Breaking Free, Loving Again -The Flash Marriage with Mr. CEO

Chapter 632: Biased towards me.

Arwen turned to Mia and gave her a small nod before looking at Alfred to say, "Thank you, Alfred. You can take the car to the parking lot. I will give you a call once we are done here."

Alfred nodded, and was about to unbuckle his seatbelt to get down, and Arwen opened the door. But she stopped him.

"It's fine. I will do it myself."

And then, she pushed the door of the car before stepping out of it.

Mia also got down and took a round to come to her side. "Ma'am, before coming here, I have called and asked them. Your dress is almost ready. If the trial goes fine, they will send it by evening itself."

Arwen nodded. "Let's go and take the trial then."

They stepped forward and walked into the store. And since the staff of the store were well aware of Arwen's identity, they all bowed politely in greeting. She also reciprocated them with a kind smile.

"Mrs. Winslow," a soft voice greeted her, and she turned to find the same store assistant from the last time.

"Hello, how have you been, Chase?" she reverted, and the store assistant's smile only deepened.

"I have been great, ma'am. Thank you for asking," she answered before adding. "I have been waiting for you."

"Oh, I just hope I didn't make you wait for long then."

She shook her head. "Not at all, ma'am. Please come with me." She gestured further inside the store. "Your dress has already been brought from the studio, and you can try it."

Arwen followed her, but her eyes shifted to look around the store before stopping at the cabin built at the corner. "Aura had called me in the morning and said that she would be here. Is she in her office?"

The attendant paused in her step and briefly looked in the direction where Arwen had stared a second ago. "Ma'am isn't in her office," she said and turned her gaze to Arwen to add with a smile. "Before you arrived, she got an urgent call from the studio, and she had to rush. But she said she would be back in time."

"I am not in a rush today, anyway," Arwen reverted, checking the time on her watch. "I can wait for her after I complete trying on the dress."

The attendant nodded, and then the three walked to get the trial done.

It took a while, but it was soon done.

Once Arwen was satisfied, she looked at the attendant and said, "This is perfect. I don't need any alterations."

"We are glad to hear that, ma'am. I will then ask them to wrap this up and deliver it to your place."

Arwen nodded before turning to look at herself in the mirror. Aura never fails to mesmerize her with her designs. Earlier, she had no plans of getting a new dress. But given that this would be the first event she would be attending as the President of Davies Internationals, this was something necessary.

Mia stepped closer and said with glitter in her eyes. "Ma'am, you are looking stunning. I am sure when you walked into the party, the guests couldn't be able to refuse to accept that you are born to be the heiress of a rich aristocratic family."

"My intention behind dressing up is not to beat Emily, Mia," Arwen smiled, staring at her assistant through the mirror. Although the girl hasn't suggested it very clearly, she had seen the real meaning behind her words reflected in her eyes in the mirror. She could tell what she was expecting.

Arwen turned to face her. "I don't seek irrelevant revenges. So, portraying myself as someone that I no longer want to be will never be my intention. I have solely accepted the invite because that was what the President of Davies International was required to do. So, it would be better if the guests at that party see me as the leader of the Davies Group and nothing else."

Mia felt a little embarrassed. Scratching the corner of her brows, she apologized, "Sorry, ma'am. I didn't mean to sound like that. I was just —"

"Biased towards me," Arwen helped her finish. "It's fine, I can understand your intention, and I truly appreciate it as well. Now, go and check for your dress. Being my secretary, you can't fall behind as well."

Mia blushed and soon, the attendant led her to a change and try. In the meantime, Arwen changed back as well.

When she came out to check, she looked at the watch. She didn't ask, but Chase, the store assistant, who was standing right beside her, answered.

"Ms. Bright is on her way back to the store. She would be reaching here soon."

Arwen raised a brow at her and asked, "You called her?"

She nodded, replying, "She had asked me to let her know the moment you come to the store."

"Thank you, Chase."

The attendant smiled back at her.

While Arwen waited in Aura's office, she finally heard the heels clicking against the floor approaching the room.

As she looked up, the door of the office room opened, and Aura Bright stood at the door with a wide smile.

"Don't tell me I made you wait for too long."

Arwen squinted her eyes a little before pressing her lips in a thin line. "Then do you want me to lie?"

Aura reached for her ear as she stepped inside the room and closed the door behind her. "I am so sorry. I didn't think the people from the studio would call me so urgently. I had to leave."

"On the account of the beautiful dress you designed for me," Arwen crossed her arms in front of her chest as if considering something very serious. "I can ignore this one time. But there shouldn't be another time."

Aura smiled and chuckled. "There wouldn't be." Then, she went to take her seat behind her desk and stared at Arwen, her gaze turning curiously serious. "So, tell me what is it?"
