Born to Be a Secretary

chapter 54

The narrow foyer was packed tight with three men and a mountain of stacked delivery boxes. On top of that, the two Alphas had somehow both grown over six feet tall, making the cramped space feel even more suffocating.

“…….”
Kwon Youngjae was the first to appraise the arriving guest from head to toe.
From Heewon Kim’s perspective, the only S-rank Alpha showed a face that gave no hint as to what he was thinking, but the oppressive glare made it clear he wasn’t in a pleasant mood.

“Well then, I’ll be going.”
Han Jinseo flashed a bright smile and turned to leave. Heewon tried to open the door for him, but Jinseo expertly operated the locked door lock.
Thunk—the door shut, and the sound of the deadbolt turning echoed clearly. In the thick silence so quiet you could hear breathing…

Even after Han Jinseo left, the uncomfortable silence lingered long. Heewon deliberately cleared his throat. When he ◈ Nоvеlіgһт ◈ (Continue reading) looked up, he met Kwon Youngjae’s gaze now turned toward him.
“What’s with that bastard?”
“Don’t you know? Han Jinseo… he’s pretty famous these days.”

“Who asked for his name?”
Kwon’s eyes grew even sharper than before. With both hands shoved into his trouser pockets, he looked down on Heewon with an annoyingly disdainful gaze.
“Still don’t realize what kind you are? What could you possibly do inviting an Alpha into the house?”

“You’re an Alpha too, Executive Director.”
Heewon opened the shoe rack and took out slippers reserved only for special guests. Sadly, they had practically become Kwon Youngjae’s exclusive slippers.
“Han Jinseo lives next door. Some packages were mistakenly delivered to our place.”

“…….”
“Executive Director, I’ve prepared the contract. Should I bring it to you?”
Slowly, Kwon took off his shoes and slipped on the slippers. That meant he was stepping fully into this house.

Kwon, who Heewon thought would leave with just the contract, settled in completely, making the dining table his workspace.
What’s the point of a holiday now? Heewon sat across from him and pressed the stiff skin above his eyes with his fingertips. He exhaled a warm sigh into his palm.
“You know this is a contract violation, right?”
He muttered quietly into his palm. The face fixed on the document slowly lifted. A piercingly cold stare shot straight at him as if to say, “Why even say that?”

“You know today is my day off.”
“If you had handled things properly yesterday, I wouldn’t have had to bother coming here.”
“…….”

“Instead of grumbling, open the preliminary contract.”
Heewon obeyed and pulled out the preliminary contract file, spreading it neatly for Kwon to see. The situation was much the same at home as at the company—just the clothes were more casual.
The time when wearing homewear at home was embarrassing had long passed. Heewon glanced sideways at Kwon, who was focused on the documents. Unlike him, clad in a hoodie and sweatpants, Kwon hadn’t changed his usual style even on a day off.

The only difference was that he wasn’t wearing a tie. His normally neatly combed bangs were now naturally falling over his forehead.
Still, Executive Director Kwon’s sharp style didn’t go anywhere. His perfectly fitting shirt and dress pants looked comfortable, and it was familiar to anyone who saw him.
Heewon shook off distracting thoughts and refocused on his work. Since things were like this anyway, what else could he do but work? It was better to work together at least until Kwon finished reviewing the contract.

He opened his laptop and began replying to emails piled up over the day when his stomach growled loudly, hungry.
Heewon just raised his eyes. Kwon didn’t even smirk or care—his eyes remained fixed on the documents.
“Executive Director… have you eaten?”

“Not yet.”
“Shall I order something?”
“Order whatever you think is suitable.”

It was the usual exchange. Heewon quickly picked out a menu that fit Kwon’s tastes and placed the order. Though feeding him meant Kwon would stay longer at his place, what could he do? They did it all just to make a living.
Ten days later, Heewon left work late as usual.
Since it was past midnight, the only sound in the villa was slow footsteps echoing softly. Heewon stiffly turned his neck a few times before stepping into the elevator.

Tomorrow morning, he had to go down to the Daejeon research institute, and that evening another business dinner was scheduled. He ran through Executive Director Kwon’s relentless schedule in his head, waiting for the elevator to reach the eighth floor.
Ding—snapping out of his thoughts, he walked out through the smoothly opening door.
“Huh, huh, huh!”

