rush hour, so the traffic was slow, and Heewon’s attention was fully on driving. Although he was experienced, he wasn’t quite skilled enough to be a professional driver, so he was worried that the people in the back seat might feel uncomfortable.
And Seon Woojin—why was he so approachable? He had gotten more casual with his address and had started asking a lot of questions. His soft omega voice was pleasant, but Heewon had limits when it came to replying.
Just then, the traffic light changed, and Heewon sped up, but out of nowhere, a car from the adjacent lane suddenly cut in.
Bang!
Heewon slammed on the brakes and grabbed the passenger beside him. The sudden stop caused his upper body to lurch forward.
"Director! Are you okay?"
He quickly turned to check on Kwon Yeongje’s condition. Fortunately, he seemed more startled than hurt and was perfectly fine.
"Are you hurt anywhere?"
He asked again, but Kwon Yeongje just stared at something.
More specifically, he was staring at Heewon’s right arm, which was holding onto Seon Woojin’s chest, and at Seon Woojin’s dumbfounded face, his cheeks flushed red and mouth slightly open.
His widened eyes were locked on Kim Heewon. The more he watched, the more Kwon Yeongje’s frown deepened.
This was really... annoying.
The simmering anger in his stomach began to twist again.