Suddenly, an unsettling sound came from the usually quiet corridor—right outside his own door.
What was worse, a sharp, sweet scent hit his nose. Instinctively, he recognized it as Omega pheromones and paused for a moment before stepping forward again.
Turning the corner, he finally saw the source of the heavy breathing. The man hidden in the dark startled, swallowing sharply when the sensor light suddenly flicked on.

“…Who is it?”
A panicked voice slipped out immediately. An Omega, wearing almost nothing but lingerie, was sitting with his back against Heewon’s front door.
As if saying, “Come catch me,” a pretty ribbon was tied around his neck. Yet, the face was a complete stranger.

No older than early twenties, with sharply protruding shoulder blades and a painfully thin frame, the remarkably pretty-looking man was utterly unfamiliar to Heewon. Why he was doing this in front of someone else’s house was anyone’s guess.
“Ah, ahh, huuh, I can’t… wait, uh! Please!”
Suddenly, a dam broke, and thick, intense Omega pheromones began to flood the air. It was a heat cycle.

While Heewon was frozen, unable to do anything, the man collapsed fully to the floor, twisting his heated body. He pinched and twisted his own swollen nipples, grabbed and rubbed his fully erect member through his pants. Clear saliva dripped from his panting mouth. It wasn’t enough to quell his excitement, as he tried to pull down his pants and underwear.
“Hey! Wait, you can’t do this here… damn it, are you okay?”
“You’re an acquaintance… hurry, please save me.”

“Snap out of it!”
Heewon pushed the man down to stop him from taking off his pants and fumbled inside his jacket. Damn it, his fingers fumbled for his phone, the device he always had at hand.
“I’ll call 119. Just hold on a little.”

Just as he was about to dial and press the call button, the neighbor’s front door opened, and a tall figure stepped out. The sound of sneakers tapping on the floor seeped into the distracted Heewon’s ears.
“I knew you were stupid, but I didn’t think you’d even get the address wrong.”
Han Jinseo was suddenly by his side. Seeing the Omega in heat, Jinseo seemed completely unfazed, speaking coolly.

“Do you know this person?”
Heewon slowly lowered his phone. Confirming that Jinseo knew the man was more important for now; his thumb hovered over the call button.
“Yeah, well. He’s the one who came looking for me.”

Jinseo split his lips into a long grin. The solid young man from before was gone, replaced by an Alpha with a vicious aura leaking from him.
“You’re so noisy, it makes me lose my appetite.”
“Jinseo, Jinseo! I want to be eaten, okay? Please eat me…”

The Omega, smelling the Alpha’s scent, went wild. He raised his hips beneath Heewon’s knees, and startled, Heewon pulled his hand back. Like a wild colt off the leash, the Omega immediately crawled toward Han Jinseo.
“Please, haah, ha, eat me, I taste good, okay?”
“Who’s going to eat someone drooling like that?”

“Haah, uh, please…”
The Omega wept and begged desperately to be eaten. His short shorts were soaked with wet juices. The ripe fruit scent and the aroma of arousal mixed and filled the confined corridor.
“Seowoo, behave yourself. You’d be better off if you had just come home properly.”

“Uh, uh, haa, sorry, I was wrong. Please take it out, please put it in.”
Jinseo lifted the raging Omega high. Holding the pheromone-dripping Omega in his arms, his cold gaze fixed firmly on the frozen Heewon’s face.
“Can’t you even hold your head up because you’re embarrassed in front of the neighbors?”

“…….”
But right now, Heewon couldn’t focus on Jinseo’s face. The sight of the Omega in heat left him truly shaken.
Jinseo’s lips curved into a sly smirk again. He slapped the Omega’s ass hard. As a wild cry erupted and pheromones sprayed like a fountain, Heewon’s shoulders trembled.

“Excuse me. See you next time?”
Jinseo threw a casual farewell and turned away. For a few steps down the hall, the Omega licked and sucked Jinseo’s neck, making noises that echoed in Heewon’s ears.
Bang—the door slammed loudly. Only after they disappeared could Heewon finally exhale the breath he’d been holding. It didn’t really matter that Han Jinseo was a reckless bastard. What haunted Heewon was the Omega he’d just seen. His hand trembling as it touched the cold floor. He was scared. The sight was too shocking to process.

When the heat cycle hits… will I be like that too?
It was no longer someone else’s problem. The unimaginable image was about to become Heewon Kim’s reality. That truth terrified him.
